@@BB-sf7jv Hmm I see. I don’t live far from you, then. Perhaps in the suburbs, even of NJ there is a greater sense of community in some small towns but even they are being built up and modernized, many times at the dislike and distrust of the community. Modern life dictates so much and so there is greater freedom to isolate oneself. We have video games, Netflix, Snapchat and this is partaken by many adults as well! You work a tough, long week and every night you can unwind and simply ignore your spouse (like 2 ships passing.) There is a lack of identity and even though I’m not religious I would say that perhaps Christianity and it’s identity kept Americans and the nuclear family together. Same with nationalism, even though these biases are still quite close minded. This is why so many people dislike foreigners because they come from a seemingly different universe with their closely held traditions which we have strayed away from. It’s unfortunate because we are social animals at our core and now anxiety and depression is rampant, especially among the young generation you have an inability to socialize and I believe that it’s even effecting the middle age cohort as well. I’ve always wanted to see the south because I admit mind speaking to strangers and seeing new perspectives. Can I generalize about this (is it a powerful difference) or is it just a few people who are kind hearted and outgoing in the south? Thank you. The undercover boss he behave the way like “he can’t see colors”….only, black or white…friends or enemies, nothing in between.
He labeled the employee pretty early, than minutes later, it didn’t matter anymore of how good or great he performed his job.
Bottom line, he act like a covert trouble-maker and totally ungrateful.
Usually, these kind of bosses, no matter what…they’ll always thriving for some sort of drama.
Whit toxic people it’s extremely hard if not impossible to live or work because they are never ever happy, rather than showing some sides of their irrational, delusional, illogical, chaotically or even some evil skills.

I'm not sure why everyone's siding with the salesperson.
He was asking questions for 3 hours.
Allllll open ended, as a consumer, I'd be asking him for recommendations, or at least somewhat know what I want, he would be there to either say yey, or ney.
    I wouldn't be having a company over for a 3 hour chat.

We were happy with Budget Blinds when they did our windows. They came in, gave us samples. I already had a color scheme in mind and a layout of what was what, and was willing to go outside of what I wanted. And it worked. However, the CEO in this one needs to step back and put themselves into the shoes of the workers. These workers are hands on, interacting with the customers, getting a feel for what they want, and Keith here is making sure the customer gets what they want, just like ours did. You want the customer satisfied so that they recommend Budget Blinds to someone else. That's how businesses grow.

This is the first one I’ve seen where the employee is talking about the specific boss who is undercover, and I think it’s hilarious! 😂
Also, the boss is right about the time it took to make the sale.
From a customer’s point of view, we want someone with a good eye for design and color to expertly guide us.
Most customers are not designers and appreciate quick, efficient evaluation of their needs and preferences, then educated, constructive suggestions on how to manifest the aesthetic they have in mind.
To drag the process out for hours and hours is just draining and may lose customers altogether.

That's another part that comes with experience tho. Experience should be able to help you figure out if it's a customer that knows what they want or someone you should give options to pick from based off of your interaction with them. That being said Keith has had 10 years and hasn't figured this out yet. The personal touch he uses is nice but very time inefficient.

@@JackieC073 Salesmen are supposed to guide you through the choices and get you to arrive at a decision. Taking 3 times as long as the next guy, and not even getting the complete sale at the end of the day is a failure.
You ask questions like "what kind of vibe are you going for in this room?" Based on that, you give options, since you know the 5000 items in your catalogue better than the customer. Your customer provides a vision, and you fill in the details to make that vision a reality.

We narrow down the type of treatment they want, then I give them the same as to look through while I measure the windows. After I'm finished, the clients and I talk about the best fabric/pattern/color choices. It's a client focused, efficient process.
