    I had the same exact problem on my 2006. I did see some blue colored plastic pieces on the floor below the brake pedal. I google around and the main culprit was the switch. I went to youtube and saw this video. Mine looks exactly the same so I got the kit and fixed it.
    I owe you a great deal of gratitude for making this video. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for the video, showing off the Thing-a-Mabob, and doing a service to your fellow humans!! Already replaced my dead battery, $170; after installing it, I realized the brake lights were on... wwwhhhaaaa??? Cars not on... Some internet searching pointed out the suspect part, and sure enough the plastic bumper had deteriorated. Was pretty disheartened as the page that pointed out the issue also said it was going to be anywhere from $80-$150 to get it fixed in the shop. Went looking for some DIY info and luckily found your video. Certainly don't mind shelling out another $8 at Autozone to fix the issue... but tomorrow, lol, it's late. Glad I didn't replace the battery during the day or I may not have noticed the lights. Unplugged the power from the brake switch for the evening, oddly enough also a 2006 Honda Civic! :)
    Very helpful video, thank you!!

    I think he has them reversed. The black one is the clutch and the white one is the brake. We don't have a clutch and the piece that broke off on the brake looks like the white one. Also on the video itself, the clutch looks like the black piece without the pointed guide.

    • @juancarlosmata3791
      @juancarlosmata3791 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed that as well. He has them backwards. That’s why he had a problem changing the clutch piece.

    Can there be a water/rain leak on carpet after fixing this brake part? Did the mechanic mess up?

    My 2009 Honda Accord center brake light works, but the other two brake lights do not come on. The brake light switch is good, I also checked where all wires connect to the ground, and it looks good. Any suggestions on what to check next would be greatly appreciated.

    • @shanvhere78
      @shanvhere78  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be many factors but easiest way is try a new bulb, check the tail light fuse in the fuse box, may sound weird but check your turn signal switch are some easy ways

    • @msedillo
      @msedillo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanvhere78 thanks for your advice, I am checking the turn signal switch next. Note: I replaced the turn signal switch and the brake lights are still not working. Do you have any other suggestions?

    • @shanvhere78
      @shanvhere78  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@msedillo sorry for late reply hope you fixed it, if not there is most likely a broken wire you may have to trace the wire from the back to the front. A good way to test if it’s not broken is to do a continuity test from back to front to see if a connection is there
