- Beat Solo 2 & 3s have a known (by customers) problem with one ear going out and not having sound. Well yesterday I came across a possible fix on a thread and wanted to give it a try. Shout out to the guy that posted this possible fix.....

Did this really work for you. I'm on my third pair and I kept my two that did this dumb crap .Cause the money they cost.I went digging for these things .I got them charging and I hope to everything this works.

I had this exact problem with my right side of my Beats Solo 3. I did what Mr. Randy M Harris suggested and as of 06/01/20223 this work around still WORKS. I thank you for sharing this knowledge Mr. Randy M Harris because you've brought my Beats headphones back to life.
I literally got my solo 3s for Christmas because everyone was telling me how amazing they were. This happened to me today and I was so sure that I’d have to send them back or I’d have to let them collect dust. Thank you so much for this ^^
This WORKS even if the hearing problem is in the opposite ear. I put the aluminum foil in and twisted it around for a bit, then I found that I could take it out and it still worked good as new. Thank you for this video! Helped a ton!

I plugged in the aluminum foil paper... the dead R side came back to life.. took out the aluminum foil... still works!! THANK YOU.. THANK YOU...

Well, I just tried your fix and it worked, I just used the headphone plug in to adjust the wires inside and suddenly everything started to work. Thank bro.

I saw them while cleaning and decided to try them and see if the left side would work,which it didn’t 😭 I went to TH-cam and FINALLY found a video that informed me of something other than taking my headphones apart and it worked!! I tried again and again and instead of it working it kept turning off over and over again with the right side still silent. But I appreciate you taking the time out of your day trying to help others fix this problem. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me.

I got my solo 3s at Christmas and they just stopped working on the right side
While I was listening to this tried to plug the 3mm jack in the right side (the one not working) and came back to life man amazing! Thanks
After two years, my Beats Studio 3 started not playing music out of the left side (the side with the jack) when on bluetooth. However when plugged in the work fine. The foil thing did work for me though. Just make sure you aren't shoving it up to high into the jack causing it to disengage and bluetooth to turn off. Also make sure its thick enough to stay in the jack and once you find that sweet spot, don't mess with it anymore.
I will admit, I'm a little sad that these headphones are showing their wear and I either need to depend on this or keep them wired in. Curious if someone has any recommendations for really nice wireless headphones that I should look into since I have a feeling these will need to be replaced in the near future.
There are many really good headphones way better than beats that are way less expensive

Some headphones I heard are really good are the Sony WE-XB900N extra bass over ear wireless headphones
@@georgeanthos2557 Thank you George, I don't really care for the extra bass since I listen to a wide range of sounds and whatnot (though my Dad might want those XD). However it looks like they have just a regular version of the same model which looks promising too!!! I will definitely look into that as a potential future headphone purchase when mine officially die out. I can still use my Beats wired in the meantime and I still have an 5+ year old pair of Skull candies which still work.

It fixed! Thanks a lot! I only have this new headphone for a few months, I am really mad this is happening. Although now it's working, it is ugly, there is a tape on it. It shouldn't be like that. I didn't do anything and it happens all by itself. I am really careful but still broke it. For anyone considering Beats, just go for SONY or other brands.
This worked for me it’s February 2022. Worked on beats 3rd generation. The problem was on the right side, the Jack is on the left. Thanks!

I used my cable for my headphones, the first time the other day. I thought it was just a random coincidence, but afterwards my right side (opposite headphone speaker from jack side) stopped working. Given it was the opposite side from the jack side, I never connected the issue.
After watching your video, I plugged the headphones into my headset and laptop. Then while using the headset, I unplugged the cable from my headset, then turned the headphones back on, connected to my laptop via bluetooth. Now both side work again!! Def. A glitch somewhere, but thankful for this video! I just would not have made that connection without it.

Edit: OMG GUYS, after seconds of making this comment, I suddenly made the permanent fix! I basically played a long while with the foil in the earphone jack port until I actually triggered the bluetooth to turn it off, after I turned it back on (thinking I fucked up) all i heard was...BOTH SPEAKERS WITH SOUND! I really hope this helps you guys! Just fuck around with it lmao! Edit 2: Just heard from my older sister that it happened to her too but she just used the chord and kept on plugging it in and out while the bluetooth was on until she got it working after a few tries! I hope these solutions help you guys!

my right ear went out. i used a screw to jab at the cord in the ear joint and that didnt help. usually the bluetooth on my solo 2 doeesnt work idk y but as soon as i turned on bluetooth because why not it connected and my right ear works with bluetooth just not with the cord for some reason. thought i should post this because it may for some reason be useful to someone else with a similar scenario as me.
Literally not even a month out of warranty and my right side completely stopped working suddenly with bluetooth. Both sides work with my aux.

You are an absolute genius. This fix worked a treat 1st time and a great temporary repair as my Beats Solo 2 wireless stopped working on the right side 5 days b 4 I go on holiday. Now that I know the problem is with the headphone jack and not any broken wires I've found a company in the UK that will replace the jack for £35.00

YOU. i was having this issue on the right headphone whenever bluetooth was connected. using the wire, both sides were working correctly. so I knew that it was some time of headphone issue after trying it on different sources. I used the aluminum foil as you did and got it to work and to secure it, i put a small piece of tape. thank you again! i was so frustrated until i found this video.

Brooooo!!!!! It's so crazy but it works!! You have to make the aluminum piece not to thick or too thin. But long enough as well. Then I taped the piece carefully. Now it's working at less than a penny!!
Yep, It takes a little patience to get it to a point that it stays but once you do it's worth it!!!!

left side speaker was not working.. and my younger brother went to store and got STUDIO 3, so since 2-3 days checking online for repairs and spare parts. so tried to use it on 3.5 mm jack but i want it to work on bluetooth also.
so i tried using foil as u mentioned to use the foil, at last found the week spot where the left side speaker is also start to work.. thanks bro.. u saved my $200..

I caved and paid the $130 since i was out of warranty and they sent me brand new headphones
I put it in for literally 5 seconds and both sides started working. I took out the foil seconds later and it stayed working for like a whole week so good advice

Bought mine in 2016 with my first paid and then one side stop working bluetooth something like two years later. I used something else instead since, but I recently wanted to use them in bluetooth again. Just found out today that i could fix them kind of so easily. THANK YOU SO MUCH !

June 2020: for anyone wondering if this trick still works, I am beyond happy to say that it does!!! I have been using my headphones 24/7 for about a year and a half and then they stopped working. I figured I was the problem but thanks to this video and many more i saved my headphones just when i was about to buy some more. The date is 6-17-20🎉🎊🔥👍

Don’t push it in all the way, just have a song playing and adjust the foil until the sound comes on.

When I push the foil in too far, mine turn off as well. When I am at the right angle / not too far in, the sound comes back on the right side, but don’t know how to keep the sound from going back out.

MY GUY!! THANK YOU!! This worked for me. I used the foil and put it in and took it out a few times. I'm not sure what it did but it works on both sides now! Take in mind I didn't have all the tools to do a complete repair, about an hour or so of watching step by step repairs..I stumbled on this video. low and behold I didn't even need to take them apart!! Again thank you for the content!!

I've never had a pair of beats I could rely on. I took a risk buying the solo 3 hoping the brand would have improved after 10+ years but was so very wrong. I haven't been able to use my headset for a couple of years now. Until today! 🎉 Thank you thank you!!!! 🙏🏼

Didn't smash! But... Tried your solution and it worked. Just as an FYI, you're completing the circuit when put a small (and I mean small piece of aluminum foil) in the 3.5mm jack. If you slowly pull the 3.5mm jack out while playing music you'll be able to tell which circuit needs closed. (i.e. Top (left side) or bottom (right side))
Just saw this, it worked. Was really gutted when they stopped working I noticed they working with the jack in but got fed up with catching the wire on stuff. And didn’t see the point in spend all that money when I thought about investing in other ones.

Holy shit, my moms headphones are fixed!! This is her third pair because the first one stopped working and i obviously got blamed for it and the second my brother broke and threw away along side my perfectly fine iPad….yeah he’s got a problem but I was worrried she’s think I broke them again when I never did in the first place😅
