I'm trying to decide between T300 and Gen4 0311 XP. My club speed is slowing down with age, and I need forgiveness. I can't do a side by side comparison but based on this video it seems that I would be smarter to gravitate towards custom fit T300's over the 0311 XP. Does that sound reasonable to you or did I get it wrong. I'm a Saturday morning golfer going into my 60's. Love your channel and thanks.
I tested the 790 and matched that w my S55 Ping. Sure enough 790 went like 140-150 meters. My s55 went 130-140 meters with Tietliest practise balls. However, the head was heavy on p790 and the weight of total club made me pull the handle. Once I knew that I wanted to kill the ball.To me I just want control the distance. So S55 Ping with a middle head I am more confident...
I have the gen 2 XF irons with a 7 iron swing speed of about 93-96 mph. I'm also a 12 handicap but manage to accurately and consistently hit my 7 iron 178-185 range. I'd say try the XF model too and see the comparison.
Sounds like you’re getting strikes on the bottom of the face but still good ball speed with lower spin is causing this. Would be easier to just work on your swing instead of changing irons, just my 2¢ though!
He didn’t make no sense... he said the pxg has more spin an more control but when on test all the p790 shot was right on top of each other seems like to me the p790 has more control an consistency then pxg
No, the pxg has more spin. More spin = more control. The p790s are getting more distance by cutting spin (a common modern tactic), but those 7 irons are going to land on a green and release to the back or worse, go off. There are limits to what Clubs can do, when you see one iron going crazy longer it's not because it's "better", it's because it's changing something to achieve that distance. Most of the time, that means cutting spin to gain distance. But that means you lose significant control when you really go out to play. Imagine all your 7 irons flying and landing like your 4 iron does. It's hard to score when every iron releases.
I think that using the PXG 0311 Gen or its successor 0311P would have been a better comparison to the P790.
I've always been torn between the P-790 and the M-18 MMC clubs. Both feel and perform great for me, with the Mizuno getting a slight advantage. JM2C
I might put them up head to head to see how they compare!
Nice one, I’m thinking of grabbing a second hand set of the PXG’s

Simon - love your pushing second hand clubs. How does one get custom fit when you buy used?
Only thing you can do is get new shafts fitted
Need to compare the pxg 0311xf model, which is the pxg distance iron to the p790 distance iron. The 0311t is the one use by staff tour players.

PXG v Benross or lynx. £400 an iron versus £65 an iron....I dare you!
Hit a stinger on a par 3 with alot of wind
PXG destroys TM
PXG Gen 3 vs the P790
How would they play on a windy day with all the launch it’s getting ?
Thanks for watching! What Head to Head do you want to see next?
Have the P790 but get the odd flyer adding 20+ yards this flying the green. Doing my head in so might go MP18? Thoughts anyone?

Do a 0311 gen 1 vs P790?
What is there in English how many ounces

Miura MB 101 vs Cobra King Tour
Epic star v p790
Haven't got the star version but can test it against the original?
IMO the P790 is the Dogs Bollox, whilst the PSG just looks like a dog!
For me I can't look at all the screws at the back of the club, just looks too complicated
Been using p790 for more than a year now and I love it! Pxg is pricey and way overrated.
Every club/brand is overrated. Just pick the one the works best and you can afford.
Could you swing any harder? Haha 🤘🏻
