This is unironically the only video from the DT media tour that I know of that actually shows of the FATEs and shows of some changes. Bicolor gemstones confirmed, the exp bonus now also seems to boost the amount of bicolor gemstones you get AND it seems stackable. 16 gemstones is the norm, but you got a boost first up tp 20 at 23:08 and then the FATE immedietly after with it rewarding 24 so yeah something is going on here and whatever it is I'm loving it. Looking forward to max out my shared FATE level again!
I think that different FATE types give different amounts of gemstones. I don't think it's related to the maiden at all. But. I might be completely wrong!

I'm more inclined to belive it's the buff personally since we see the little arrow next to the bicolour gemstones on the "fate complete" and reward prompt, since that is how it works for the exp buff curenttly. But yeah, guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Videos like this are why you're my favorite FFXIV creator. Everyone else's videos are very informative, but this is so much more genuine. It gave us something the others didnt. More like what the game is actually like, rather than just stats.
No one else seems to have noticed that you're getting 16 Bicolor Gemstones, and in previous expansions we were only getting 12, so you did bring new information that I didn't see anywhere else
I love that it looks like killing a forlorn maiden increases the amount of bicolor gemstones you get (one he got 20, so a bonus of 4) and the next one he killed with the buff gave him 24 so a bonus of 8. That's a huge boon for bicolor gemstone farming.
He got 24 for one of them. I think they might be scaling them based on FATE type. Big bosses being 24, helper quests being 16, and bunch of little mobs being 14. Would encourage people to do the helper quests, which tend to be ignored.

the zones are downright gorgeous. despite being similar to thavnair, they still manage to feel wholly unique whilst still retaining some of that jungle-esque/heavy foliage beauty. i'm very much looking forward to being able to explore them :D yours is the first (and only) media tour video i've watched, so i wasn't sure what to expect from it either, but the stuff available is pretty cool! getting to mess around in the zones and look around to your heart's content is pretty damn fun, even if you weren't able to find more marks within the 10h limit
Elsebee Ironheart is definitely the sightseeing log NPC! In the Source, all of the sightseeing logs are handled by members of the Ironheart family! Ironheat is the person who made the maps.

Even though i watched the videos that other content creators made about the actions and abilities, which were also very good btw, i didn't get that same feel that I got from this one. Obviously the memes are always appreciated but seeing you go with the other creators and be like "we're killing this bug, get in here!" was just awesome. honestly, so far, my favorite Media tour video, as you actually looked around, most video are people showing rotations, ability changes, and maybe the dungeon. You actually looked and fought random mobs... first look at the bird fish and that weird Croc.

If you're at all concerned - the "look I'm just going to explore the new stuff" videos are actually kinda rare - this was a joy to watch Very little of the youtube stuff over the last week was someone just going "what's actually out here to mess with" no knock against rotation theorycraft, but I enjoyed the change of focus

Oh don't worry, your hotbars at least still go left to right in the proper way. My HUD is setup with vertical 2x6 bars to put a wider gap every other skill, meaning that my hotbars keybinds on the technical side are like... hotbar 1: 1, 2, shift1, shift2, ctrl1, ctrl2 etc, and then hotbar 2 is: 3, 4, shift3, shift4 etc. It certainly took a lot of rebinding when originally setting up, haha. But it looks nice so worth!
I think mine might be worse because they represent my actual keyboard except the right side of each hotbar is a second copy for alt+key binds. The result looks atrocious even though it's super comfy for my hand that doesn't have to move much from the movement keys.

My HUD is setup with vertical 2x6 bars to put a wider gap every other skill, meaning that my hotbars keybinds on the technical side are like... hotbar 1: 1, 2, shift1, shift2, ctrl1, ctrl2 etc, and then hotbar 2 is: 3, 4, shift3, shift4 etc.
It certainly took a lot of rebinding when originally setting up, haha. But it looks nice so worth!
I think mine might be worse because they represent my actual keyboard except the right side of each hotbar is a second copy for alt+key binds.
The result looks atrocious even though it's super comfy for my hand that doesn't have to move much from the movement keys.
