There is a youtuber called Necrit who covers the lore of each champion. I'm sure if you asked him he would give you a quick rundown on each champion's lore before each video and that could make you understand the choice behind the production Or you could do a game where u guess what the champions are like from their theme alone
I actually prefer if it was after, seeing nato break down each champ theme into pieces that hint of something of the character is one reason to love his reaction even more.
I personnaly found the idea really good but to give him the infos after he listens to the music. Because he won't be influenced by his knowledge. Look here for exemple, without even knowing Pyke, he heard that "underwater" sensation. And confirming it just after is way more stunning !

I actually did ask some of the questions to the person who made this song! He said that the ”hacky” sound at the end and during the music is actually violin ”plucking” like snapping the strings. And yes the music is layered with a voice but it is actually a soft male voice in the background; this blended with the high violin note gives the illusion of a light woman’s voice! Also, you might want to check out Gangplank’s login themes (Captain and Salt Water Scourge) and bilgewater music in general. Volibear and Ornn are very cool too; nordic feeling with drums together with cellos I believe.
Oh you know, To each their own, the only way to make champion theme good is to either portray their story or play style through music, or their personality or what the charecter stands for... through music, which is why volibear/pantheon/rek'sai's themes are soo good.

I love seeing all the little things you notice in each track. If you're looking for a next track, take a listen to the theme of Kindred, the Eternal Hunters. I think you'll have fun with that.
A hard version of the theme is used in the Project Reckoning Login Theme cause it’s Pyke’s theme recycled with the other projects themes. Basically a more electric remix of his theme mixed with others.
FunFact in the Video "A new Dawn" they had an Charackter with an anker (Nautlius). All those sounds were recorded and then rerecorded under water to give it a deep sea sound.

I know I'm 2 months late but first off - IM SO GLAD YOU DID MY FAVORITE CHAMPION AND MAIN!! and second, the main thing I wanted to say after the intro to the video: You're not crazy, and there IS a vocalist actually singing along with the violin soloist! During the two main choruses at least. (Pyke also has like the third or fourth best theme out of every champion in my opinion, too, buuuut there might be just a little bit of bias lmao)
Pyke theme gives me chills every time I hear it since 2018. It is one of the, if not the, best theme's in league, just beside Ornn, Volibear, ASol, Jhin and Camille.
I am SO happy to see you experiencing Pyke's theme song, and I would HIGHLY recommend to listen to tahm Kensh's tale (or the theme alone) although I'd recommed it with the tale for the spooky story vibes :)
I would recommend ALL login screens of the Dark Star skin line, which would be Dark Star Thresh, Dark Star 2017, Dark Star Cho'gath and Dark Cosmic Jhin. All very well made Cosmic Horror skin line with super good music

They might have used an ehru for that string section thats sounds like vocals. Ehru is a traditional Chinese bowed instrument that can achieve a near human voice timbre. They're REALLY neat when used in backing or dynamic sections and can create some uncanny sounds.

Game of Thrones vibes? The sound actually reminds me more of Hans Zimmer’s work on the Sherlock Holmes films starting Downey Jr. Or Blood on the Cobblestones by Mikolai Stroinski for the Witcher 3 soundtrack. I swear they need to come up with a genre for this style of music. Baroque/Victorian/Gothic symphony or something.
They nailed the "slasher villain" and "tragic figure" vibes concurrently with this theme. You get the sense that you should simultaneously empathize with this man, while also being absolutely terrified of him.
This song is why I fell in love with Pyke's gameplay (well, he is a support and I'm a support main but that doesn't matter), I'd say I even enjoy it more than Jhin's.
There's a video riot made of the process they went through in recording this track. They also made similar videos fire ornn and, I believe volibear as well.
