Got to see them a few times. The last couple in VERY small venues, one of which you could just walk up to the stage and chat with the band if you wanted.
Used Harder Faster and mostly The Whole World's Goin Crazy for PSYKE music when i was getting my hockey equipment on for practices and games when i was 6-10 when i was still getting ready at home.
One of the shows was in my hometown because one of the bands members have/ had a place in Montgomery VT and they had a bad flood so April Wine played a benefit concert!!! Was pretty much the coolest thing ever for this AW FAN

One of the absolute best Canadian bands to ever hit the airways, straight outta Halifax. Incredibly talented musicians, gifted to say the least, and very largely underrated. Some of the most incredible songs ever written and most awesome guitar riffs and solos. If you ever had the chance to see this band live, or grew up listening to them, you know exactly what I mean when I say underrated. They kept coming with album after album and hit after hit. this concert was filmed in Cedar Rapids Iowa, I was at the show it was amazing. There were over 9000 people in attendance. The show was opened up by Eddie Money and it was filmed as part of a duel concert with the Steve Miller band who was playing over in Detroit Michigan. The concert supported the Power Play album and it was a second time inside of two years that they played in Cedar Rapids, the first time they were the opening act for Nazareth in front of a sold out house. This was the second time out of 25 times that I have seen them live. Never gets old!

1980 to 85. April wine, Rush, Triumph, Loverboy and Saga put on the greatest rock shows. Top notch, on point, tight, great sound every time, so professional, totally fan loving. Never saw a bad show, a bad night or second rate performance from any one of them. You had to be there. Grunge and post grunge have no idea what they've missed and what raw, rocking talent is. The rock bands of the 60s, 70s and 80's are the best. The industry turned their back on them and gave us dregs compared to groups of any genre after the 80's. FACT. Bands that could sing and play their instruments.

i wasn't a fan of Loverboy or Saga much, but the others from the 70s yes, and i think there was a void in the 80s because most of the 70s talent was gone by then, and the Bush Gov exploited it by placing in Madonna, who turns out is a far relation of Bush as well as Spears and certain others, and it was done to begin the nefarious Hollywood rap scene. it was also a chance for Bill Gates to have influence that led to downloading which completely destroyed the music business. Robbie Robertson used to like hanging out in Hollywood until he had his life threatened for trying to expose the Bush cult. i have no question Bush were also behind 911 as well as other crimes.

The highlight of this show starts at 23:25 with Jerry Mercer's drum solo. This is Jerry in his prime - beating the hell out of his drum kit with both power and precision. Playing with his sticks turned around backwards (the tips pointed towards his body) makes the sound even bigger! Ending with his signature one-handed snare trade-off that builds to a frenzy! I'm glad I got to see them live just like this in their prime. Jerry was more than just a drummer. HE was an essential part of the sound - and by far the most entertaining member of the band. A true showman!!

Gary Moffat is buttery smooth and has been playing those DC Les Paul's since 73, Gerry Mercer is world class on drums and Myles Goodwyn is a great frontman/vocalist/songwriter/guitarist. And, they are all very down to earth guys. Thank you for the music guys. Bless you for the memories. The soundtrack to much of my teen years.
