Something else you may want to do if you have all your crafters at 90 is to get a bunch of Grand Company seals so you can buy a bunch of Grade 9 Dark Matter from your Grand Company when the expansion releases.
There may not be any Grade 9 Dark Matter. Consider this, Grade 7 was released in 4.0 and was used to repair gear from 4.0-5.5; meanwhile, Grade 8 was released in 6.0 and if it follows the same pattern will repair gear from 6.0-7.x. Grade 9 would be released in 8.0 if it follows this pattern.
@@karasutsuki1733 I agree with this as well; although it is really easy to farm GC seals to make Grade 8 DM "free", you can technically use those seals to buy cheaper items, sell them on the MB, use the gil to buy DM, and make a profit.
Don't wave off sidequest exp. The scaling of them means they're BETTER sources of exp closer to 80 than 90. At level 80-81, they provide 2.5% of the exp required to next level. At level 89, they provide 1.75% of the exp required to reach 90. Pre-release, you can stack 26 side quests (you'll need 3 slots free for combat tribals and the 1 for the new job quest), then rapid-fire turn them in for about 65+% of your level, do 6 additional side quests, then your tribals and you'll reach 81 without needing to spend your WT book. You can save that for a 50% EXP bump to reach the next required level for a dungeon after a couple runs of the 81 dungeon. Then, since the DPS queue is bound to be horrible, do your hunts while you wait, do fates for the challenge log, etc.
@@churros724 Best to get a set of haste gear and the riding maps if selecting this option. Zadnor (specifically the 3rd area) is the priority zone. Honestly, I'm very curious how Viper works in Bozja and Eureka if you have haste gear equipped.
A note about Menphina's Earring (and presumably Azeyma's Earring): I've read that it also works when you get synced into dungeons, trials, and raids. If you're, say, at level 93 but you get synced into level 50 Praetorium, Menphina's Earring will still give an XP bonus for running the dungeon.
Important for anyone that wants to fantasia as SOON as the expansion drops: Get naked and drink a fantasia BEFORE the maintenance! If you do, you won't have to sit through the log-in queue just to do that, log out, change, and then log in again. Edit: This is primarily for the people that over-prepared before the free fanta announcement (like me). You cannot do this if your only fantasia will be the free one, as it's only available after the update proper. In that case, ignore this advice. Also ignore this advice if you are unsure if the fantasia 60 minute timer changes will affect fantasias prior to the update and don't feel like risking it. Addendum advice from someone who had been through all of the expansions: Find something to do while you're waiting in queue. If we're lucky, queues won't be 3+ hours long, but if we're unlucky, having a book or shows to catch up on is always good to have in the pocket, just in case. Discords will most definitely have a ton of people waiting too, as well as streamers and their respective chats, if you're the social sort and want to talk to people.
I actually don't think I would suggest this one. With the launch of Dawntrail, using a fantasia will be a 60-minute in-game status on the character that will allow you to re-edit the character again if you feel the need. I'm not sure that this will apply to fantasias you drink prior to the expansion launching. So unless you're 100% confident in the changes you plan on making, you're probably better off just fighting the extra queues to go in and out twice.

It should go without saying, but make sure you grab a few of the rarer dyes, whether to sell them, or to have them on hand for the 2-dye channels. the price of dyes is absolutely going to go up, especially for ones like Pure White or Jet Black, or Gunmetal Black dye
Importantly for people doing roulettes. Don't forget the PvP roulette, it gives massive experience and you can queue up as one job and then change once in the instance. For DPS players, especially new pictos and vipers, this might be one of the only roulettes with shorter queue times at launch. Also, remember to check the party finder, there will be some parties up for people looking for others to do dungeons with.

@@CosmicCoreysome people want to do the expansion story on the new jobs. They start 10 levels below the old level cap and Dawntrail starts at 90 so you’ll need to grind out some levels first.
Don't worry if you don't do anything of these speed level tips, it will only add like 1-2 hours more of grinding. It takes normally like 3-5 hours to go from 80-90, so it isn't really a big deal
This seems like a low estimate if you don’t have a group to do dungeons with. It’s probably going to be faster to level in Zadnor for most people, for the majority of players.

I've gotten into many parts of this game that I didn't expect to, so one day I thought why not try crafting out.. 2 years later my highest level crafter is still 36 lol..
For the FC I always prep one month of grade 3 buffs for leveling jobs, crafters and gatherers before expansion releases, but this time I overdid it and made 2 months for leveling jobs because I started prepping the buffs more earlier than usual XD,
For the challenge log prep, while you're prepping the dungeons (since you'll do 4 total: 2 non rou + 2 rou) just also give player comms when you do those. It'll put you at 4/5 so in DT after you do 1 dungeon you'll complete 3 challenges all at once. Can also do a Leveling Rou to complete them since the daily reset is later than the weekly reset.
The advice to avoid being level locked during the MSQ sounds better than it should. I remember leveling multiple Alts through EW MSQ, barely getting stuck at around 86 to 87 multiple times so it might really be a good idea to keep that book handy
just finished my final crafter to 90, feels good to hit that goal and be able to have a cool down period before the release, now its just log in and check retainers daily/island daily and were done
Its worth noting exp rings/earrings work after out leveling the restriction when level synced, so with last expansions earring, it capped at 80, i could be level 85 and get....stone vgil...and the exp will apply if you re equip it
A very important one is to CLEAN YOUR INVENTORIES as much as possible. There are 3 main reasons. 1- You will be getting a lot of items and gear from MSQ, and you don't want to be stuck having to manage inventory when everyone is doing MSQ and you might potentially get a lot of random disconnections. 2- Under high loads, things like retainers take a lot of time to load. You might get stuck at the bell waiting for your retainer to arrive for a whole minute. So make sure you have no business with a retainer for at least the first day or two of early access. 3- Every time you zone into a new area or duty, all of your character's inventories also need to be loaded into that place( except for chocobo saddlebag in instanced duties). So in theory, if everyone has a minimal inventory before launch, we all will have a smoother experience. Normally, how many items you are holding in your inventory/armory/saddlebag don't matter, but with so many people online at the same time, it might add up.
Now that the Shadow Data Center is being uploaded, and since the Shadow Data Center is a probationary server which is completely barren of new characters(since probationary means that you can't make or transfer your character there and is only a vessel for data center travel), there won't be as many high loads for retainers anymore because the Shadow Centers won't be able to use retainers and all of the people who aren't using their retainers will go off there reduce the loads heavily. (They are going to incentivize people to play on those four Shadow worlds. You can be your booty I'll be there!)
Unlocking the checkpoint floor in Eureka orthos for quick 10 floor exp runs is something I'm thinking will be really useful since I'm not going to be able to stomach sitting in dps roulette queues behind everyone else who wants to level new jobs, so all dps deep dungeon runs are on my to-do list for release.
Don't bother with transmutation for materia as it isn't worth it in any capacity for getting grade 11s. Couple folks from balance went down a math rabbit hole to figure out if it is worth it, and you need something like 45k materia to get enough materia for a crafting meld setup.
the double book strat feels like a powerful hidden cheat lol - even with the buffed quest exp you could totally reach a level block in both ew and shb (the ones fresh in my memory due to alts) if you tried to speedrun the msq without any side quest whatsoever. Usually a leveling or msq roulette would solve it but that takes you out of the expansion mood and can be "boring". Personally I just follow along with the blue aether current quests + any easy fates on the road and that solves it all. Good tips though! Definitely gonna try getting some of those squadron manuals...
You do realize that doing double book also means that you'll need to take a break from expansion stuff to complete the 2nd book, right? You can only prep 1 book ahead of time.
@@phiefer3 There's a work around with "second chances", specifically retry. You only need to do one easy activity like an ARR ex trial, quickly clear in a few seconds (the book allows you to do content unsynced and solo), hit retry and do it again until you complete the book. At most you'll spend about 5 minutes, if that. Granted, you'll likely give up the better rewards, but if your interest is solely about levelling, it's the most efficient way for the 2nd book.
@@phiefer3 You dont need to do the 2nd book immediately. You might want to if you are specifically trying to get VPR or PCT leveled to 90 quickly to start new content but you have 11 days until July 9th to finish it can claim the rewards from the new book which is more than enough time for most people to do the new content and the book. Turning in the June 18th book before early access just wastes 50% of a level of experience points for anyone that currently has no jobs to level for no reason.
@@Lord_Raviel I was specifically responding to the OP who was specifically talking about doing 2 books, and specifically mentioned that roulettes took you out of the expansion mood. I was just pointing out that completing the second book (which is required to do 2 books) takes out "out of the expansion mood" as well.
Hopefully when DT launches (if they add a new hunt currency) they add buyable aetheryte tickets to buy with sacks of nuts. Dont know why you cant already.
If anyone talks about getting more dyes to make money off of, keep in mind, theres already been thousands and thousands of people who have had the same exact idea. Because that's the most obvious thing you could think of. Don't go overboard, dont pump a ton of money into it. In fact, most buyers might be gathering up dyes prior for THEMSELVES because they expect prices to maybe go up and they know they're going to need them in the future. If anything, this might be the best time to level up carpenter if you haven't and look forward to making new Furnishings because those might have two dye channels as well that people might swap out their own furnishings for.
OPM- "other people's money". I've learned to never use my own money to "buy low", "sell higher". the market board is so volatile. Ok retainers- on you mark, get set, GO! all my rets are on quick missions to get coffers for dyes. been piling up for months. Fantasy Island is great as well for dyes. .
For those planning to beeline the MSQ as a dps within the first few hours of launch: when you unlock the 91 dungeon, instead of queueing directly for the dungeon, queue for leveling roulette instead. With all the people leveling VPR and PCT at 80 and any and all tanks/healers being pulled into their roulettes, lvl 91+ dps will be in high demand and it's very likely you'll get your newly-unlocked dungeon in your roulette within a few minutes. You'll get the normal dungeon exp, the roulette exp before daily reset, and exp for any CLs you have prepped. (I've done this at both ShB and EW launch - the queue is pretty quick and it gives a pretty significant exp boost.) Additionally, you can try to do the same thing after daily reset for the 93 dungeon, though there's a somewhat higher chance you get pulled back into the 91 dungeon. Do so at your own risk, but at worse, you'll get some more exp from quick dungeon run.
@@DarthSanguineThis advice is more for people who prefer queueing up with other players and/or people who want to min-max exp gains to level a 2nd job through MSQ. Obviously, run with trusts if you prefer it that way.
As for the crystals & shards - I wanted to have plenty - so all of my retainers have almost full stack of each crystal and shard, and a large chunk of each cluster. For crafters and gatherers - since crafted gear will be dropping same day of savage - and if you're a crafting nutjob like I am - you'll want to get those leveled fast do the grand company supply and provision turn ins, those are GREAT for XP, collectables, and beast tribes - also look for the engineering and survival manuals - not sure if there will be new ones, but I can't imagine why there wouldn't be.
it will start with it's own gear, you can give it level 80 poetic gear as an upgrade, which shoudl last you to like 85ish, have some crafted gear ready to go for 85-ish to 89, and then you can give it the new poetic gear at 90

The Beast tribe thing is correct. HOWEVER. if your reps are not maxed you can get it 1-3 quests for the next rank and you get the dailies reset for that Beast Tribe.

So I been hoarding weapon and armor crates to open when I’m a viper for levin weapon for example will that work or will it not be usable for new classes
since it's a new job, viper/picto won't have all EX weapons back-added. if you tried to open a levin coffer as Reaper today, for instance, you'd get an error, because no ramuh EX scythe was ever added. you can expect new dungeon and crafted weapons in Endwalker content, and they seem to go back and add specifically weapons of the Heavens/Round from Thordan's Reign; but no, most coffers (including the ARR trial ones) won't work for the new jobs.
4:50 Definitely not worth worrying about gear from the level 89 dungeon, since that one only drops accessories. If anything, you might as well just craft the level 88 gear or just hope your level 87 gear can carry you for the next few levels.
I finished the MSQ about a month ago, my big goal the next 2 weeks is getting all my non main jobs to 80 to clear out a lot of retainer space from all the tomb gear I had been saving up at levels 60 / 70 / 80
If you're planning on leveling Picto or Viper immediately, you can save yourself a bit of time by writing macros to put all the abilities on your bars. You can look at any of their preview guides and guestimate where their abilities should be where you want them. You'll probably need to do some adjustments, but it's still a time saver.
If you are a new 'free trial player' my advice is not to wait but to give it a go now. Free trial players do not get log in priority when there are queues. If you have bought a copy of the game (I believe any expac copy) then wait if you wish but there is truely no reason to do so. Everyone is starting to roll back in to catch up on prep, connect back with friends and their raid teams and its already basically 'pre launch' vibes in game. But also still not launch so folk have more time to invite new players to groups, free companies and aid in content. And are running older content due to many in game events right now.
You know I wonder about level 89 gear. There are dungeon accessories but the left side gear is all artifact gear. I wonder if Viper/Picto will get a filler set to buy at the same stage of the msq. Not a full unique AF set, that will be at 100. But I think they added filler sets at 80 for sage and reaper so they should be able to just pick up level 89 gear for free anyway in old sharlyan I think.
They only did that for reaper and sage with the tempest dude because it was required for the story. I don’t think the Sharlayan one was. She unlocks via the story yeah, but the gear wasn’t needed to be bought. If they do add it, it’ll be the same models as their 80/starter gear just renamed
@@Oiamh_TheWolf18 It fills the same need as the Tempest gear did though. Someone playing the game for the first time as viper or picto won't have access to any level 89/90 left side gear if they don't add it. It's really no less required for the story than the Tempest gear was. The only real differnces is that this gear comes a level earlier and then scales up to 90. And the MSQ does go out of its way to introduce the boutique and get you the gear the same way it did in Tempest. It's just that instead of needing to do role quests to unlock the gear, the role quests just make it dyable. So I'll be surprised if they don't add it here. THough yeah it'll probably just be the same set visually as their starting gear.
How quick is Bozja for levelling the early 80+ levels (or at least 80-81)? Just trying to think of as many different things to do for these 10 levels rather than spamming dungeons.
Honestly I intend to just do roulettes to bump to 81 (msq and leveling should cover it), then orthos to 90. I'm gonna be taking it a bit slower so I can probably afford to do roulettes at keystone levels.
From what I understand after some changes it's better to grind highest non-lvlcap dungeon you can. So at lvl 80 you wanna grind lvl 76 or whatever is the highest non lvl 80 you can run.
@@madmulk9 Orthos is less efficient than Zadnor, and new DPS jobs will rarely get roulette pops for dungeons. Might even be close to an hour at times for roulettes on dps jobs at the start of an expansion. Healers and tanks will quickly get through though.
@@The_Yukki It is better and more efficient provided you have either a tank or healer friend. If you don't you'll have to depend on trusts, in which case Zadnor becomes a bit more efficient.
While you cant accept Tribe quests on job and turn them in on another, it is still worth to advance your reputation just far enough that the next quests will rank you up. With early access you can turn in your tribe quests with one of the new jobs, rank up and by this reset the tribe quests for another 3 quests. So with the daily reset you might be able to turn in 9 quests in one day.
I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to take Pictomancer through the MSQ or not. I'll also unlock Viper but I'm DEFINITELY NOT taking it through the MSQ as there will be plenty of those already. One thing that saddened me with my first MSQ run of Endwalker is that I took Summoner which was my main for the previous two expansions and it became very clear to me as I went through the MSQ that the job was just no longer for me. I've mostly been maining MCH and Reaper this expansion and I had an absolute BLAST taking Reaper through the MSQ on my alt which I could totally see myself doing again with Viper but for my FIRST MSQ run on my main account I really want to play a job that's just really fun and Picto has peaked my curiosity...but I'm slightly worried about the long cast-times as well as what the job feels like to play BEFORE level 100 which people didn't really elaborate much about in the media tour. Worse come to worse, I'll just stick to the old American method and destroy the New World with guns and high powered explosives...but I also still like the idea of taking a more "artistic" approach to this new land.
IMHO- better to use a job you're familiar with to get through MSQ. You'll be learning all new actions and rotation whilst learning mechs from new MSQ dungeons. I'll be doing healer for short queues, BobRoss-o-lancer and Viper on side while learning their new actions. Melee and magic ranged to kick a$$ when I need to..
Orthos has one hit kill enemies that can seriously hurt your efficiency, not to mention the queues aren't that popular, and it's not the most efficient XP grind. Not a bad option if you want something from Orthos at the same time, but there are better options otherwise.
Zadnor's 3rd zone is far more efficient for levelling from 80-90 than going through Orthos. This is conditional on a few things though: Having a riding map and being max rank in Zadnor (having haste gear can help, but isn't necessary). Provided you can move quickly around the 3rd zone, you'll level much faster than in Orthos.

Picked it up again and starting back at level 80 on SMN (trying to figure the rotation out) I just bought both Endgame & Dawntrail so I have a whole expansion to complete or as close to completion as possible. You could just comm after the 4 dungeons...then again after the lvling roulette during early access to get the 5 comms challenge...no need for guildhests.
The number one thing to do for me is to not burn myself and just enjoy. We have months and then years to catch up with anything in this game and rushing is a receipt for not enjoying the story or the painfully constructed world well enough.
people want to rush the leveling part so they can get to enjoy the story and the world.. lol. They don't wanna do the same levelling as they have for the past 2 years for the first day of the new expansion
People rush to avoid story spoilers. Also more people are generally available in the open world zones, making clearing fates a lot easier. Dungeon queues are also going to be filled very quickly. Newer zones quickly become dead, as once content is over, most people gravitate back towards Limsa. So if you want the MMO experience, you'll need to be there launch month

I tested this out on an alt. I'm trying to get Viper to 90 asap on release. And by preparing 29 EW sidequests (You need one open slot to accept the job quest) turning those in will net you just short of lvl 81. (It's about 5.9m out out of just short of 6m) Which means you can save your WT for later on. I started doing the quests in sharlyan but they are too spread out so I chose Ultima Thule and Thavnair. Also by postponing the WT. Lvl 80 WT gives you 5.9m. While 89 gives you 10.8m. So postponing as long as possible will give you the greatest amount. I'm saving them to push me instantly from 89>90.
crafters on lvl 90; classes i want to play on lvl 90 and min. of 640 gear; 5000 teleporttickets; 6000 marks for my vendors; 1 extra chars inventory complete full of materia; lvl 80 gear for the viper in arsenal ready; mainchars inventory clean and clear. i cant await to play!
Given that hunts have gear in 7.0 it's very likely we're getting a new type of hunt seal in the New World. SE isn't gonna let us spend 4k on 100 level equipment, thats just not happening haha.
Some of these like challenge logs are really unnecessary since you're likely to run dungeons, do fates, etc, prior to patch day. If anything, you just need to be careful not to accidentally complete them before early access.
I want to add if you're a slacker like me and did no side quests in EndWalker you can prep 28 quests(i chose Garlemald) and have them pre-completed and drop them on your VPR/PCT 87 for a boost.
All I remember for EW is this dude went with a tank, 2 blue mages and him as a reaper and just straight up grinded out 10 levels of dungeons to get to 80.
Not looking forward to leveling picto from 80-90. Those of us who don’t have a group we can do dungeons with will likely be in Zadnor for much of this period. DPS dungeon queues are going to be out of control. I wish there were better overworld leveling techniques.
Good as always, but I think we all know that you really won't gain that much from any of these methods. Just doing the MSQ/Roulette will work just about as well.
I really wish they would make gathering, fishing, easier and faster. Hunting more streamlined with timers, locations and faster respawns without the need of any triggering events and just overall faster and easier everything. There’s way too many games coming out to spend 50hours a week on this game alone, on top of working and dealing with family. Rip

A note about Menphina's Earring (and presumably Azeyma's Earring): I've read that it also works when you get synced into dungeons, trials, and raids. If you're, say, at level 93 but you get synced into level 50 Praetorium, Menphina's Earring will still give an XP bonus for running the dungeon.

Important for anyone that wants to fantasia as SOON as the expansion drops: Get naked and drink a fantasia BEFORE the maintenance! If you do, you won't have to sit through the log-in queue just to do that, log out, change, and then log in again.
Edit: This is primarily for the people that over-prepared before the free fanta announcement (like me). You cannot do this if your only fantasia will be the free one, as it's only available after the update proper. In that case, ignore this advice. Also ignore this advice if you are unsure if the fantasia 60 minute timer changes will affect fantasias prior to the update and don't feel like risking it.
Addendum advice from someone who had been through all of the expansions: Find something to do while you're waiting in queue. If we're lucky, queues won't be 3+ hours long, but if we're unlucky, having a book or shows to catch up on is always good to have in the pocket, just in case. Discords will most definitely have a ton of people waiting too, as well as streamers and their respective chats, if you're the social sort and want to talk to people.
I actually don't think I would suggest this one.
With the launch of Dawntrail, using a fantasia will be a 60-minute in-game status on the character that will allow you to re-edit the character again if you feel the need. I'm not sure that this will apply to fantasias you drink prior to the expansion launching. So unless you're 100% confident in the changes you plan on making, you're probably better off just fighting the extra queues to go in and out twice.

It should go without saying, but make sure you grab a few of the rarer dyes, whether to sell them, or to have them on hand for the 2-dye channels. the price of dyes is absolutely going to go up, especially for ones like Pure White or Jet Black, or Gunmetal Black dye

Importantly for people doing roulettes. Don't forget the PvP roulette, it gives massive experience and you can queue up as one job and then change once in the instance. For DPS players, especially new pictos and vipers, this might be one of the only roulettes with shorter queue times at launch. Also, remember to check the party finder, there will be some parties up for people looking for others to do dungeons with.

@@CosmicCoreysome people want to do the expansion story on the new jobs. They start 10 levels below the old level cap and Dawntrail starts at 90 so you’ll need to grind out some levels first.
Don't worry if you don't do anything of these speed level tips, it will only add like 1-2 hours more of grinding. It takes normally like 3-5 hours to go from 80-90, so it isn't really a big deal
Not to mention we have 2+ years to hit lv.100, and that last 6-7 months is spent bitching about how there's nothing to do. You've got time.
This seems like a low estimate if you don’t have a group to do dungeons with. It’s probably going to be faster to level in Zadnor for most people, for the majority of players.

For the FC I always prep one month of grade 3 buffs for leveling jobs, crafters and gatherers before expansion releases, but this time I overdid it and made 2 months for leveling jobs because I started prepping the buffs more earlier than usual XD,
For the challenge log prep, while you're prepping the dungeons (since you'll do 4 total: 2 non rou + 2 rou) just also give player comms when you do those. It'll put you at 4/5 so in DT after you do 1 dungeon you'll complete 3 challenges all at once. Can also do a Leveling Rou to complete them since the daily reset is later than the weekly reset.
The advice to avoid being level locked during the MSQ sounds better than it should. I remember leveling multiple Alts through EW MSQ, barely getting stuck at around 86 to 87 multiple times so it might really be a good idea to keep that book handy
just finished my final crafter to 90, feels good to hit that goal and be able to have a cool down period before the release, now its just log in and check retainers daily/island daily and were done

Its worth noting exp rings/earrings work after out leveling the restriction when level synced, so with last expansions earring, it capped at 80, i could be level 85 and get....stone vgil...and the exp will apply if you re equip it
A very important one is to CLEAN YOUR INVENTORIES as much as possible. There are 3 main reasons.
1- You will be getting a lot of items and gear from MSQ, and you don't want to be stuck having to manage inventory when everyone is doing MSQ and you might potentially get a lot of random disconnections.
2- Under high loads, things like retainers take a lot of time to load. You might get stuck at the bell waiting for your retainer to arrive for a whole minute. So make sure you have no business with a retainer for at least the first day or two of early access.
3- Every time you zone into a new area or duty, all of your character's inventories also need to be loaded into that place( except for chocobo saddlebag in instanced duties). So in theory, if everyone has a minimal inventory before launch, we all will have a smoother experience. Normally, how many items you are holding in your inventory/armory/saddlebag don't matter, but with so many people online at the same time, it might add up.
Now that the Shadow Data Center is being uploaded, and since the Shadow Data Center is a probationary server which is completely barren of new characters(since probationary means that you can't make or transfer your character there and is only a vessel for data center travel), there won't be as many high loads for retainers anymore because the Shadow Centers won't be able to use retainers and all of the people who aren't using their retainers will go off there reduce the loads heavily. (They are going to incentivize people to play on those four Shadow worlds. You can be your booty I'll be there!)
Unlocking the checkpoint floor in Eureka orthos for quick 10 floor exp runs is something I'm thinking will be really useful since I'm not going to be able to stomach sitting in dps roulette queues behind everyone else who wants to level new jobs, so all dps deep dungeon runs are on my to-do list for release.
I probably won't do much of any of this so I don't burn out before the expansion drops. 😅

Don't bother with transmutation for materia as it isn't worth it in any capacity for getting grade 11s. Couple folks from balance went down a math rabbit hole to figure out if it is worth it, and you need something like 45k materia to get enough materia for a crafting meld setup.

the double book strat feels like a powerful hidden cheat lol - even with the buffed quest exp you could totally reach a level block in both ew and shb (the ones fresh in my memory due to alts) if you tried to speedrun the msq without any side quest whatsoever. Usually a leveling or msq roulette would solve it but that takes you out of the expansion mood and can be "boring". Personally I just follow along with the blue aether current quests + any easy fates on the road and that solves it all. Good tips though! Definitely gonna try getting some of those squadron manuals...
You do realize that doing double book also means that you'll need to take a break from expansion stuff to complete the 2nd book, right? You can only prep 1 book ahead of time.
@@phiefer3 There's a work around with "second chances", specifically retry. You only need to do one easy activity like an ARR ex trial, quickly clear in a few seconds (the book allows you to do content unsynced and solo), hit retry and do it again until you complete the book. At most you'll spend about 5 minutes, if that. Granted, you'll likely give up the better rewards, but if your interest is solely about levelling, it's the most efficient way for the 2nd book.

You might want to if you are specifically trying to get VPR or PCT leveled to 90 quickly to start new content but you have 11 days until July 9th to finish it can claim the rewards from the new book which is more than enough time for most people to do the new content and the book.
Turning in the June 18th book before early access just wastes 50% of a level of experience points for anyone that currently has no jobs to level for no reason.

I was just pointing out that completing the second book (which is required to do 2 books) takes out "out of the expansion mood" as well.

If anyone talks about getting more dyes to make money off of, keep in mind, theres already been thousands and thousands of people who have had the same exact idea. Because that's the most obvious thing you could think of. Don't go overboard, dont pump a ton of money into it.
In fact, most buyers might be gathering up dyes prior for THEMSELVES because they expect prices to maybe go up and they know they're going to need them in the future.
If anything, this might be the best time to level up carpenter if you haven't and look forward to making new Furnishings because those might have two dye channels as well that people might swap out their own furnishings for.
OPM- "other people's money". I've learned to never use my own money to "buy low", "sell higher". the market board is so volatile. Ok retainers- on you mark, get set, GO! all my rets are on quick missions to get coffers for dyes. been piling up for months. Fantasy Island is great as well for dyes. .
the command mission buffs are also really good if you plan to DC hop because of ques. You don't have to worry about not having that 15%

For those planning to beeline the MSQ as a dps within the first few hours of launch: when you unlock the 91 dungeon, instead of queueing directly for the dungeon, queue for leveling roulette instead. With all the people leveling VPR and PCT at 80 and any and all tanks/healers being pulled into their roulettes, lvl 91+ dps will be in high demand and it's very likely you'll get your newly-unlocked dungeon in your roulette within a few minutes. You'll get the normal dungeon exp, the roulette exp before daily reset, and exp for any CLs you have prepped. (I've done this at both ShB and EW launch - the queue is pretty quick and it gives a pretty significant exp boost.)
Additionally, you can try to do the same thing after daily reset for the 93 dungeon, though there's a somewhat higher chance you get pulled back into the 91 dungeon. Do so at your own risk, but at worse, you'll get some more exp from quick dungeon run.
Or, y'know, just use Duty Support. That is literally what it was implemented for.
@@DarthSanguineThis advice is more for people who prefer queueing up with other players and/or people who want to min-max exp gains to level a 2nd job through MSQ. Obviously, run with trusts if you prefer it that way.
With this being an expac with 2 new dps, it may be more likely to work, but it is still random.
This works for trials too. I got Zodiark instantly with trial roulette after queueing up regularly for almost an hour.
As for the crystals & shards - I wanted to have plenty - so all of my retainers have almost full stack of each crystal and shard, and a large chunk of each cluster.
For crafters and gatherers - since crafted gear will be dropping same day of savage - and if you're a crafting nutjob like I am - you'll want to get those leveled fast
do the grand company supply and provision turn ins, those are GREAT for XP, collectables, and beast tribes - also look for the engineering and survival manuals - not sure if there will be new ones, but I can't imagine why there wouldn't be.
5:05 level 89 dungeon only drops RHS in EW so it wouldn't really make much sense trying to farm it anyways.

it will start with it's own gear, you can give it level 80 poetic gear as an upgrade, which shoudl last you to like 85ish, have some crafted gear ready to go for 85-ish to 89, and then you can give it the new poetic gear at 90

The Beast tribe thing is correct. HOWEVER. if your reps are not maxed you can get it 1-3 quests for the next rank and you get the dailies reset for that Beast Tribe.

So I been hoarding weapon and armor crates to open when I’m a viper for levin weapon for example will that work or will it not be usable for new classes
since it's a new job, viper/picto won't have all EX weapons back-added. if you tried to open a levin coffer as Reaper today, for instance, you'd get an error, because no ramuh EX scythe was ever added. you can expect new dungeon and crafted weapons in Endwalker content, and they seem to go back and add specifically weapons of the Heavens/Round from Thordan's Reign; but no, most coffers (including the ARR trial ones) won't work for the new jobs.

I finished the MSQ about a month ago, my big goal the next 2 weeks is getting all my non main jobs to 80 to clear out a lot of retainer space from all the tomb gear I had been saving up at levels 60 / 70 / 80
If you're planning on leveling Picto or Viper immediately, you can save yourself a bit of time by writing macros to put all the abilities on your bars. You can look at any of their preview guides and guestimate where their abilities should be where you want them. You'll probably need to do some adjustments, but it's still a time saver.
What about for a new player trying to hold off till expansion launch to play? :P
If you are a new 'free trial player' my advice is not to wait but to give it a go now. Free trial players do not get log in priority when there are queues.
If you have bought a copy of the game (I believe any expac copy) then wait if you wish but there is truely no reason to do so. Everyone is starting to roll back in to catch up on prep, connect back with friends and their raid teams and its already basically 'pre launch' vibes in game. But also still not launch so folk have more time to invite new players to groups, free companies and aid in content. And are running older content due to many in game events right now.

You know I wonder about level 89 gear. There are dungeon accessories but the left side gear is all artifact gear. I wonder if Viper/Picto will get a filler set to buy at the same stage of the msq. Not a full unique AF set, that will be at 100. But I think they added filler sets at 80 for sage and reaper so they should be able to just pick up level 89 gear for free anyway in old sharlyan I think.
They only did that for reaper and sage with the tempest dude because it was required for the story. I don’t think the Sharlayan one was. She unlocks via the story yeah, but the gear wasn’t needed to be bought.
If they do add it, it’ll be the same models as their 80/starter gear just renamed

Someone playing the game for the first time as viper or picto won't have access to any level 89/90 left side gear if they don't add it.
It's really no less required for the story than the Tempest gear was. The only real differnces is that this gear comes a level earlier and then scales up to 90. And the MSQ does go out of its way to introduce the boutique and get you the gear the same way it did in Tempest. It's just that instead of needing to do role quests to unlock the gear, the role quests just make it dyable.
So I'll be surprised if they don't add it here. THough yeah it'll probably just be the same set visually as their starting gear.
How quick is Bozja for levelling the early 80+ levels (or at least 80-81)? Just trying to think of as many different things to do for these 10 levels rather than spamming dungeons.
Honestly I intend to just do roulettes to bump to 81 (msq and leveling should cover it), then orthos to 90. I'm gonna be taking it a bit slower so I can probably afford to do roulettes at keystone levels.
From what I understand after some changes it's better to grind highest non-lvlcap dungeon you can. So at lvl 80 you wanna grind lvl 76 or whatever is the highest non lvl 80 you can run.
@@madmulk9 Orthos is less efficient than Zadnor, and new DPS jobs will rarely get roulette pops for dungeons. Might even be close to an hour at times for roulettes on dps jobs at the start of an expansion. Healers and tanks will quickly get through though.
@@The_Yukki It is better and more efficient provided you have either a tank or healer friend. If you don't you'll have to depend on trusts, in which case Zadnor becomes a bit more efficient.

I would max out on bicolor gemstones so you can get those riding maps as soon as possible
you still have to do 10 fates before you can unlock the riding maps from the vendor, so you don't have to be at max stones.

While you cant accept Tribe quests on job and turn them in on another, it is still worth to advance your reputation just far enough that the next quests will rank you up. With early access you can turn in your tribe quests with one of the new jobs, rank up and by this reset the tribe quests for another 3 quests. So with the daily reset you might be able to turn in 9 quests in one day.

I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to take Pictomancer through the MSQ or not. I'll also unlock Viper but I'm DEFINITELY NOT taking it through the MSQ as there will be plenty of those already. One thing that saddened me with my first MSQ run of Endwalker is that I took Summoner which was my main for the previous two expansions and it became very clear to me as I went through the MSQ that the job was just no longer for me. I've mostly been maining MCH and Reaper this expansion and I had an absolute BLAST taking Reaper through the MSQ on my alt which I could totally see myself doing again with Viper but for my FIRST MSQ run on my main account I really want to play a job that's just really fun and Picto has peaked my curiosity...but I'm slightly worried about the long cast-times as well as what the job feels like to play BEFORE level 100 which people didn't really elaborate much about in the media tour. Worse come to worse, I'll just stick to the old American method and destroy the New World with guns and high powered explosives...but I also still like the idea of taking a more "artistic" approach to this new land.
IMHO- better to use a job you're familiar with to get through MSQ. You'll be learning all new actions and rotation whilst learning mechs from new MSQ dungeons. I'll be doing healer for short queues, BobRoss-o-lancer and Viper on side while learning their new actions. Melee and magic ranged to kick a$$ when I need to..

Orthos has one hit kill enemies that can seriously hurt your efficiency, not to mention the queues aren't that popular, and it's not the most efficient XP grind.
Not a bad option if you want something from Orthos at the same time, but there are better options otherwise.
Zadnor's 3rd zone is far more efficient for levelling from 80-90 than going through Orthos. This is conditional on a few things though: Having a riding map and being max rank in Zadnor (having haste gear can help, but isn't necessary). Provided you can move quickly around the 3rd zone, you'll level much faster than in Orthos.

The number one thing to do for me is to not burn myself and just enjoy. We have months and then years to catch up with anything in this game and rushing is a receipt for not enjoying the story or the painfully constructed world well enough.

People rush to avoid story spoilers. Also more people are generally available in the open world zones, making clearing fates a lot easier. Dungeon queues are also going to be filled very quickly. Newer zones quickly become dead, as once content is over, most people gravitate back towards Limsa. So if you want the MMO experience, you'll need to be there launch month

Levequests still exist? Bruh I just did the tribal quests, custom deliveries, and those special crafting delivery quests
Levequests are still the most efficient way of levelling crafters. You just need to find the levequest npc in the new major city.
I’m going into MSQ as one of the new jobs for the first time, so I need as much EXP for my Viper as I can get on Day 1 of Early Access
I tested this out on an alt. I'm trying to get Viper to 90 asap on release. And by preparing 29 EW sidequests (You need one open slot to accept the job quest) turning those in will net you just short of lvl 81. (It's about 5.9m out out of just short of 6m) Which means you can save your WT for later on. I started doing the quests in sharlyan but they are too spread out so I chose Ultima Thule and Thavnair.
Also by postponing the WT. Lvl 80 WT gives you 5.9m. While 89 gives you 10.8m. So postponing as long as possible will give you the greatest amount. I'm saving them to push me instantly from 89>90.
WT is always 50% of the level so it doesnt matter when you use it. its 10m at 89 cuz u need 20m or something like that lol
crafters on lvl 90; classes i want to play on lvl 90 and min. of 640 gear; 5000 teleporttickets; 6000 marks for my vendors; 1 extra chars inventory complete full of materia; lvl 80 gear for the viper in arsenal ready; mainchars inventory clean and clear. i cant await to play!
Given that hunts have gear in 7.0 it's very likely we're getting a new type of hunt seal in the New World. SE isn't gonna let us spend 4k on 100 level equipment, thats just not happening haha.
Fill up your rested exp bar.
Some of these like challenge logs are really unnecessary since you're likely to run dungeons, do fates, etc, prior to patch day. If anything, you just need to be careful not to accidentally complete them before early access.
Biggest tip: Send screenshots to all of your friends who did not get early access.
I cleared out a complete zone of quests. Thavnir is all green i imagine it should be a level i think.
I want to add if you're a slacker like me and did no side quests in EndWalker you can prep 28 quests(i chose Garlemald) and have them pre-completed and drop them on your VPR/PCT 87 for a boost.
Less than 3 weeks. Very close now!

All I remember for EW is this dude went with a tank, 2 blue mages and him as a reaper and just straight up grinded out 10 levels of dungeons to get to 80.
I think that iLVL is only valid when your playing with other people up to 100. Pick up crafted gear then start collecting new poetics for better gear
I'm also capping my gatherer and crafter scripts. Don't know if it's worth it though...
You can buy materia ftom those so yes, always worth it, if only to transmute.
the only tip I need is how to somehow be done with Shadow of the Erdtree by then. I'm not liking my chances.

You can sell the 9/10's for the early raid content, a lot of people will pentameld the old ones.
Not looking forward to leveling picto from 80-90. Those of us who don’t have a group we can do dungeons with will likely be in Zadnor for much of this period. DPS dungeon queues are going to be out of control.
I wish there were better overworld leveling techniques.

Good as always, but I think we all know that you really won't gain that much from any of these methods. Just doing the MSQ/Roulette will work just about as well.
I really wish they would make gathering, fishing, easier and faster. Hunting more streamlined with timers, locations and faster respawns without the need of any triggering events and just overall faster and easier everything. There’s way too many games coming out to spend 50hours a week on this game alone, on top of working and dealing with family. Rip
