I have been an avid book reader all of my life. In fact, I ran out of books to read in my elementary school library. My reading level was no problem in high school, but my life experience level was way below what I needed to understand the Scarlet Letter or Tess of the D'Uberville's. As an adult I found them to be classics. Most of the books we read were out-reality. I love anything by Dickens, Jane Austen, L.R. Hubbard, Dune, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. There are certain books, even as an adult that I detest (may be too strong of a word)but Wuthering Heights is one of them, along with Crime and Punishment, A Handmaiden's Tale, Lord of the Flies, & Heart of Darkness. I've had to take an hiatus from reading for two reasons 1) my eyes can't take and 2) I neglect my other duties. The problem is that once I start reading a book I don't want to stop even if it means reading all night. I also like to write and going to get back into doing that very soon.

Funny you mention life experience...I’ve gone back and read some of the books I had to read in school. They meant something totally different to me as an adult as I can now understand them. Specially, Lord of the Flies made no sense to me as a high school student...Reading it as an adult made a huge difference
