Side bar... I have been running the Swamper 2.2 in the G8 compound on my 1/6th scale Willys for years and love them! Best tire for a multitude of terrain, from loose sand banks to slick rock it just works. And that thing is a heavy beast
I’d love to see your guys take the same car, same tires, same wheels, same course except one rig has Predator compound and the other has G8. Just to see performance difference
I made an ANIMAL. Ok. So I had the Super Swamper TSLs with the factory 3 piece rim that you sell 1.9 G8. I weighted each wheel 2 oz with plumbing solder wrapped around the inner wheel. These things were a game changer for my modified Traxxas trx-4 Blazer. I replaced them with a set of G made weighted wheels, Hyrax Predator compound tires and dual stage foams. To many options to list but its stable, grippy and ridiculous. Well worth the time, effort and money. Great product!
Ideas: It’d be cool to see Proline’s position on why someone should choose Proline tires over Chinese competition. A 4 tire set of Chinese Hyrax are only $25. In my personal interest of “buying local”, I’d love to see Proline dominate the Chinese knockoff industry. BTW, I’ll be at “Proline by the fire” and rockin’ a set of Proline Hyrax. Let me know who needs firewood. Haha
I have great success with proline hyrax g8 in both 1.9 & 2.0 on rocks until the snow and mud gets in them, then the proline tsl reigns supreme the larger lugs clear out better and rip through the loose terrain. I am excited to try the predator compound in a 1.9 hyrax soon too.
This is really informative. I would like to see tire compounds tested with different truck weights, ambient temperatures, humidity, different terrain types, climbing ablility and many more factors so we might be better able to gauge which tire to use. Lotta work, I know, but it would be great!
I crawl on big rocks out at the beach. They are pretty slick, and don't offer much traction. The hyrax in predator compound gives me the best advantage I can get.
Wow, guess I B an old school fan, scale too small, but I mess around, no competition, for this disabled vet, I tend to go with 2.2 over 1.9 but to each their own, great job, very informative,
ideas??, definitely guests, big names as well as maybe those just starting out in the hobby, maybe both together. now that I am starting my third year in the hobby, I really miss being in the U.S.. I think of all the travels and the places I could have stopped and would have been fun spots. Being able to head on over to a large crawl event like Pro Line by the Fire, Axial Fest. Hope I don't get too long in the tooth before being able to attend.
Shoptalk on your LED lights and bars where they work off six and 12 V different options for hooking them up I think this would be very beneficial to people beginning in this hobby that might not be super comfortable with different ways of wiring up light bars and different voltages
Shop tall should be exactly that.... stuff that happens in the shop. This was a great video, well done. Being a tool maker myself I'd like to more about the process from design to packaged product and the tooling and the equipment used to make our favorite tire brand....
I Love your Tires and shop Talk I never miss it ! I would like to see some class 0 Tires and I would like to see you show off the tires on some stuff to see what compound will hold and pros and cons for each. And the truck that you use needs to me a stiff truck do not care how well it can flex, Use the RC4WD Marlin Crawler stock right out of the box that way we will see the tires be what we see doing the work. Thank you
The R35 Ripsaw is pretty impressive, maybe a little short by today's standards! But still an awesome tire!! The Flatiron XL is pretty awesome!! And the faster you spin them, the better traction you get!! I now have a new favorite tire! The 1.9" G8 TRENCHER is totally awesome man!!! Now I have to have a 2.2" TRENCHER!!!!!
I would like to see a smaller series called trail talk. Go to events and big gtg’s and chat with people about their experiences and desires. Could be fun.
With the release of the scx24 and now other 1:24 scale crawlers, it would be awesome to see more options for the 1.0 inch sized wheel! Great overview of your lineup! thanks for making this video
Most common off road wheel size in real world has gone from 16 to 17 for most rigs. Bigger trucks yes maybe a 19. Most toyota rigs are up to a 17. 33 to 35 inch tires. The battle of scale looks ahaha. Love your tires guys thanks.
Love my Flat Irons! Still have a set of the original M3 compound new in the bag waiting for my old ones to wear out. Have a set of the 1.9xl on my Power Wagon build also.
I'm new to crawling and love the info you provide. You will gett all my business for two reasons top quality and made in America you all need to make a crawler made here keep up the good work
Great video guys! I always look forward to the shop talk videos, ESPECIALLY the crawler videos. With the crawl scene growing as fast as it is Proline is on the top of the list! I would love to see some of the other tires in action and more awesome products like 2018! Hyrax are KING
I'll take my 1.9 G8 Krawlers over the non-American Rock Beasts any day. On another note, how about hitting on crawler foam. Cut, no cut, soft, firm, taller than tire, shorter than tire?
I ordered some rock beasts thinking they were made in America, and I was pissed when they came and said made in BFE instead. 2 days later I ordered my Pro-Line Hyrax and have been happy since.
Looks they used to sell them, but they have been discontinued. They were $16.95... You can find similar versions for sale online, but probably could find this one if u look around
I whould like you to talk more about crawling related things, like you dide in this video. Thx for a awsome and informitid video, and i just like almoste all your stuff. Whould like to se products that dont needs modifikation to THE cars, just fitt it on.
Great job, personally I have no issues with all your tire line, I run both 1.9 & 2,2, it's hard to compare one to another, because everyone has different driving abilities and most run on different terrain, so, it boils down to, what you like, where you go & how you drive......thanks
Great video!! I know I enjoy your shop talk videos as much as you guys like making them so thank you! :-) As far as a guest goes, it would be cool if you had the designer of BFGoodWrench come on and talk about the design aspects of the 1.1 scale and how that translates to the 1/10 scale world. It’s not like it’s hard to track him down right...? Lol Hey thanks again fellas! I’ll see you on the next one!
You need to release a scale trophy truck tire. The proline bfg baja is way to fat. It needs to be thinner. A replica of the axial bfg 2.2 3.0 would be amazing. That said, you guys make a ton of great products let alone rigs. My pro mt is my favorite mini basher. And you are a staple in the world of suspension. I remember getting my first set of power strokes when they first released over a decade ago, ha. You do good work proline.
Man, it would be cool if u had someone is pretty new to the hobby, that would ask questions on how ur products works. Mite be helpful for them and maybe for those who are getting into the hobby. That most people who been in the hobby for a long time, wouldn’t think of asking.
Also thanks again on the square body chevy body already have 2 on order still rocking my cgr blazer but gotta play nice with it there over 200 bucks now if you can even find them
I think you guys are doing a fantastic job, shop talk is very informative and learn lots from them. Depending on what the subject is going to be sometimes having a guest on the show may give a different thought on what product you are reviewing for that show. As always keep up the great work and thanks for all you folks at proline do for this awesome hobby !!!
When I shop for full scale tires I look at the different ratings for terrain and durability. Itd be nice to see these for the multiple tires you offer so it's easier to compare when deciding which to but
Hi Paul. Nice Video. would you consider a technical review/setup of the proline shocks on say a stock chassis. something like cause and effect. What happens when you say. put a lighter oil vs heavier oil vs lighter springs vs heavy springs and number of holes in the piston. Thanks !
Id really like some 5 - 5.5” tall 1.9” tires. I have a lot of 1.9 beadlocks and weights, but I’m not about to spend the money on a bunch of 2.2 gear to run a larger tire. If anything I’d just buy the duratrax 2.2 glued on wheels for $27/pair. But I’d like to run a taller tire on my 200 gram weighted front beadlocks.
IDK if one could say a 19 inch rim is "scale". That tire size doesn't really exist outside of factory car tires. The industry standard is 15,17and 20. Those are pretty much the only size wheels you can get in a competition size beadlock and off road tire (Some 18s do exist). And the best way I have found for choosing actual truck tires is to have the wheel be 50% the size of a tire. So a 28-33" would pair with a 15", a 35-40 would pair with a 17 and a 42"+ would pair with a 20".
I’d like to see a video on tire inserts the different softness with different softness tires and how weighting them all effects their grip on different terrain s.
I would love a solid silicone gel crawler tire for my 1" beadlocks to mount onto my FMS - FCX24 crawler. Foam inserts or no inserts are both hurting performance, we need soft & sticky solid silicone gel tires to up the game.
I really think that you would dominate the market if you offered the TSL Super Swamper in a 4.19. The TSL and the hyrax will be the only tires to own. Guys like me don't run the hyrax in class one because it is not scale enough. However, I would own multiple sets of TSL in class one.
Nice!! On the hyrax proline predator wheels, why do they look like it's flat like saggy tires on trucks like on a 1/10 FJ40 truck? 😢 I want to buy but not sure why they look like that when placed on truck?
Really good info but what ever happened to the 2.2 KR2 Rock Terrain tires? I don't see them on the website. Was looking to put a set on my Axial Bomber

And also with singel vs dual stage foam.
Looking good Paul!
Hey aaaa BFGoodrich, I think you should look into makin a 1.1 hyrax available in 33, 35, 37 & 40.... somethin tells me that that would sell for sure!

Lets see some test rigs!
This was awesome as a new trx4 owner from nl canada
Found hyrax to be bad in sand/rock mix. Tread loaded up with sand and had no grip on rocks
How about the 2.2" Ripsaw in the legendary G8 compound???
I'd like to see kryptonite custom usd stickys and the baja pro x tires just a suggestion probably 2 of the nastiest tires available in the 1to1 market
Top notch my friend
Pretty Please for the sake of scale, and love for the classics, get with BFG on the original Mud Terrain T/A or KM1 or whatever it's called!
Appreciate you sharing.
Super nice explain!! You are a professional:) love it!! 👍👍👍
Excellent video. Love Pro-Line tires!
The hyrax is not the pinacle. Deepwoods would be. Hyraxs fill with dirt and its almost impossible to get rid of.
Can you do something for beginners? Should I be feeling the way I do about scale tyres!? 😂
Nice!! On the hyrax proline predator wheels, why do they look like it's flat like saggy tires on trucks like on a 1/10 FJ40 truck? 😢 I want to buy but not sure why they look like that when placed on truck?
I always use proline tires on my crawlers. they then best in my opinion
Test the tires on different surfaces to see which is best for what
It would be great some advice about foams to use with the tires depending on our crawlers weights and so on…
Best regards
