I think that Luka becoming frustrated with the refs in the OKC series was more related to him being frustrated with himself and his injury. Imagine being capable of doing much more and seeing the game unfold in a way you don't want because your knee is bothering you, listening to people talking smack but not being able to clap it back with his game, I think whining to the refs ended up being an outlet for that frustration and that's why he was better in G5 and G6 and the whole Wolves series because he was able to play better, he got a bit healthier. People forget but Jokic also complains a lot when he is frustrated.
Every time I watch these, it seems pretty disorganised. Interesting discussion at first about the finals teams and matchups, then throw in a superchat about fucking LeBron and KD and have the discussion derailed for 20 minutes about some hyptheticals that no one researched anyway. Great. I get why Superchats are there, but they are easily the worst part of any stream. Edit:* But shoutout to my country mate Sebastian Müller for actually sending a relevant and interesting superchat questions that brought the discussion back on track.
Luka is either better or worse than Lebron at his age today and that will not change regardless of the Finals result. There are 12 (counting the refs) other guys on the court involved in the result of the finals.
@@Rr-j4xno he's not you clown LMAO... if put LeBron from 25 Yeats old in this 2020 ERA he's Averaging 35 PPG on 60% shooting while being elite Defensively..
I think it is literally in the Celtics hand: Can they hit enough 3's? The Mavericks pack the paint in favor of giving up some open 3's, they will score with Kyrie and Luka, but if the Celtics hit 20 3's a game it's gonna be hard for the Mavs to win.
Depends if the Mavs are scoring like 60 paint points like they did vs TWolves though. Then if the Mavs can just hit a solid amount of threes they have the advantage imo. I feel like ppl are overrating Bostons ability to guard Luka PnR and ball screens. They wanna switch their guards onto Lively or Gafford it’s alley oop city, Luka won’t even have to fully penetrate he will be throwing them from the top of the key
@@dundalis I hope you are right about the pnr stuff, but I am not sure about it. Overall I think it is pretty even series and then the greater variance in 3 point shooting might decide it, in the end...
@@pablo3638 Dallas literally won multiple games in the playoffs so far shooting like ass cause of their paint dominance. I don't see how the Celtics are gonna stop it. People say KP, but Chet is better rim protector than KP, same as Gobert. Horford ain't stopping it. 3 point shooting comes and goes, it could win Boston the series if they shoot the lights out every game, but paint points have zero shooting variance, there's no such thing as off shooting nights on dunks. If Boston can somehow keep roll man from all those easy lobs then maybe, but I just don't see how. Boston would literally put Jrue and White on Indiana bigs in the paint, because they couldn't dominate PnR like Dallas do. They try that vs Dallas, it's over.
@@dundalis I remember one game in which they compensated a big disadvantage in 3 point scoring by dominatng the paint. Other than that OKC shot actually pretty abysmal from 3(even worse than the Mavs), which I don't think Boston is gonna do. Shai was a killer though, better than anyone on Boston IMO and hopefully Luka is gonna be better than he was (probably knee wise) against OKC. So it's gonna be interesting, to pretend it's a forgone conclusion either way is questionable IMO and my first point of it then maybe coming down to the high variance 3 point shooting stands.
@@pablo3638 Why won't Boston have poor shooting performances though? OKC was a superior 3 point shooting team than Boston during the season percentage wise. That's the thing with shooting is it doesn't matter if you are Steph Curry, shooting variance always exists. The chances that 1 or 2 minimum of Celtics starting 5 has an off shooting night in any given game is fairly high. The Mavs need to figure out who that is and use them as a hedge for their bigs to maintain their defensive identity as a team that funnels ball handlers into their rim protection. I would actually say there is a good chance at least one of their starting 5 has an off shooting performance the entire series, as that's just how shooting variance works. They are all very good shooters over large sample sizes, but a bunch of them have already had multiple poor shooting performances in the playoffs against teams that don't even play good defense. Boston has a worse 3 point shooting percentage in the playoffs than the Mavs do despite playing a bunch of average teams without their stars.
Sooo everybody's talking how to contain Mavs but nobodys talking how to contain C's 😆 C's have 4 players who can score & defend & 2 stretch bigs who can defend then Prictchard off the bench who doesn't miss from 3 so the question is how do the Mavs defend ALL THAT & still have enuff energy to score on the other end tho Lukas slow play style does allow Mavs to breathe a bit in order to do so but I think the C's will be overwhelming for Mavs to handle I hope im wrong bcz im going for the Mavs
Since Celtics shoot mostly 3's, I suppose the game plan would be to run em off the 3 point line. After that, just rotate correctly. What else could anyone do?

Mavs played 8 close games so far - close enough to trigger the Last 2 minutes report. According to the League, in one of those games they got screwed by refs and in two games they got the same treatment (same amount of bad calls). In 5 games they were helped by the refs. And that is just the last 2 minutes, in reality they were getting more favorable whistles every game, all game. This team has no business being in the finals, should have been out in the second round, or even in the first if Clippers didnt just fold after seeing they are not allowed to win the series.
The meta argument is whether a heliocentric offense can defeat a democratic offense. I’m a Mavs fan and I’m excited by the result of this series. If I had to place a bet, it would be Celtics in 6, just because of the way that bball is played these days. But I’d love to be proved wrong!
I’m not a Harden fan at all, but the dude won an MVP and took the greatest team ever to 7. Kyrie is amazing but swap him with Harden on those Rockets teams. Do they get as far as they did with Harden? Nope.
Maybe the on off numbers are different because he sat for about 7 minutes a game and that’s not an accurate sample size…so for a 3 minute burst against also the other teams backups they hit a couple 3s and you extrapolate that to get an offensive rating that’s not a real way to measure a statistic and come to any sort of conclusion
Outside of magic, Doncic wouldn't be the youngest on that trajectory to win at that age, Tim Duncan won in his second season at age 22, and was unquestionably the best player on the team.
