Keith is the reason people don’t have to take 18 pills 3 times a day, or have their blood drawn every 15 minutes or fight like that. I don’t have hiv but damn the fight he put up never realized it!

hiv is a joke to me bro so easy to cure. all you need is some fulvic acid straight from mother nature
Growing up in a fairly liberal area, there seems to be a huge split contrast in attitudes which ends up making people less educated. Conservative extremists blame it on sin, and shame homosexuality , drug use, and AIDS entirely; sex education is often shunned as well. On the opposite end, liberal extremists believe that sex education should be primarily about pregnancy risks, and how the birth control pill (or Depo) is revolutionary and the safe and sane option for every female. Liberals are often against discouraging promiscuity, or factually talking about the risks of homosexual sex because "there is nothing wrong with being gay".
According to the CDC, Buzzfeed's recommended source, if a man starts having sex with men, their chance of getting HIV "is more than 44 times that of other men (rate ranges from 522 to 989 per 100,000 MSM compared to 12 per 100,000 other men)." Promiscuity has led to the spread of Genital Herpes, with 15% of females aged 14-49 having it, 30+% for those who are African-American.
Unfortunately Sex-Ed teachers do not want to say that it is extremely important for gay men to practice safe sex, unless they're in a monogamous relationship with both partners being STD free. Oral herpes is spreading to genitals - it's ok for schools to give out condoms to stop pregnancy, but not dental dams.
@@JohnDoe-eh1ie very informative!
There should be more education about it. Im from TX and we didnt learn about HIV in my health class... Thank God I took a Human Sexuality course @ my uni. Everyone should have the right to these type of resources in schools.

M60gunner1971 you do realize anyone can get aids right? Or are you just too inbred to understand that.

These hate comments are horrible. How many heterosexuals use condoms 100% of the time?
I use them 100% cause as for now I'm not planning a child..... I love my body and I'll make sure I don't have an one night intercourse.... not with someone I don't know.
yinloveyang with a condom...... you can still get pregnant
Partner selection (avoiding high risk people) is way more effective than using a condom.
Part of that is avoiding persons belonging to certain races.
The CDC stats are clear. You might hate the facts, but science doesn't lie.
The best way to protect yourself against HIV, avoid sex with the high risk groups :
>Black men and women
>IV drug users
>gay men
>women who have sex with members of high risk groups
IV drug users have really cleaned up their act and are becoming infected far less often than before.
Straight White men who avoid high risk partners have such a low rate of infection that their numbers are combined with hemophiliacs, needle stick victims and babies infected at birth, in the group the CDC calls "other".
This is necessary because showing their figures on the same graph as blacks, gays, and women who have sex with blacks and bisexuals, would be too politically incorrect. The difference too extreme.
To put it in perspective, a white man who only has sex with white women, and avoids those who belong to, or have sex with high risk groups, has about the same chance of catching Hiv each year, as he does of being struck by lightning.
Most people simply don't read the reports properly to know this.
Superscript and subscript is there for a reason, follow it, understand what the stats are telling you.
The fact that the best and most effective way to protect against infection (safe partner selection) is NOT taught in sex ed, to avoid hurting feelings, is criminal.

I've got friends that are HIV positive and they are likely to outlive me. They have educated me in how the virus is treated and transmitted and I'm honestly more worried about getting cancer or Alzheimer's disease than getting HIV. How did they get it? Playing with poop. There will always be a stigma its nasty...
Flash Gordon There is some truth to your comment. I lived through this. I have not contracted so much as a cold sore. It's uncalled for.
People keep saying that aids is now a chronic disease, but I know people who died recently at a young age from this disease. It's still a DEADLY disease.
Well yes and no. A chronic disease is categorised as one lasting more than three months but it is certainly also a deadly disease if left unchecked.

This video should have 1h, I would definitely watch. Sending love for both
RIP Freddie Mercury
heeeey, Queen fan?
That gentlemen is a hero .. he gave himself to science being hiv positive to help find the rite medications . If it wasnt for people like him . That young gentlemen sitting across from him would not be able to live a full life . I'm in tears . This is so emotional .
HIV patients today are so lucky compared to the people with HIV in the 80s. It was brutal and hopelessness, people are getting hated, discriminated and humiliated. It was so sad, respect to those poor souls that rested for the better of medical advancement.
Thank you Keith and everyone who fought for more awareness and research for a deadly disease by risking their lives and contributing. Without them, we wouldn't be able to have this much knowledge or medication to combat such a frightening illness that isn't so frightening anymore. Thank you.
I’ve watched this video for so many times already. And it touches me every single time - even more. And it’s another sign. That in our gay scene, we need to stop discriminate ourself and start again, to be nice to each other.
If you are reading this right now and have HIV and are feel alone or down
I want you to know that you are not alone
People DO LOVE YOU
We do care
And please remember you are no different than anyone else and deserve to be loved and cared for ❤️
Stay beautiful
Appreciate the honesty that you both have shared. Huge respect for spreading awareness. Wishing the best to both of you!
Ohhh the last sentence that Keith said just broke my heart 💔
Buzzfeed finally made quality content.,
Hoping and praying for the best for the two of you, I salute your strength and resilience and I hope more people will support research about HIV and more people will help HIV patients remind them that they are far greater and more than as an HIV patient
this deserves more recognition, didn’t realize people had to fight such a battle ❤️🙏🏼
One dear friend was part of these protocols, and now that another person I love is HIV positive and have a better perspective, makes me so grateful for those who went through all these experimental treatments and for those in science that keep trying every day.
The virgin life is the best life
Oh yes 🕶
Until you accidentally get infected with needle from HIV infected person.
Winux Worx Nope. We have post-exposure prophylaxis for cases like that.
Winux Worx • why are you randomly sticking yourself with needles? You think we get our flu shots from the McDonald’s bathroom trash?
It’s not always spread from sex bRUH
Yesterday, another human being was cured of HIV. We’re getting there people ❤️
They cleaned someone's filthy blood? How?
@@Dre-cu2dm It doesn't cure aids.
This took me back to SF in 1986 so fast... We've come so far, but how much faster could we have got here if research had been better funded? How many more of my friends would still be alive? It hurts, but I'm glad there is some hope now. We can not stop pushing to make people aware and educated. Love to both of you!
This was so beautiful i cried.
RIP EAZY E 🙏🏼 real east gangsta
Eazy was set up. Nobody died as quickly from this like they claim Eazy did.
He was nasty, he probably passed it on to many women.
@Nero Machiavelli Easy E never had HIV, he was killed
Suge Knight admitted on a interview on Jimmy Kimmel that EASY E WAS INJECTED WITH AIDS.
If Easy E had HIV his wife would’ve been positive and no females came foward
I hope that we will have a cure for this soon
Wilma Thefabulous A cure been found they're not giving it up because they make billions off of all these temporary treatments
Freddy Mercury will forever be a legend 💯 :(
He didn't want people to know and now that's all he's remembered for
@@crissyd3836 he is remembered for being the best singer of all time
Freddie
Ep0ch the best? No
This made me cry. Because of men like these I was able to get prep after I was raped, probably protected me from contracting HIV. Thank you.
Mwikali Kilonzo you have to take prep first. It doesn’t work if you have sex with a HIV positive man and after you take prep.
Thank you so much Keith. Thank you. You saved so many. Thank you.
My spirits and prayers with both of you.
I’m glad I watched this video. I few weeks ago, I had been getting really sick, couldn’t get out of bed, and I was just in pain. I thought it was HIV due to the fact that I had unprotected sex. I went to go get tested and saw that I was non reactive (negative) for HIV, but only positive for Mono. I got really scared. And with good reason. I learned my lesson and have been more cautious and careful and protective. Been looking into Prep to protect myself further. I hope everyone stays safe and we find a cure for this disease.
Thanks for sharing your story. Please get on Prep, our community is at a higher risk and it only takes one slip up. Many never got the chance to get on prep. Wish you the best my friend. 💛💛
