I never heard such a balanced perspective on anything. You don't shy away at all in pointing out a games flaws and then conclude that you "really, really dig this game". Keep up the SUPER AWESOME MEGA reviews. Long time fan of your podcast, day one fan of your youtube channel.
This was a genuine review, you conveyed all the enthusiasm and what stuck with you about the game. You covered all the main aspects and kept it short. Thank you very much for sharing it Jamie!
Thanks for yet another quality video Jamie and the founders! I'm definitively frothing for this one, my group all come from D&D years of playing and I think it would fit perfectly!
Oh thanks for doing this one. I was wanting to see more about New Angeles and your video reviews are excellent at giving a quick overview, much like your review game overview on the podcast but with pictures :)
Thanks Jason! Thats what I was hoping for. Trying to keep it tight but still give a vibe of the game so viewers arent falling asleep by the time I start rattling on about it :)
Dude, this is a fantastic, very balanced and even review. It's pretty impressive the amount of work and passion you've put into it in such a little time that your channel seems to have, I subscribed, then went to see your ton of videos and I was surprised to find just a few!! Dude you are awesome. Keep up the work, looking forward to a long list of videos in here.
I watch and read loads of reviews, but I've somehow never seen this channel. Fantastic work. Very thoughtful and balanced. Your enthusiasm is quite clear and makes for an engaging video. Subbing so I can get more of these reviews in the future!
Great review! Super informative and well produced. I've always been a fan of "The Republic of Rome" - the wheeling, dealing and advancing your faction while making sure Rome doesn't fall. This looks like it will have a similar feeling. Can't wait to get my copy.
I really like how you explained the game. It's better than most board game reviewers explanation style. Wish you'll do more reviews 'specially a top ten.
Hi Kai! I will definitely be doing more videos in the future. Our podcast is running a fundraiser on April 5th on Kickstarter to fund another year of programming and based on that, we'll plan out our schedule. Doing 4 podcasts a month and then the videos is wearing our time thin. If the KS is successful, I'll be producing multiple videos a week with review and more additional content. Really glad that you enjoyed the video. Crossing fingers that we can free up some time to do it regularly
new subscriber here and I am loving the quality! Our group is perfect for this but it's difficult to talk people into a 4 hour game we just don't have time unless it's the biannual All Male Slumber Party AMSP (lol don't ask) 3 days of gaming. Therfore I do think you are right, a timer would be helpful there to cut it down enough...our weekly meetup is about 2.5 hours with 5-7 people attending on average (spitting sometimes voted on to play more of those awesome 3 to 4 player games.) Anyways thanks for the review!
Great stuff! I just bought this game solely off this review (and seeing that it was near the top of the BGG Hotness). Love the Podcast, love the videos. Nice work!
Great review Jamie. I played this twice at SaltCon and I really, really enjoyed it even if I won't play it that often. I really thought the minis were incredible too.
I was meh on this game until I watched this video, which I watched after listening to the Dec 7th podcast. I think most players in my group can get into the negotiating aspect of the game. Kudos on the review, I am definitely interested in New Angeles.
Love the production here, but do I really need another game like this that won't get played? Maybe a few times with my Netrunner friends, but seems risky.
Dont know, never thought about that. We will certainly review/discuss nearly all of the games I review on video on the podcast but not the exact words.
The Secret Cabal Gaming Podcast I was thinking it could thrown in once in a while like express episodes. Just a thought. Keep up the great work these video reviews have been awesome.
Raphaël Bellefleur I'm in the same boat sadly. I absolutely love negotiation heavy games with lots of wheeling and dealing but it's so hard to find a table full of people who dig it just as much.
Raphaël Bellefleur it really fell flat with my group. We're not the group that Jamie described. We like negotiation games, are all Netrunner expatriates, and like games with heavy mechanics. We just felt like there was too much fiddling type complexity for what the game really is. We all said we'd play it again is someone wanted to but no one would suggest it.
Hunh, that's really interesting to me. I honestly can't think why a group that enjoys negotiation would not absolutely love this game. What kind of "fiddling type complexity" turned you guys off? I thought it was much less than your typical co-op. 3 times per game you pull out a card to show the threat and assign the setup thusly, other than that all you're doing is drawing cards and negotiating.
Sounds like fun, but not for our group. Thanks for the information at the end. I like the idea of everyone working together, but having to do better than one of the other players. I'd like to see that in other games.
Haha, Yeah, I totally get that. I felt the same way seeing some of the podcasters I always listened to for the first time at conventions. I remember hearing the voice of Russ Waklin (from D6 Generation) in the crowd at GenCon. I looked all around and finally saw him speaking. It was really weird.
I'm a big netrunner fan so the theme is one I already like and there is an extra level of "ah ha that's X card from Netrunner" but I'm curious how the theme comes across to players who are not familiar with thr Android lore or the log. Thoughts ?
I don't play Netrunner at all and I'm totally cool with the theme. But I'm also into other cyberpunk. I don't think it's too difficult of a concept to get on board with.
Fair review. I would argue that often the board state demands certain obvious actions. There is usually one thing that NEEDS to happen which drastically undercuts the whole negotiation aspect. Everyone knows X needs to happen, so no one bothers to waste cards opposing it. Plus the investment cards are just bad.
That's kinda the best strategy , most of the times. Ie. you are the Medical Corp. and you want the city to be full of illness so that everyone on the board, even your rival, have to cooperate with you and remove the threat giving you tons of capital
Really great review, as I am weighing this game as an option to purchase and bring to my game night. I know certain players would thrive on this. 2 to 2 and a half hours would be perfect... 4 hours seems pushing it, so maybe maxing out at 4 players is a good idea, if I go with this... and thanks for making that aspect clear.
looks good but I dont know how often I would be able to play this one. 4 player minimum 2-4 hour play time :/ I love the idea of it though. definitely intrigued
the Android universe needs to be utilized in more games. I love the lore, but i'm not sure this one is right for my group. Fantastic overview & review Jaime!

I watched several videos about this game but this one was by far the best, you've got yourself a sub.
This was a genuine review, you conveyed all the enthusiasm and what stuck with you about the game. You covered all the main aspects and kept it short. Thank you very much for sharing it Jamie!
Good to see the content filling out this channel. Been waiting for some videos!
Really, REALLY excellent production quality. Proud to be a patron and a backer. Well done.
Loving these video reviews! Thanks Jamie and thanks Secret Cabal!

These videos are as well done as the podcast! Definitely need to watch more of them!

Thanks Noe! Yeah I'm just starting out doing the video reviews. I'll have more coming soon.
I watch and read loads of reviews, but I've somehow never seen this channel. Fantastic work. Very thoughtful and balanced. Your enthusiasm is quite clear and makes for an engaging video. Subbing so I can get more of these reviews in the future!

Thanks Davor! I try to make them as honest, balanced and fair as I can. Glad you like it!
Great review! Super informative and well produced. I've always been a fan of "The Republic of Rome" - the wheeling, dealing and advancing your faction while making sure Rome doesn't fall. This looks like it will have a similar feeling. Can't wait to get my copy.
Only recently began listening to the Podcast which I really enjoy and I am enjoying watching the videos now too!

Awesome review. You are kicking ass, Jamie!
Glad to see you doing videos now! Keep it up!
Great review, Jamie! Looking forward to many more.
Fantastic videos guys! I would love to see a video with all the guys, not that would be the BEST x-mas present for the fans.
Really dig the podcast. Excellent video review and I look forward to seeing more. Went grab a copy of this yesterday.
Thanks Greg! Hope you enjoy it
Excellent review! Thought it was really well presented and the game explanation was really clear! Looking forward to more reviews in the future!
Thanks Becky! More are coming. There seems to be a video cycle happening. Some weeks are podcast weeks and some are video weeks.
I really like how you explained the game. It's better than most board game reviewers explanation style. Wish you'll do more reviews 'specially a top ten.

Thank you Jamie for the excellent video review - looking forward to more of the same from The Secret Cabal!
Really like your new video reviews! Great addition to a great podcast!
I love this addition to the Secret Cabal content. Are you going to do audio only versions like the Dice Tower does for its video reviews?
Finally got the chance to play this. I really like it.
First of your videos I've seen, now subbed and will watch more. Thanks!

The Secret Cabal does video reviews now? Since when? This is awesome.
Thanks for the review! I glanced over this one when I first saw it but I think I need to revisit it.
Another quality review....nice work Jamie
It's great to have more video reviews ;)
I really enjoyed this dynamic!
Top notch review Jamie. Thanks.
First time knowing about this channel, and thanks for your review! This is a well written review. :)
Looks pretty cool. Thanks for another great video!
Great stuff! I just bought this game solely off this review (and seeing that it was near the top of the BGG Hotness). Love the Podcast, love the videos. Nice work!
Thanks Tim!
Thanks for the review. we saw this the other day and it looked really interesting.
Great review Jamie. I played this twice at SaltCon and I really, really enjoyed it even if I won't play it that often. I really thought the minis were incredible too.
Great review! I'm loving them!!! Any chance you'll do a video of Guild Ball and the other Blood Bowl style games?
Diggin these reviews, great job Jamie!!
I was meh on this game until I watched this video, which I watched after listening to the Dec 7th podcast. I think most players in my group can get into the negotiating aspect of the game. Kudos on the review, I am definitely interested in New Angeles.
Good job, guys. Love the reviews.
Loving your reviews Jamie keep them coming!
I'm excited about your video reviews they are awesome I'm a long time listener to the podcast.
Awesome, Byron! So happy to hear it. Thanks so much.
Looks like a good one, nice production again.
Thanks for the overview. This looks great!
Greetings Cabalists! Just joined the show! :D
Love the production here, but do I really need another game like this that won't get played? Maybe a few times with my Netrunner friends, but seems risky.
Can't wait to get this to the table... Great review on the game btw
Great review channel!!! Thanks and keep up the good work 👌🏻
Huge Netrunner fan. Great video!
will you ever make this videos also available on the podcast to listen to aswell?
Dont know, never thought about that. We will certainly review/discuss nearly all of the games I review on video on the podcast but not the exact words.
The Secret Cabal Gaming Podcast I was thinking it could thrown in once in a while like express episodes. Just a thought. Keep up the great work these video reviews have been awesome.
These reviews are great! Keep it up!
Great review! This game looks fun!
This looks like a game I'd love, but would never be able to get to the table because it wouldn't be a good fit for my gaming group.
Raphaël Bellefleur I'm in the same boat sadly. I absolutely love negotiation heavy games with lots of wheeling and dealing but it's so hard to find a table full of people who dig it just as much.

Thanks for all the Reviews
No Problem, Andrew! I'm having a blast doing them.
Makes me want to play Net runner again.
Just played. I 100% agree with the review.
Another great review Jamie.... keep them coming....
Oh, man... Jamie already dropping exclusives on youtube? I've been waiting for this game!
Yeah this one just happened to work out for me this time!
Sounds like fun, but not for our group. Thanks for the information at the end. I like the idea of everyone working together, but having to do better than one of the other players. I'd like to see that in other games.
Love the review -really bizarre to actually see you as well having listened to the podcast for a while
Haha, Yeah, I totally get that. I felt the same way seeing some of the podcasters I always listened to for the first time at conventions. I remember hearing the voice of Russ Waklin (from D6 Generation) in the crowd at GenCon. I looked all around and finally saw him speaking. It was really weird.
Very cool review, can't wait to see more
Thanks for the wonderful review!
I'm a big netrunner fan so the theme is one I already like and there is an extra level of "ah ha that's X card from Netrunner" but I'm curious how the theme comes across to players who are not familiar with thr Android lore or the log. Thoughts ?
LCG that is.
I don't play Netrunner at all and I'm totally cool with the theme. But I'm also into other cyberpunk. I don't think it's too difficult of a concept to get on board with.
Really looking forward to this one
Awesome reviews, keep em coming.
Definitely will! Thanks!

I'll keep'em comin if you'll keep watchin!
Well done review. Definitely a try before buy.
Really great review, as I am weighing this game as an option to purchase and bring to my game night. I know certain players would thrive on this. 2 to 2 and a half hours would be perfect... 4 hours seems pushing it, so maybe maxing out at 4 players is a good idea, if I go with this... and thanks for making that aspect clear.
looking forward to trying this.
As a netrunner player i'm frofin for this
Stellar review as usual!
Great video! Keep em coming.
looks good but I dont know how often I would be able to play this one. 4 player minimum 2-4 hour play time :/ I love the idea of it though. definitely intrigued
You need to post your podcasts on here as well so people can..
1. Watch your awesome reviews
2. Try out your audio podcast via TH-cam 3. Profit!
Cool review! Seems like an interesting game.
Thanks for the overview!
the Android universe needs to be utilized in more games. I love the lore, but i'm not sure this one is right for my group. Fantastic overview & review Jaime!
Great review - thank you!
Thanks for the video. I enjoy Android Netrunner the LCG, so I was seeking information about this new look at that milieu.
great review; I"m just commenting because I can't remember my youtube screen name for the contest
I can finally put a face to the awesome voice! You're a good looking guy Jamie! Definitely matches the voice!
Looks good, liking the reviews!
Wow! I might buy it for the art work and the minis! But not sure if my group can handle this type of gameplay... hmmmmm
