I just purchased a P set this last weekend. One of the worst feelings in the world is buying such amazing beautiful irons and leaving the golf shop with my old set. still waiting on delivery lol. What I wanted to mention is that I had no intentions of purchasing PXG that day. I told my fitter that i wanted to swing every iron available. I didnt care if I walked out of that store with a used set of Tour Edge Irons. If the numbers stacked up and they were the clubs for me, then thats what I was going buy. I ended up widdling it down to the TItleist CB (amazing club) and PXG 0311 P. At one point I was going to go home with the CB. Other than the CB spinning a little higher, the number were almost identical. What lead me to taking home the PXG was the forgiveness. Toe and heely strikes were only falling of 5-8 yards. Unlike the CB, which was a 15 yard drop off on a toe strike. Simply amazing clubs. If you have the chance go and hit them.
Thanks, they really are cracking. I have to add though when I was being fitted for the clubs I felt at times it was more of a shaft fitting. I don't think people realize that when you buy PXGs you get so much more than just a quality head. Just about any shaft on the market comes included in the price.
I don't get all the comments about the price of the clubs. They clearly aren't targeted at the golfer who is concerned with the price. If you can't justify the price it doesn't mean that you should have a negative view of them as they clearly perform amazingly well
Just bought a set and I'm waiting on delivery. I went combo XF and P. I tried the Srixon z585 and that's a really great set of irons too! I thought the PXG was softer in feel that I preferred, but the z585 were great. I like how Srixon has less offset in the mid/long irons, but I wasn't crazy about the short irons. I also though it was too big a jump to go z585/ z785 combo. If I played more I'd consider the z785, but 2 or 3 rounds a month would be tough with consistency. I tried the P790, but it was a little too firm, but a great performing club. I'm not aware of any other iron on the market that offers the PXG feel with distance??? The other hollow body clubs all lacked the feel/sound I prefer. If I had a 90+ mph swing speed like Michael, I'd go Mizuno 919 Forged, but that club had too much spin and lacked distance for me.
Thank you for reveiwing the PXG Michael- can you do a review of the PXG, 919 mizuno & p780? i'm not quite sure which one i would go - Thank you so much- Bubba!
A lot of people here missing the point on PXG irons. It’s like saying why buy a AP watch for $50,000 when you can buy a Casio for $100 because the Casio tells just as good time. They’re a luxury that few can justify. I’m in no position to afford a full set of PXG, but if I was, why not? They’re classy products that put a smile on your face when they’re in your hands. I see so many people complaining about PXG’s online. Bob Parsons whole idea was to spare no expense in making the best products they possibly could - they were never made to be mass market clubs available to everyone.
Wilson F6 v.s. an over priced club? Well the F6 is better feeling club and exceptionally consistent. Never would have even looked at the Wilson if it wasn’t for the rave reviews from multiple people. There is no doubt every day golfers are looking the BEST club at a respectable price! Don’t understand if Wilson produces a club of this caliber why would the PXG be so expensive, even Taylor made and Callaway are getting over priced. I’m not into golf for the prestige of owning clubs. I don’t see PXG surviving?? Good luck!! I enjoy your reviews, perhaps a review of the best bargain/ performing clubs on the market?
Look impressive, but out if my price bracket. Interested to know if you plan on reviewing the new Cobra Forged TEC Black one length irons anytime soon?
Hey Mike. There was a considerable difference in your club head speed between the models, but the smash factor was the same. That would account for a lot of the difference in distance. 4.6 mph (T to SGI) @ 1.36 smash would account for a good 10 yards. So at the same chs, the distance difference between the T and SGI would be only 2 to 4 yards. That's pretty impressive. What do you attribute the differences in your chs? Was it something to do with the club itself, or simply a factor of your swing warming up?
I am considering these irons...P or T. I hit the P a little more consistently, but hit the T well too. The P goes a little further, to be expected given lofts. Question, I am an 11.5 index. I hope to break into single digits in the next couple years. Will the P hold me back in any way, given the thicker sole? For example, will I have trouble shaping the ball? Thank you.
PXG custom fits the set to you, personally I hit my 5-9 in players irons, but my 3 and 4 are their tour collection. So yes, theoretically (however unlikely) you could have the SGI, XF, P, and T in your set of irons lol
I'm saving up for a set of these bad boys! 4,5,6 in XF and 7,8,9,W in P. Hopefully the GEN 3 will be out by the time I have cash together! :) I love them. Period. Lambo's are great cars, but the fucking price of them, OMfG!!! Well, piss off and buy a Carolla then!!
Let's face it Michael, the average golfer could not afford these clubs. I have to say these golf clubs look amazing, if you want the full set with woods, wedges, putter. We are talking thousands of pounds, and who would be willing to pay that much money.
Hi Mike, If they are as good as PXG say they are why are the Top Players not playing them, looks like a rich boys toy to me. Just my opinion, enjoying the videos.
Hi Pete, hope your well. It’s all about £££’s for the players on tour as you know. Would love to see which player played what clubs if no money was involved! Hmmmm.....
Hi Michael! Thanks for the video. So what's the verdict? I saw you reviewed the new Gen 3's with a 0311 gun to your head! :) How much have the new generation improved? They seem to be a lot hotter/stronger than the Gen 2's. Do they feel that much better than the previous Gens!? Thanks.
Great review Michael. Do you think the price tag for Pxg is justified or is it just a status symbol club? Comsidering, as an example, Sixon irons which are beautifully made clubs and probably give as much feel as the Pxg, but at a third of the cost. Thanks Paul
PC I personally live in Scottsdale where PXG is based and played with their director of sales and hit a few of them on the course. It’s just a ping with weights all over it. Virtually no difference performance or feel wise. Just expensive to make guys feel good I guess.
Thanks Smeker. I've seen them down at my club fitters and I personally don't like the look of them so never bothered giving them a hit. I've got my eye on the Miura mc501's... They're a beautiful looking club with amazing feel so the Pxg's will have to be something really special for me to turn my attention over the Miuras. I'll give then a hit next time I'm down there.
Smeker nothing more than a Ping? You’ve lost your mind. You say that there is no performance or feel difference from a PIng club when you’ve never hit them? Sure you know (at the minimum) Pings are cast iron....k, 👋
There is a military discount that could bring these into a realm of somewhat affordable for certain folks. Basically paying for a look, a very unique look to those that have the want/disposable income. To each their own!
With the SGI's, if you have the money to buy them, you have the money to buy lessons to learn how to play properly without a brick on a stick! 😂 I love the P and the T models though and anyone who says they don't feel good is lying!
PC I bought a set of Wilson c300 Forged last week and on my first round with them I had a fairway bunker shot to play from 130 yards pulled my 9 iron out then bottled it as there was stones in the bunker. I ended up dinking it out with one of my old wedges. Next time I'll probably hit the 9 iron ha ha.
The fact people are commenting about the price on here is because it's their opinion and PXG just so happen to be one of the most expensive set of clubs out there (I won't mention the price of the golf bag). It's hardly surprising the main topic is all about the price. Isn't the point of having a TH-cam channel to get people's views on what is being reviewed? And share their thoughts with a community of like minded people? If people can't post their opinions what's the point .. we might as well start watching North Korea State Television. What winds me up about PXG is not the price tag but the fact they have the nerve to say they're the best clubs PERIOD .. what a bunch of arrogant wan....s! Instead of putting 4k in Parson's pocket .. spend 2k on another set and spend the other 2k on a nice present for the Mrs .. she'll let you play as much golf at the weekend as you want ;) A happy wife is a quiet life (not unless your name happens to be Mrs Glover) :)
Excellent review of all current models of the PXG 0311 GEN 2 irons.
XF are incredible! Beautiful swing Michael

I own the model P 4 to W and a 3 Iron in the XF. I love every single one of them.
Sounds like a great setup with the XF 3 Iron 👌

I have the 311XF, love them, a little longer and fly higher than my Ping G irons.
I just ordered 4-Gw set of the XF. I currently play the 0211. Looking for a bit forgiveness.

George Woodfield nailed it George, hope your well 👍

I love mine 0311 xf
Wow these look incredible....nice review as always.
These clubs look amazing, I was able to hit the original 0311xf and definitely would of bought them if they were cheaper.
Thank you for reveiwing the PXG Michael- can you do a review of the PXG, 919 mizuno & p780? i'm not quite sure which one i would go - Thank you so much- Bubba!

Well said Rhys

Could you do a test comparing the 0311 vs the 0311P?!
That’s what ur watching
I am considering these irons...P or T. I hit the P a little more consistently, but hit the T well too. The P goes a little further, to be expected given lofts. Question, I am an 11.5 index. The P will not hold you back
Could have a combo of all 4 in a set

i think the price hit home just as you are about to strike the xf third shot listen carefully lol
They do cost a little more but well worth it.
These clubs are on sale right now at $159/club.

It’s the guys who’s can afford them.......
on sale for $125 a club for VETS. That seems more reasonable to me
@@WJ3864 how do you get that pricing?
Which model would you choose out of the 4?

How come some of these have screws holding on the head and others don't?
Holding on the head??? 🤔
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Yes why do some have them and others are glued?

Clearly have the ping look but different class of feel

We will see if you keep that opinion when you get close to 70 yrs. old.
If I was paying £400 an iron I wouldn’t want them to be called super game improvement
Well you can..... get the SGI model!
There not, there called SGI 🤣
$125 right now for vets
Are they better than their Gen 1 iron ?
My gen2 7 iron goes at least 7 yds further than my gen1
We all no How expensive they are so why didn’t you give us a price of them
Approx £400 per iron
Think how you would feel if you got a stone chip.. Gutted, so much so it would spoil your round :-)

FF :-) I don't blame you, it's what I would have done too. Hope you are loving your new wilsons.. Lovely looking clubs

I can just see all these screw holes full up with mud after one round on a damp golf course. No thanks.
How come some have screw holes and some don't?
The 0211 model is cast and does not have screws and they are terrific clubs at about 1/2 the price
