Been saving up for a gaming PC, realised I've never been to show of shows even though I'm a Louisville native and a history nerd, shifted all my funds towards SOS 2021 lol.

Love Wittmans videos learn so much !
Good chance that boar is carved of basswood. Very popular for wood carving.
Absolutely fantastic. So love your videos . Thank you.
Thankfully, Thomas/team took the time to make an longer than normal video if I’m not mistaken cause at the time of making this video would be the last video of its kind.
Love the army and luftwaffe batons, looks like they were made yesterday. Just beautiful. Great videos Tom
Mr Wittmann , you missed the info saying who the later General Von Thoma was - surrendered at Alamein .
Loving this.
Greetings from Ireland mr Wittmann and a happy new year to you and yours, your videos are amazing it's like history standing still.
This is the fencer only two of them known, this is the third one 😖🤪🤣
I realise this is primary edge weapons but wish you’d look at the age fire arms, as I see some in the background on occasions !
Awesome. One day I’m Gona get to one of these shows. Come to Florida please
11:55 The inscription on the AH photo is as far as I can see it "Berlin, den 19. ?April?" . I'm not sure about "April" but the rest is clearly readable. He had a special way to write the "A"
8:10 Sturmbannführer equals Major. Colonel equals Standartenführer.
Very interesting video Thomas! I can personally collect with this video my one and only dagger I own recently getting into the hobby is personalized luftwaffe with a glass grip by a guy named “lutz Reuter” in gold inlay truly amazing history unfortunate I couldn’t find anything up on him but truly a piece I’ll never get rid of!
You should say what the prices are.
46:34 the rings on the hands of the uniform are the "Kolbenringe" the mother of the kompanie (Einheit) not the high ranking man in the kompanie but he was for al little
things responsible. The mother of the kompanie. Sorry for my englisch. Grüße aus 🇦🇹 Österreich
Your English is fine, and thank you for the input!
The nickname vor the mother of the compagnie is "Spieß"
Thank you for your Videos.
Danke für Ihre Videos 👏 😉👍👌
I learn a lot from your Video's.
I have 💯 of books from WW1/2, but al the things around the daggers are new for me. 😁
Spieß is like a First Sergeant.
@@kc0jtl not only
@@book3840 In the US Army it would be either a First Sergeant at company level or a Sergeant Major at any level above that.
Greetings from Bulgaria🇧🇬
Great work
Cool from down under only if here!!
great video👍
I have a ww1 name badge and I had found all of the persons documents . But I cannot find a photo of him
Nice video
What cover the swaz? New rules? Protestors?
The very first interview was with a John and I couldn't understand the last name. It sounded like Rommel. Does anyone know who this person is and does he have a website?
Hi Steve. It’s Rummel; but Tom always calls me Rommel ( no relation by the way). I don’t have a website; but I’m in Dublin, Ohio and can send you my email
@@johnrummel3804 Hey John, I was waiting for you to tell us what happened to Reissman, and yelled a literal ‘damn!’ when you guys moved on to a new topic. I also am more concerned with the human connection than anything else, especially since he sounded like a basically decent person (the SS doctor can kiss my ass though)…can you please tell me more information on the man? Especially as to his final disposition and what happened to him?
If he was alive, would you consider returning it to him? He’s probably not, I’m just wondering.
I returned a medal (I had purchased an Iron Cross First Class due to it having initials and a traceable number carved into it) in 2000 to a Wehrmacht veteran who had it looted from him when he surrendered and the man damn near bowled me over with happiness…I ended up being a guest of honor at his home for three days while waiting to deploy with my unit on a training exercise at at place called Hohenfels.
great video as you always put out!, do Gerhard have a website would be nice to se more from his collections of Klessheim
Hi from Belgium
Is there a show still scheduled for February 2021 ? Or has COVID forced it to cancel ?
Maybe these daggers come back to the familys who previously owned them.......
Still find it weird that so many people collect the arms of an army that hasn't won much for 100 s of yrs Very camp
Will you be at the Timonium show On March 21?
I'm pretty sure Tom and his son Rob will be in attendance.
Awesome. It will be nice to meet them.
Hello sir i am constantly looking for to seeing your show which interest's me alot and i would like to make a connection with you.
Zeev Raskin from israel.
I like German world war II uniform and German world war II visor caps
Hi Tom just started watching your videos I really like them.
Kevin price.
p.s. are you on Facebook.
Thanks, Kevin. Tom is not on Facebook; I doubt very highly that he even knows what it is!
10th mountain !!
I’m the one wearing the 10th Mountain. My grandfather served in the TMD 86-A in Italy.
Hi love the video, my dad served in Italy also in ww2 10th mountain division
@@TT-hi1qv what’s his name. My grandfather was in 86-A
John Rummel Hi John Tim here my dads name was David Tyler I will try to get more info on him thanks.
Any chance we could get a special video on katana from ww2? I know you're more into the third Reich stuff, but I always see them glossed over or in the background of your videos and always want to hear and see more about them.
That look head saber is beautiful....
I just figured out I’m in the video! 🤭
yes we saw you several times hanging about the mens toilet
i need some prices lol
The prices are like Mount Everest - steep.
i have two hitler stamps and the serial numbers. love this stuff. I call it occult collections.
How can I buy a German tunic?
Primarks doing a sale
I'm very confused, Reifmann is a jewish name....
Good work, but unfortunately the sound was bad.
It's true; we've always struggled with the sound in these show rooms. We have purchased a new camera mounted microphone, however, so hopefully things will improve.
. good and I look forward to new video episodes from you.
Wittmann Antique Militaria is unique to collectors and also has a great historical value. with best regards Rainer Laakso
Joe's daggers 😲, I'd buy the whole goddam table, look at the pristine blades !! I'll find a way to afford these even if they're expensive.
Daggers are really my thing waow SOS never disappoints !
Thank you for posting Tom 👌🏼👍
The text on the Hitler portrait reads : "Berlin den 11/Mai" Translation : Berlin, May 11th
The fond is called Sütterlin-Schrift and is an old prussian type of writing. I can read and write it.
Its the same fond used in the Ernst-Röhm motto "In herzlicher Kameradschaft Ernst Röhm" Translation : In sincere comradeship Ernst Röhm
@David McGuire yes sure!
Good
So there was only one Lt.with that name in the entire German army? Not being critical just asking.
Surprisingly yes. I thought the name would be more common, but Werner Reissmann was the only person in the Rank Lists as a Ltn.
I know all those guys . They came to the show to show off , ,,but not to sell anything. What they asking for is arm and a leg....lol
After all some german uniforms have decent price for it......
well Thomas Wittman is the blade man for sure. to dispute his opinion is militaria suicide. that's a fact Jack
Grüße aus Niederösterreich
Grüß Gott.
Incredible how well that guy had ruined a perfect over 3000 dollar ss dagger into almost worthless "tool knife" for messing around, unbelieveable. Those things havent always been so valuable but the thought that one day such items could be worth a fortune never crossed the minds of those who got to decide the wonderful fates of the items, its just tragic frustrating even. Maybe they should have focused more on doing their duties as soldiers than looting or hoarding German veterans items as bringbacks to trash, luckily at least some of them were spared of the abuse and were maintained properly over the decades, which has ultimately let us see them again. Incredible hobby and good video but i dont condone the spoils of war-attitude some US soldiers have had when hoarding this stuff and not having the intention of properly keeping them.
I don’t condone it either and I am a combat veteran myself. If we acted in such an undisciplined way, we would lose rank and quite possibly our freedom. Luckily many lessons were learned; the US actually became the object of embarrassment with our fellow allies when it came to looting, outright thievery and even rap e. Lessons were learned, our military is much more disciplined now, but it is nothing to be proud of.
Were there a decent amount of younger attendees at the show?
Without them this hobby could fade away due to political correctness...
Younger collectors have always been a minority, but it seems their numbers have gone up somewhat in the last few years.
auxmike Also people need to remember they can’t price the new people coming in out of the hobby
The problem with this hobby(i am a collector myself) is if someone walks into your home snd sees your collection and you have nazi flags they thing your a nazi
Yea that's the Curse of TR Collecting
