    I have had the same issue on the beats solo2 and on the solo3 as well.
    I binned the solo2 and was about to do the same with my solo3 but after giving it ( the right ear cup) a few hard taps it came back to life and has been working smoothly ever since. I am not advocating banging the crap out of the headset but it saved mine from the garbage bin 🤷‍♂️

    Thank you so much for the walkthrough! The solution worked for the most part and the right side now plays again. However, a new issue popped up that I'm wondering if you experienced as well. When playing music via Bluetooth there is a high pitched noise in the background on the fixed right side that is more evident when volume of the music is lower. When I pause the music, the noise stops a few seconds after.
    The headphones appear to work noise-free through the wire, however the main reason I got them in the first place is to listen wirelessly. Do you know by chance why this is happening?

    • @NewsonsElectronics
      @NewsonsElectronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      yes its a grounding issue instead of soldering the wire to any ground you need to make the wire go to the correct ground wire. So for each headphone there are two wires if you have a multimeter see what one is not connected you may have to use some new wire.

    Thanks for sharing. Question: I noticed that you are using a Windows PC. When connected with the 3.5 wire, can you mute or raise the volume up or down? I currently have Solo 2 and 3 connected to Windows 10 and 11, and the mute and raising the volume up or down do not work. I even grabbed my daughter's factory Studio 3 3.5 wire, and it does the same. If connected via Bluetooth, it works fine; this is so strange.

    • @jidissafi7413
      @jidissafi7413 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're probably past it now, but I'm guessing anything that comes in on that analog jack just goes straight to the speakers and is using the amplification from the headphone output on whatever you're running. The onboard volume/mute stuff is probably part of the Beats' circuitry (bluetooth>amplifier,etc.) so it's no longer active while wired. Someone please correct that if it's wrong.

    So I was able to fix mine. My right side wasn’t working but the problem was in the left side. The ground cable was broken coming from the board from the aux to the other board right behind. Couldn’t exactly find where it was broken so I made a little bridge using thin wire and soldered the wire from before it was broken to after where it was broken. Had a hard time soldiering but for best results just wrap the insulated cable from the beats around the new copper wire then add resin core. (Beats wire must be wrapped on the outside of the copper cable then solder). I think this is a very common problem because the speaker is able to wiggle and adjust to your head shape using rubber but when the speaker is twisted/bent too much then too much stress is put onto the wires that aren’t long enough then bam they break. But I’m not saying this is the same problem for everyone but if your right speaker isn’t working then take apart the left ear and create a bridge from the blue stripped wire on the very right of the aux board board and connect it to the other board right behind. Like try opening up the blue stripped insulated wire on the board behind and connect it to the very last wire on the aux board which should also be the blue stripped wire. If the speaker starts working then there’s your problem and you may proceed cutting and soldering the wire. I tried my best on instructions with words but if you still have a hard time understanding then just send a comment and I will help you out

    Since the headphones have a high pitch sound from Bluetooth ground wire, would it be okay if I hook it up straight to the battery?

    • @NewsonsElectronics

      could be an issue with the Bluetooth module, try disconnecting the battery for a hard reset.

    • @bonevchannel
      @bonevchannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NewsonsElectronics I did it but that did not do the trick. Hard reset by disconnecting reacted as hard reset with the buttons - red blinking light shows up. Unfortunately no luck. I have also tried to play with the AUX jack with no luck so far.

      @@idk-wp8wi No problem. I think the only reasonable explanation is the AUX pin for the right speaker must be stuck and thus it works only when cable is in. Unfortunately I have not been able to confirm this in any way.

      Hello everyone! I have exactly the same situation. The earbuds work great on wire (both ears). But only the left ear works through Bluetooth (the right ear turns on a little from time to time when you press/touch / turn the left ear). Didn't find a solution to your problem?

    You want a real easy fix ? I play and record stuff all the time and I'm constantly listening to my favorite songs and I definitely need every sound feature music can provide so I always stick with Sony the new headphones wh headphones are $20 cheaper than these which still rack up a hefty price but they last ages go through hell and back sound beautiful have amazing touch activated features and amazing sound now that is some real advice from someone that plays guitar every week and needs good listening equipment

    While not the “turn off, turn back on fix” everyone wanted, this is not a difficult task. He takes you step by step through the whole process. It’s about $15 for an ohmmeter and $15 for a soldering kit. You can either spend $200 on new headphones or $30 and an hour. I guarantee you’re not important enough that $170/hr rate for labor is a waste of your time. Be an adult, purchase some tools that you’ll use in the future, learn a skill and make yourself useful. Don’t blame Beats for a shitty product or this guy for a complicated video. Stop waiting for the world to change.
    Solid video overall 🤘🏻💪🏻
