Hey Francis! Love your reviews. Now im into crawlers. Started with SCT rc’s 10yrs ago and sold it since I didnt have time to visit the tracks. Fast fwd to a few months ago when I encountered a group of guys playing with their crawlers while I was biking on the trails (oh, btw, i saw that you’re into MTB as well). I was curious and started looking in youtube about it and stumbled on your channel. Started watching all your vids to help me decide with my first crawler.
So far, im leaning towards the TRX4 sport kit with a HW axe system, powerful servo (undecided yet since I cant find a local supplier of savox that you recommend), flysky gt5 tx/rx, plus hyrax tires with beadlock wheels. Estimating around $800. But after seeing your review for the gen8 axe edition that has all the electronics I want for a lot cheaper, around $500. It got me thinking of getting that instead. But i really want the trx4 sport kit coz i would love to build it from ground up and paint the body.
Any recommendations? Also considering the scx10iii, but after seeing your reviews im kinda disappointed.

Got myself a set of these because the landmines are not available atm, like them very much, especially the look. But the hyrax is the better tire. And muddy conditions are not theyr game. The profile does not self clean very well. But the big advantage is that the foams are very good. No need to change them. Love them.
Here in Louisiana we have mud when it rains our loose powdery dirt when its dry. Swampers or deepwoods do ok but not so well in the dry. Deepwoods>swampers dry/swampers>deepwoods mud. For the $ I might pick up a set to test on the dry...besides i need a set of tires to mount on my aluminum wheels 😁
I bought these when they first came out for my SCX10. Great tires. Ran with stock foams on weighted beadlocks and did good with sub 6lb rig.
Changed over to TRX4 a couple months back and had Lot of side roll on a heavier(stock) rig. I added more weight and switched to proline dual stage and they really have done well. Good looking tires with very good traction. They will pack with mud easily but everything else is good.

I bought these in the 2.2 flavor for the rig I'm building. Got antsy to try them and put them on my 2.2 Wraith. I really like them! I added ProLine two stage foams but I think I'll go back to the stock open cell for two of them and swap them front and rear to see if it makes much difference.
I would love to see what you think about the cheap Injora brand tires on Amazon. They have a hyrax knockoff that my buddy says are just as good as the G8 compound I am not so sure but I might give it a shot. Only 22 bucks for 4.

I would love to know your oppinion on whats the best crawler tire in 1.55. There is not as much info on them and since i´m building a Suzuki Samurai in i really want to use 1.55 because there are just more scale. Would be neat to see a comparison. I thing this size is a bit neglected. Love your Videos. Stay Save!
Good old Scorpios. I have a set on my MIghty FC. I prefer them over Hyrax. 👍

Cool Tire. I have a set but have not put a lot of runs on them. I may buy another pair and put them on my Trx6 and see how they do compared to the stock Canyon Trails

Yeah, I thought it was a new tire but some research proved otherwise. Might be a hidden gen.
I wish you can do a comparison of the cheap crawler tires that works . Tires being sold in eBay or amazon. You did it with servos and transmitters. Thinking this high dollar tires should better work $30 for a pair ... so $60 for a set.... YOWZA.

That seems to be working fine for us. Seems good for crawler use. The one caveat is that ESC doesn't generat big BEC amperage for the servo. So if you have a power-hungry servo, not ideal.

i wonder how good those are in non american land, like wet, muddy or just slippery rocks as up here in northern europe, looks like those nooks and crannies on the tires would fill up quite fast

I have the landmines and scorpios. I like the look of the scorpios. They are great performers too. Like the video said, they arent that great in the mud...but I try to stay out of the mud at all costs.
Cole Poulson me to I haven’t waterproofed any of my stuff I just keep dry too dirt and rocks I like theses tires too and I like the way the landlines look
