    I also live in Hereford and every time I see a black Tesla Model 3 on the road, I have to do a double-take to see if it's you driving. If you ever see a grey Tesla Model 3 flash its light or the driver waving maniacally, know that it's a subscriber not a road rager 😂

    Good to see you doing content again. As I’m an Aussie your stuff is way more pertinent to my situation. I wish you could turn on some kind of log where your car basically streams decision making over the camera feed that you can then capture and review later. I’ve had places where the car just does something (very consistently) but seemingly for no reason. Like a long slow bending road where it just wants to come to a stop halfway through. No reason. Very consistent.

    I chose not to go for the paid AP as I do not believe it to be worth anywhere near the price they are asking for it here in the UK, its very clearly not designed for UK roads. I barely trust the included basic AP due to its frequent phantom braking which is such a shame. I use it on the motorways only either on empty roads or in stop start traffic. Some good testing done there by yourself, keep up the good work and will be interested to see if it gets better.

      My guy, this is autopilot not full self driving beta… unless you’re referring to the regular full self driving lane assist which would be pointless.

    This started for me with 2023.32.7. There are a heap of streets where I live in Wodonga Australia where I have this happen. It does not matter whether I am using TACC or Autopilot. It is because Tesla now links Autopilot to the street mapping, and if there are any incorrect give way, stop signs or roundabouts shown on the maps then you get slowed down. It is an absolute pain.

    It’s hard to see but at the pedestrian crossing lights there is a traffic camera on the left hand side going up the hill with what look like either radar speed detectors or infrared lights. Could that be affecting the Tesla ?

    2023.32.9 version update, an issue occurred where cars in the adjacent lane were sensitively. I'm asking if you have the same experience.
    I am also curious about whether there have been improvements in the current software version (2023.44.1).

    My 2018 Subaru Forester has excellent adaptive cruise control. There’s no lane following, but it does a great job of maintaining speed and distance from the car I’m following. Never any phantom braking. No nagging. No tugging on the steering wheel. It’s a great stress reliever, and I use it all the time. It sounds like Tesla Autopilot and TACC add stress rather than reducing it.

    What I noticed with AP in Norway is when I have a navigation set to a location it will break for my junction. Before it used to blow past my turn, but now it breaks before the junction or roundabout to allow me to take over and complete the turn.
    Had a go at a drive earlier without a location set, and had the same problem as you where it started braking at every junction or crossing. Could it be that their junction breaking logic is weird?

    • @TeslaDriver
      @TeslaDriver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have noticed it does this too as if it wants to follow your route but knows it can’t so lets your take over

    • @johand199
      @johand199 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly! So I wonder how it will perform if you enter an address that wants you to continue straight that entire road.
      Will it then understand it shouldn’t break for the “junctions” it is seeing? 🤔
      Btw, great video! :)

    We had a similar issue in a single lane stretch that had a 40 mph limit due to nighttime roadworks. The car automatically dropped the cruise control to 40, but a mile later wanted to do 25mph for about 800yd. Then back up to 40, automatically resetting the cruise control to 60 when getting the national limit sign. No idea why it wanted to go at 25mph - all other controls working perfectly.

  • @unadopted

    I think your braking issues would go away if you turned off the Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control feature. Autopilot is much nicer to use with that turned off.

      Will give this a go and see if that’s the issue 👍🏽

    • @unadopted

      @@TeslaDriver At minimum turning it off will stop it doing that thing you spotted where it briefly flashed a red line in front of you at that hill, as it won’t care about stopping at those anymore. Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control in our non-US builds got kinda abandoned in favour of the other approaches used in FSD beta so it’s a bit of an evolutionary dead-end, so the annoying way it works never got improved unfortunately. AP feels much safer/more confident with it off. At least to me, anyway! Interested to hear what you think.

  • @JellyLancelot
    @JellyLancelot 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I really wish they'd just roll EAP into just 'basic' AP already, as those features would be nice to just have but aren't worth the insane price they're currently asking for it. FSD is a completely wasted purchase in the UK, and even basic AP is really not tuned for UK roads at all. It works 90% of the time for me, and around town I just use TAC. But those 10% of times it doesn't are the most frustrating for sure. Although I'm probably complaining as I'm so used to it already, the fact it drives motorways mostly itself absolutely fine is still magical and a superb driving experience.

    To me it looks like it's having issues with lines across the road. One issue was when the road surface changed to antiskid surface, creating a visible line. The other issues seem to be at the end or start of zigzag lines near a crossing, they have perpendicular line, which the car may treat as a stop line.

    I took delivery of my 2021 Standard Range Model 3 a little over a month ago, and I have basic autopilot. I like it, but I seldom use it on the streets vs. the freeway/highway because It seems to be overly cautious. Braking or hard braking, making me feel like I would get rear ended.

    As a human driver not familiar with that busy and weird looking downhill stretch, I’d be slowing down too too wondering WTF with the the stuff on the road and civil engineering there in general.
    It looks like the system is just trained to be wait to cautious for way to long in potential pedestrian spots. I think the over trained it to not risk hitting a pedestrian to avoid PR and legal losses due to that.
    Probably does it in areas it misidentifies as potential high cross traffic risk spots of highways due to Tesla deaths from that too.

    • @Poxenium
      @Poxenium 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beany8937 Somebody didn't do his homework. Cybertruck is drive by wire, meaning that RHD vs LHD is just a software issue, you can put the steering wheel wherever you want. All Teslas will have it soon. Tesla employees are saying they only have a problem only with pedestrian safety of the CT. @@TeslaDriver AP/EAP is only officially intended to be used on divided highways with clear lane markings, ie a motorway or dual carriageway.
      Even though you can use it on normal streets, it’s not intended for that in the UK at present.
      As for the traffic light and stop signs, they are the only feature they can give people who bought FSD in the UK, and these are present on dual carriageways. Yes they may work on normal streets because the car sees them but that doesn’t mean normal streets are supported.
      Ever wondered why it goes mad or stops if a car is parked on the side of the road on a normal street.

    • @TeslaDriver
      @TeslaDriver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry dude that's not correct, Tesla themselves have said to me in person and online it's safe and legal to use on all clearly marked roads. Here's a description of Autosteer from Tesla UK website which has an accompanying diagram of a single lane curvy road and its available now:
      Autopilot Autosteer
      Using advanced cameras, sensors and computing power, your Tesla will navigate tighter, more complex roads.
      I understand why people think its just for motorways or dual carriageways and its certainly best on those roads but Autopilot is not 'Only' for a certain road type.

    bro, you still don't understand how FSD works? musk explained.....it goes "almost" barebone to the driver, then the driver is the one making it better, not for other drivers, but for its own driving training. the most general situations, like if many teslas disengage in a said place for example.....that are the situations that train the AI overall. Basically at each update the "private" mind of the car is like set to default, it has to "redo" "all" gain, except the cases that many tesla drivers already reported.

    • @TeslaDriver
      @TeslaDriver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I doubt Elon has any idea what’s going on with Autopilot in the UK 😅 why would this make it worse and unusable in situations it’s previously excelled at?

    • @MrCarrico3
      @MrCarrico3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TeslaDriver well, it is in fact getting better in general situations but still failing on more specific situations yet again, because of the poor and not that useful data that can be collected from cars in Europe, and yes the UK is not on the European Union but the rules still apply. Is cheaper for us to make 1 car just to obey all laws of data sharing than one to UK and other to the EU.
