That's a great idea! I don't need it right now, but I may in the future and it's definitely something I will keep in mind for those stubborn woodruff keys. Despite your upload being 6 yrs ago, Thanks for sharing.

Ah yes, because we all have a weld machine lying around

It worked perfectly for me too. I was staring at my woodruff key on my 1967 GTO engine after changing the timing gears wondering if I should change it, but wanted to make sure I knew of a good way to remove it in case the easy way did not work. I tried the puch a few times, then fabricated your tool. Thanks for the instructions! Kinda fun too making tools too!

What a timely post! This method just saved my bacon when I had a stuck key on a drive shaft of my Yamaha outboard motor. I was sweating bullets 'til I saw your video. Worked like a charm! And I even had a three way clamp on hand! Thanks for the post!

Thanks! I was about 5 minutes from grabbing a dremel and this was a lifesaver.

    Great job.
I have had good success using a 12" Estwing L shaped nail puller...driving the v of the long run of the puller around the key end gives good purchase and leverage.

Thanks for the video! My key didn't have much sticking out to grab so I did this and worked great! Old Arctic cat is gonna be ripping this winter 😁👍

Hi Bob, Thanks. I can't believe I'm the first one to do it like that, but I couldn't find another video showing it so I went ahead and posted it. I definitely didn't expect it to be one of my most watched videos.

You can just use a punch and Ball Peen hammer. Bottom side of wire cutter blades can grip and pull up too

Since I don't have a welder I took your advice and pinched the sides with wire cutters and smacked the cutters with a hammer. It came right out! This was after working on it for a long while with a punch and hammer.

TH-camsucks be careful that sounds flammable.. Isn’t that propane propellant? I see your point Heat one / super cool other. If you can grip it it should come out
