    Very nice video. I love the japanese sword a lot. It is not chrysanthemums but cherry blossom or sakura in japanese. Very nice naval piece! Greetings from belgium 🇧🇪.
    And let us all live in peace and learn from history ☮️

    So much knowledge of edged weapons, I could listen to him go all day long. Thanks for teaching so much of the history of such great long lost craftsmen of that era. People will always criticize and say you're just collecting objects of evil and hate, just cause wonderfully talented craftsmen made them doesn't mean they believed in the ideology so take them for what they are historic pieces of long lost talented people proudly crafting something that sill functional eighty something years later. I am proud to be German.

    Those tags are interesting. Many dont realize how big a part the NAZIs & the war played in crafting how international trade works today. It helped take the Anglo-American Establishment & their system world wide.

    Tom, I hope you can answer my question: I am thinking of going to the SOS next year as a European. Do you bring cash to such a place or can you pay for stuff with a debit card? My second question is how do you keep your stuff "safe" during the show? You walk around and someone can just snatch a degen from your table if your son or someone else is not paying attention.

    • @connorpalmer9208
      @connorpalmer9208 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Like 90% of dealers are cash only I will tell you that from going this last week. Secondly, he has a few people working for him that watch his table when he’s up and walking around.

    • @WittmannAntiqueMilitaria
      @WittmannAntiqueMilitaria  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cash is almost always going to be the way to go; most of these old guys will give you a blank stare if you had them a card. They are definitely stuck in a time warp.
      As for safety, they've always got someone sitting at the table when he and Rob are walking around. I think it was Tom Junior this year.

    The sword from 34:30... Im from Denmark. And Gunther pancke was in Denmark. He was a obergruppenfuhrer and police general. In 1943 to the end of the war he was head of police and in 1944 he was responsible for the terror attack (operation Mowe and hipo) Taking total control on what was left of danish police... Residing in the police headquarters in Copenhagen panckes hipo used terror and torture. Many danish police fled to Sweden. 2000 were sent to concentration camps and many died there. Pancke got promoted to general in waffen SS in marts 1945. In 1950 he was sentence to 20 years of prison for crimes against humanity. After 8 years of prison he was released in 1953.

    Some of these daggers and swords with these unusual and crude stampings would make me nervous. These are on expensive blades and they wouldn't be something I'd personally buy. My risk factor has dropped a lot having been burned in the past. The blades are original. I'm just talking about the crude stampings and etchings.
