RIDING a New KTM 1290 Super Adventure on Mountainbike Single Tracks

- My new 2022 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is an awesome adventure motorcycle but some are scared it's to big to take it offroad. So i took my 1290 super adventure to a mountainbike single track and tested this for myself wearing a go pro 10 with the media mod. I have been riding a Husqvarna 350FE enduro for many years but this is the first time i'm taking out the big heavy bike for this offroad adventure. This is probably gonna trigger mountainbikers but no worries , this single track is mostly abandoned.

I see myself as totally not haha. I have zero experience with big boy bikes. This is all new. I have been riding offfoad for many years but always on a normal tempo. I don't have a wining attitude , i'm the captain slow of the team 😁
That looks like lots of fun! I also get the "The bike is too heavy to ride" stuff swung at my head, and the moment you prove them wrong, they come up with something else ;) . Just enjoy the ride, which you seem to do. Also.. that ending.. was hilarious :') . Please keep this quality of content, it's enjoyable to watch.
lol its defo too heavy, that was level 0 difficulty trail on flat terrain, no rocks no slope, u could even do that with an R1

When I first got my 1190ADVR I started single tracking in CO. Many pucker moments, but certainly doable. The benefits of the large bikes are the road manners. I picked up a 701 a couple years later and while it's way better on singles, on the highway with 40/60s it is super sketch.
Love the end, it's always screwing around that dumps a bike.

@@LifeofSmokey any time I watch an edited video with front and back recording I see a lot of clips, trimming, deleting etc. You have to walk some few meters away to set up your GoPro etc. It's a lot of work

smokey you just almost have convinced me that this bike is the way to go. 1. you got rid of the godawful blue (your graphics are spot on)... and 2. your not Chris Birch, but you can get around in some off road stuff and a normal human can ride the bike in the woods and obviously do it with some ease, and looks like it's fun while doing it. thanks for the effort and entertainment!

Lost some bedliner paint on the crashbars haha. I still have a brand new black set of crash bars. I didn't buy this bike to put it in a glass box. I'm gonna crash it more often as i really wanna train myself and get better on these big buffalo's 😁

Hey bud! Yeah i'm from Belgium 😁. These trails get really bad and have a terrible flow when riding a mountainbike. So they are mostly abandoned 😅.

Let us know when you flat spot your rims because it will happen even if you don't reduce your tyre pressure. Could you do a video showing us how the electronics effect the wheelie abilities. Mine will lift the front wheel a small amount in sports mode but only a small amount and I don't know if that's because I'm useless at wheelies or if it's the electronics. Great vid👍👍

Ook wonende in “de Vlaanders” zie ik u rijden waar het een heel klein beetje verboden is. 😱 En dan zag ik ook dat je gewoon zonder nrplaat aan het toeren was. Dit ifv de verboden single trails? Sloebertje. 😊
Zonder nummerplaat? Meestal niet hoor , en de routes die ik rij die rijdt ik al vanaf mijn 14 😅. Dus 25 jaar lang haha maar wel altijd op rare uren nu om te filmen. Dus een maandag om 11u ofzo nooit in de weekends en nooit superhard dat ik er rijdt. Nog nooit last gehad met eender wie 😊

Mitas E10 dakar front and rear. Pressure was not that low. My guess was 2-2.2bar or something. 😁

I rode a 1290 on some single tracks when the 790 was released. It wasn't difficult to ride although I was concerned that I couldn't stop it without crashing.
Yeah it rides really easily in tight corners if you wiggle that body around. But i do agree that at some point it might get sketchy if you are not a 200cm 140kg man 😁
The scary feel just adds to the excitement. I loved the forgiving nature of the 1290SAR from accelerating out of corners in the wrong gear to hitting ruts at the wrong speed.

Trail needs to have a creek,rocks,and some straight up and down stuff to really be a trail......... a smooth level path thru the woods a Gold Wing could go on it.

Hey Mate. Does the bike wheelie even on maximum anti wheelie control? Or you've set it at minimum?
I just turn the MTC off that's all. I never work with minimum or maximum or anything in between 😁. I keep it on for safety or i turn it off for maximum pleasure 😅

Smokey baby 🙂, did you get a KTM tool kit as with the Bike when you bought it. Most bikes come with some sort of a tool kit but it seems I didn't get any with mine (or maybe KTM don't want donkey's like me taking spanners to their masterpiece 🙂)
Nope it's time to safe up at KTM i guess. 😂 No tool kit or cool ktm map with all the paperwork in it. With my older ktm's i got this cool map with all the paperwork inside , manuals , books , keys and even a ktm pen....now nothing , just a paper i bought the bike 😅

Only Rain and Offroad modes are 100HP. Rally, Street, Sport are 160HP.

@@LifeofSmokey no problem, it would be shame not to use Rally mode when it is so good and allows to make all the adjustments.
There is info about it in owners manual! Great videos btw.
@@jefta88 MTC and rear ABS off are best adjustments. I like to control my bike, not go autopilot on.

It is amazing how many people need to prove just how big a badass they are with huge bikes..................1 crash can total these behemoths.

This is not a good idea to ride a new motorbike like that, there is something called break in and contrary to what people are thinking this is not only about the engine. Before to do that kind of things, you need to do some easy miles to get tires, brakes and so on in good shape. There is also the need for the driver to get used to the bike before to do some tough things. When you have such a pricey bike, a little attention is better. Don't ever purchase a used bike from that man.
It's got 1700km on it , got it first check up at 1000km so it's fine 😁. I made a video about the price of the first maintenance and what was done. Came home and found out i had no sound recorded. Bummed me out so much i didn't make that video again. So it's 1700km brand spanking new 😌
@@LifeofSmokey Then you are absolutely right and I stand corrected. This is because I like mechanics and I push by bike but don't mistreat it. Remember some people are bad enough to forget break in and don't mention it when they sell it used which I believe is not fair to say the least. Glad you are taking care of your motorbike well.
@@edouardl2 in one of my other videos you can see me riding it on street tires. I did the run in fase on the road only just cruising and shifting a lot. No high revs 😁.
