  • The intake on modern diesel engines are prone to carbon deposits because of the EGR set up. This causes poor running and poor fuel efficiency. This 6 part series shows the step by step details to remove the intake, clean the carbon and replace the intake.
This video was done on a 2016 Ford Everest 3.2 with 215,000km. Models may have slight variations but the bulk of what you see here will be the same.

Absolute legend !! Needed to replace my glow plugs, watched your videos a couple of times to see how to remove all the parts to get to the plugs. Took about 3 hrs all in, now sorted and didn't have to pay £224 for the privilege. Thanks mate.

Hi fella. Thank you for a clear, well explained video. Gee those pipes where clogged up. Now you can give them a good clean. Cheers

Hey mate - Thank you SO much for producing this video for us. I followed your video step-for-step over the weekend - your video made the job so easy! Especially loved the tips along the way - the 6mm opened ended spanner to remove the cable clip was incredible. Also used your suggested BBQ cleaner, followed by a packet of BBQ tough cleaning wipes which worked even better. Super grateful of the videos you upload for us!
    Cheers,

Hey mate cheers for the video? I just bought a 2017 ranger 130k on clock at the fleet auction and over the weekend I changed the intercooler hoses over. I noticed a lot of carbon build up in the egr intake like yours. Did you notice any performance loss before your clean? Cheers mate.

Great video. What is the part name of the black plastic hose you pulled off the EGR pipe that was all clogged up?

Are the 3.2s much different than the 2.2?

Thank you for sharing this with us mate. At what point in the odo was the catch can installed? I have one of those ProVent 200 myself, which I installed when I bought my 3.2 Ranger at 63000km and I was hoping that it would take care of the carbon build-up.

It had a catch can installed at about 10,000km but a pipe broke at about 90,000km and I never bothered to fix it so it was back to standard.

@@killawattgarage when I first started as a trainee on a job site I had the bosses hand me down ryobi's, blow up the SDS hammer drill trying to drill through concrete floor to do a penetration, He gave me some money to go buy a new Ryobi SDS hammer drill exact same one that blew up that one only lasted 2 months as well,
I am pretty abusive with my tools,
Even my Milwaukee tools break after 4 to 5 years The only difference is the motors will keep on running it's the other things that break like the truck or the attachments but the motors keep on running
