How is your response with the joystick, on my pacman deluxe theres about half second delay, its so bad you can hear the music in dig dug stop playing whenever you make a turn. Pacman patterns is unplayable and makes regular play impossible, aswell as a bunch of other games are just frustrating to play. My audio is noticeably different, it sounds higher pitched and muffles out a little, i dont know what it is but its definitely not the way the games should sound. My gen 1 cabinet plays far better than this
I haven’t noticed any delay just the stick isn’t as tight as MK2, I’ll have to play Ms Pac-Man and Dig Dug and see if I notice anything tonight. So far everything seems to be pretty good, I will let you know. Thanks for watching Christocream!

Have you ever actually played an arcade game before. Dig dug is supposed to be that way, thats how it is in the arcade. I can hit the killscreen in Pac-man, and get to a 1,000,000 on dig dug, and galaga, there's nothing wrong with them, and there is no lag. I'm really tempted to get this one, it's a great replica of the 2001 cabinet. I just don't like how they have bumps and screws visible, that's the only thing they still really miss on...but! it is a beauty.

Thank you soo much for pointing out how to return to the menu! For the life of me I couldn't find where it said how to, and I was about to open the thing back up, phew. Now, I see when you select a game it tells you to hold the button.
The Deluxe's are def an improvement over the previous releases. Both cabinets have alot of games in my usual favorite rotation. If the buttons are ok maybe just do the spring on that stick, its probably a 2lb and for a 4 way stick a 6lb would be the way to go, I have all 4lb springs on my cabinets that are 8 way but on a 4 way stick 6lb will make it feel much more arcade authetic, congrats on the pickups they are sweet looking cabinets for sure.

I have memories from around the 2000s, my dad would take us to Burger King and we would play Galaga and Mrs Pacman every time we went. My dad had the high score for that cabinet until BK went out of business lol I'm giving him this cabinet for father's day this year.

Being born in 1981 and a Galaga fan I couldnt pass up the og release. Already Szabos marquee and coin doored it. And could I get the Galaga 88 score i have again?! If I hadn't id get this. I dig the slant for sure.
Awesome looking cab. Very Jealous. Still no sign of these making their way OS (I'm in Sydney Australia). In the past, they'd be at least a preorder up by now if we were getting them, but so far, nothing. We've missed out on so many like KI, Blitz, MK 30TH, Star Wars, Tron, etc. It's a shame cause I had some funds earmarked for these Deluxe cabs but looks like I might go with my second option of getting a MVSX instead. I'll just appreciate yours from afar. Peace brother
Sorry to hear Ben, I hope A1up releases some of these Deluxe to Australia I remember MVC2 made it doesn’t make sense nothing since. Hey John, I’ve had a marquee go out on me that I had to purchase. I’ve never extended a warranty, but most cases you should be ok down the road and if something does happen parts are available.
@PD7 Nah, not with new Arcade1up cabinets. Retention usually stays. On other product reviews, I noticed drop-off rather quickly if intros are long. Which I never understand. That's my birth year. I'm sure the Ms.Pacman is the slow version, like always on these official machines. I have a half DK, half OG Pacman machine that is 9 years old.

Those works be fun to play on an arcade! Bionic Commando has one of the best covers for nes. If you have a Gen 1 you could swap control deck with Intec that has a nes port for carts on it.
Are the control panels better on these lately, early ones the paint would rub off. Does this have a thin plexi layer to protect the paint, or some other means?

Excellent review! How tall do they “feel”? Do you use riser boosters on any of your other cabs and if so, do you feel like these need the same or are they just about right for someone your height? Thanks again for these incredible reviews filled with all the important details! My only negative would be that I wish they released the trinity of cabs all at the same time so that I knew I could upgrade my Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga cabs to the individual Deluxe versions but for now, I’ll just have to wait and hope that they do.
MK2 and 81 are a perfect height for me I’m 5’9 I think your ok 6’0 or under. Riser boosters come in for taller people. Stool or standing I’m comfortable on both. I’m hoping F&F monitor will be higher up like in T2, I raised RR up because screen felt too low. A trinity would be as cool as a Konami legacy, we’re running out of room lol! @thepuzzledmagician I’ve learned to live with their joysticks, but if you decide later it will be hard getting underneath inside the cab to change it out. This model is connected to monitor so it’s a pain trying to get inside the back of cab on that angle.
Do they have a setting on Ms Pac man to be able to play the double-speed mode? I remember back in the day there was a Ms Pac man that was twice the speed or more and I'd love to play that version again.
Another great review, PD! So, I am super tempted to buy this - as you say, it looks very arcade accurate. That slanted screen is what really does it for me. That said, do I get this OR do I wait for the very probable XL version? . Ever since I got the GTXL I really only want that form factor now-lol. What do you think man?
I know I do too, my Golden Tee is in the back living room and every time I look at it I think it’s a real arcade, Shaq Jam is same size but doesn’t resemble a real arcade like GT. Deluxe cabs do, but they’re going to be smaller height, screen and marquee. It could be 2 years before we see XL on some of these, I think there’s going to be mixtures in arcades. Thank you DC, it depends what cabinet colors you prefer and games list. Class of 81 is the only deluxe cab with 12 games, everything else has 14. Pac will have pac man games and class will have Ms pac man games. Both having all of the Galaga’s and Rolling Thunder. If I was to make a decision today I’d go with Galaga Deluxe over both, because the 14 games over 12 and it’s the pac man games plus it looks really cool. Whichever you decide wait for a 399 sale later this year :)
I’ve been torn. Part of me wants to go get it right now at Best Buy. But I have the dig dug legacy cabinet and the baby blue ms pac man cab. So I’m essentially getting mostly all the same games! What to do? What to do!?
I have the OG Class of '81 and am very tempted to upgrade to this. It just looks great. Awesome review!!!! I did have a question; you were peeling the protective plastic sheet off of the marquee? Do you have to put that on/in the marquee itself?
I accidentally left that scene out of video, so right before you sandwich the 2 sides you drop the marquee in the slot. So the only downside is if you for some reason decided to change it out, the entire side has to come off. Thank you for watching Andy, if you sell yours it should get 3/4 the cost for Deluxe.
It bothers me a bit that the blue on the bottom of the mspacman side is darker than the top half. You need to lower the exposure on your cancers when you move further away from the light source. Lowering exposure let’s you take a shot of the marquee from across the room and it’s perfectly visible.

@uno3863 I’m very happy with my Class of 81, I haven’t changed anything with mine keeping it stock. The only thing is the volume with this cab and PacMan is very high even at volume 1 it’s loud. Just take your time putting together and have plenty of light. Please let me know what you think and if you run into anything I’ll be around :)
10:40 the original class of 81 (20 year reunion, which is the first aka original) only had ms pac man and Galaga. You could also play pacman only if you moved the joystick in a sequence of directions on the insert coin screen. I know this because I have the original arcade in my house
Only full size. I started collecting in the early 2000’s. The only ones I have left right now is the reunion, donkey Kong, Ms pac man, Mario bros (regular body), track and field cocktail and a neo geo 4 slot.
This is a great cab. I like that it features two great, iconic cabinets in one. I played the original Class of 81 in an arcade about 15 years ago. Glad A1up released this. I'm enjoying mine, but I do need a volume attenuator, as it's a bit too loud. LOL. I wish I had enough to pick up the Pac Man version of the Deluxe edition as well as this one. Thanks for sharing this. :)
The speakers are an improvement, even at 1 it’s loud enough to hear. I think this is one of the best looking A1up cabs next to Star Wars / Dragons Lair, it’s the main reason I went with this over Pac-Man but pac is good too. Just watch the video where it shows Galaga and movement of the joystick and see how long it takes for the ship to move in relation it. Feels like almost half a second to me but I didn’t time it.
So I'm not the only one. I have the Pac-Man Deluxe cab. Different games I know... But yep, there does seem to be something off. Also a little skippy on the frame rate. Not my imagination. My gen 1 Galaga plays better.

It's so funny with all the cabs I got, the ugly marquee from arcade 1 up never bothered me. The only times I upgrades was to turn a non lit marquee into lit ones like the original cabs had back in 2018-2019. I upgraded the sticks, the springs, and even raised most of mine about 3-4 inches but the marquees I left alone.
They don’t look bad it’s just on camera they do not show up good, funny thing is I’ve never changed sticks or springs :) where are you going to put Star Wars?
@@PDX7 ahh you remembered my friend. I actually have it sitting in my living room for now. We are still enjoying it. I missed out on the original release back in early 1 up days. Looking back I remember I walked by the display at Walmart and they were selling Star Wars for 200 clearance and I just walked by as I wasn’t into collecting them like I am now. Now I paid 599 lol. Although I do like the lit up coin doors but a 400 price increase hmmm. I figure once we are done enjoying Star Wars im going to probably make some room with my main cabs as I think I can squeeze one more if I just move my fridge next to my t2 cab more closer to the garage door. I wish I had more space. I got like 15 more cabs still in boxes. Maybe one day I’m going to move to a bigger house and have the space. Im saving them as I know arcade 1 up going to stop making them soon as it appears they are running out of new cabs cause they seam to be releasing the same cabs over and over in different form factors.
Would you ever sell any to switch to Deluxe or XL? I walked past so many at Walmart in 2019 too, I didn’t understand them back then if we only knew lol
@@PDX7 oh I already bought the 3 new xl cabs and probably during the summer I’m going to begin upgrading my Pac-Man. Mk2 and class of 81. My only issue is the xl cabs even though they are riser less and are same height as the riser cabs, to me being 6’ 4 they are still a bit short. I’ll going to have to buy some extension pieces and raise them up by 4 inches just like my regular riser cabs. The extension pieces I’ll have to put under the cabs as right now If you see in my video they are between the cab and riser.
I wish they would make these bigger, we’re the ones buying not kids. We shouldn’t have to raise these up. I’m a little worried about F&F being too low.
Nice to see the gun sound is loud in rolling thunder. My super Pac-Man partycade has terrible audio for a few games including rolling thunder. I can’t even play it with the silencer on

Well, it "WAS" a great cab, until it started not responding after a while. Leave it on for a few hours, come back, and controls froze up. Had to cold boot, after unplugging it. Happening with PacMania, too. Started happening after latest update. Anyone else seeing this? I opened a couple of tickets. Waiting.

It looks like it has the same input lag as the original Class of 81. You can even see it in your gameplay video at 9:57, especially if you play the video at a slow speed. It seems to take about 1/10th of a second for the ship to move after you move the joystick. The games are still playable, but the input lag is annoying.

The problem with this deluxe cabinet Ms Pac-Man Galaga is they don’t give you the original sound how it sounded like and everyone should know and Pac-Man Galaga allows you to continue after you lose all your lives and includes Pac-Man I own this arcade machine at home cause the arcade used to rule the world of video games I would shop for arcade machines over console games didn’t care if I had to pay $3,000 seeing these classic games getting ruined by weak consoles just bothered me I hope arcade 1 up releases the original version one day I’ll go and buy one
@@PDX7 it should be only for MS Pac-Man and Galaga Pac-Man the games that the original arcade machine came with arcade 1 up is just using the design but not making them playing the way they should be playing that’s why everyone’s better off buying the Pac-Man or Ms Pac-Man deluxe over the Ms Pac-Man Galaga cause your not getting what it came with
The only thing I had against Ms Pac-Man is it would be missing Galaga 88 and Rolling Thunder. I know Pac-Man Deluxe has them I just like the look of 81 better.

@@PDX7 no I found it you can change the speed I already did it all you got to do is go to the menu is automatically on here when you go and pick a Miss Pac-Man when you go to the top before you go to play it go to the settings right there to the left and then you can change the speed🎮🕹😀👍🏾
And you can change the speed on class of 81 Deluxe cuz we did it already on when you go to the menu where you pick all the games at where Miss Pac-Man is at all you got to do is go to the left right there to settings and then you'll see all the settings you can change the speed to fast 🤦🏾😂🤣
This cabinet is a close to perfection as possible for me from the game list, art work, and marquee. Great video Phil.

The could easily add hinges to that control panel so it can be lift up . Since its a once piece it's hard to access underneath now.

I have memories from around the 2000s, my dad would take us to Burger King and we would play Galaga and Mrs Pacman every time we went. My dad had the high score for that cabinet until BK went out of business lol

Being born in 1981 and a Galaga fan I couldnt pass up the og release. Already Szabos marquee and coin doored it. And could I get the Galaga 88 score i have again?! If I hadn't id get this. I dig the slant for sure.

Awesome looking cab. Very Jealous. Still no sign of these making their way OS (I'm in Sydney Australia). In the past, they'd be at least a preorder up by now if we were getting them, but so far, nothing. We've missed out on so many like KI, Blitz, MK 30TH, Star Wars, Tron, etc. It's a shame cause I had some funds earmarked for these Deluxe cabs but looks like I might go with my second option of getting a MVSX instead. I'll just appreciate yours from afar. Peace brother
Sorry to hear Ben, I hope A1up releases some of these Deluxe to Australia I remember MVC2 made it doesn’t make sense nothing since. Have you had any cabs 'fail' after the 90 day warranty runs out? Do you purchase the warranty with each cab?
Hey John, I’ve had a marquee go out on me that I had to purchase. I’ve never extended a warranty, but most cases you should be ok down the road and if something does happen parts are available.

That's my birth year. I'm sure the Ms.Pacman is the slow version, like always on these official machines. I have a half DK, half OG Pacman machine that is 9 years old.

I don’t mind scan lines not included as much as wanting 2 additional games. 14 is becoming the norm and we got 12 on 81. I’m happy with this cab, but that’s all I can really gripe about. Thank you for watching SavedByZero!

Those works be fun to play on an arcade! Bionic Commando has one of the best covers for nes. If you have a Gen 1 you could swap control deck with Intec that has a nes port for carts on it.
Are the control panels better on these lately, early ones the paint would rub off. Does this have a thin plexi layer to protect the paint, or some other means?

Excellent review! How tall do they “feel”? Do you use riser boosters on any of your other cabs and if so, do you feel like these need the same or are they just about right for someone your height? Thanks again for these incredible reviews filled with all the important details! My only negative would be that I wish they released the trinity of cabs all at the same time so that I knew I could upgrade my Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga cabs to the individual Deluxe versions but for now, I’ll just have to wait and hope that they do.
MK2 and 81 are a perfect height for me I’m 5’9 I think your ok 6’0 or under. Riser boosters come in for taller people. Stool or standing I’m comfortable on both. I’m hoping F&F monitor will be higher up like in T2, I raised RR up because screen felt too low. A trinity would be as cool as a Konami legacy, we’re running out of room lol! @thepuzzledmagician I’ve learned to live with their joysticks, but if you decide later it will be hard getting underneath inside the cab to change it out. This model is connected to monitor so it’s a pain trying to get inside the back of cab on that angle.

I know I do too, my Golden Tee is in the back living room and every time I look at it I think it’s a real arcade, Shaq Jam is same size but doesn’t resemble a real arcade like GT. Deluxe cabs do, but they’re going to be smaller height, screen and marquee. It could be 2 years before we see XL on some of these, I think there’s going to be mixtures in arcades. I’m hooked on the deluxe right now, just think about it these will be available for a while. Thank you for watching Stephen!

Thank you DC, it depends what cabinet colors you prefer and games list. Class of 81 is the only deluxe cab with 12 games, everything else has 14. Pac will have pac man games and class will have Ms pac man games. Both having all of the Galaga’s and Rolling Thunder. If I was to make a decision today I’d go with Galaga Deluxe over both, because the 14 games over 12 and it’s the pac man games plus it looks really cool. Whichever you decide wait for a 399 sale later this year :)

I did have a question; you were peeling the protective plastic sheet off of the marquee? Do you have to put that on/in the marquee itself?
I accidentally left that scene out of video, so right before you sandwich the 2 sides you drop the marquee in the slot. So the only downside is if you for some reason decided to change it out, the entire side has to come off. Thank you for watching Andy, if you sell yours it should get 3/4 the cost for Deluxe.

It bothers me a bit that the blue on the bottom of the mspacman side is darker than the top half. You need to lower the exposure on your cancers when you move further away from the light source. Lowering exposure let’s you take a shot of the marquee from across the room and it’s perfectly visible.

@uno3863 I’m very happy with my Class of 81, I haven’t changed anything with mine keeping it stock. The only thing is the volume with this cab and PacMan is very high even at volume 1 it’s loud. Just take your time putting together and have plenty of light. Please let me know what you think and if you run into anything I’ll be around :)

10:40 the original class of 81 (20 year reunion, which is the first aka original) only had ms pac man and Galaga. You could also play pacman only if you moved the joystick in a sequence of directions on the insert coin screen.

Only full size. I started collecting in the early 2000’s. The only ones I have left right now is the reunion, donkey Kong, Ms pac man, Mario bros (regular body), track and field cocktail and a neo geo 4 slot.

This is a great cab. I like that it features two great, iconic cabinets in one. I played the original Class of 81 in an arcade about 15 years ago. Glad A1up released this. I'm enjoying mine, but I do need a volume attenuator, as it's a bit too loud. LOL. I wish I had enough to pick up the Pac Man version of the Deluxe edition as well as this one. Thanks for sharing this. :)
The speakers are an improvement, even at 1 it’s loud enough to hear. I think this is one of the best looking A1up cabs next to Star Wars / Dragons Lair, it’s the main reason I went with this over Pac-Man but pac is good too. @@PDX7 I may have a problem with my volume, because on 1, my neighbors can hear it, and came over to ask me to turn it down. LOL So, getting the attenuator. But, yeah, it really is the closest they've come to a realistic cab, in miniature, by far. They're really finally bringing it. Happy easter to you, as well. :)

Looks like quite a bit of delay happening between when you move the joystick and finally seeing the ship move on Galaga.
I’ve never noticed before is it really that laggy?
Just watch the video where it shows Galaga and movement of the joystick and see how long it takes for the ship to move in relation it. Feels like almost half a second to me but I didn’t time it.

So I'm not the only one. I have the Pac-Man Deluxe cab. Different games I know... But yep, there does seem to be something off. Also a little skippy on the frame rate. Not my imagination. My gen 1 Galaga plays better.
I am still deciding between this and the pacman deluxe cabinet, this one looks better but pacman has the better games

It's so funny with all the cabs I got, the ugly marquee from arcade 1 up never bothered me. The only times I upgrades was to turn a non lit marquee into lit ones like the original cabs had back in 2018-2019. I upgraded the sticks, the springs, and even raised most of mine about 3-4 inches but the marquees I left alone.
They don’t look bad it’s just on camera they do not show up good, funny thing is I’ve never changed sticks or springs :) where are you going to put Star Wars?
@@PDX7 ahh you remembered my friend. I actually have it sitting in my living room for now. We are still enjoying it. I missed out on the original release back in early 1 up days. Looking back I remember I walked by the display at Walmart and they were selling Star Wars for 200 clearance and I just walked by as I wasn’t into collecting them like I am now. Now I paid 599 lol. Although I do like the lit up coin doors but a 400 price increase hmmm. I figure once we are done enjoying Star Wars im going to probably make some room with my main cabs as I think I can squeeze one more if I just move my fridge next to my t2 cab more closer to the garage door. I wish I had more space. I got like 15 more cabs still in boxes. Maybe one day I’m going to move to a bigger house and have the space. Im saving them as I know arcade 1 up going to stop making them soon as it appears they are running out of new cabs cause they seam to be releasing the same cabs over and over in different form factors.
Would you ever sell any to switch to Deluxe or XL? I walked past so many at Walmart in 2019 too, I didn’t understand them back then if we only knew lol
@@PDX7 oh I already bought the 3 new xl cabs and probably during the summer I’m going to begin upgrading my Pac-Man. Mk2 and class of 81. My only issue is the xl cabs even though they are riser less and are same height as the riser cabs, to me being 6’ 4 they are still a bit short. I’ll going to have to buy some extension pieces and raise them up by 4 inches just like my regular riser cabs. The extension pieces I’ll have to put under the cabs as right now If you see in my video they are between the cab and riser.
I wish they would make these bigger, we’re the ones buying not kids. We shouldn’t have to raise these up. I’m a little worried about F&F being too low.
I wonder if there is some plastic overlay that would make your screen have fake scanline look?

Nice to see the gun sound is loud in rolling thunder. My super Pac-Man partycade has terrible audio for a few games including rolling thunder. I can’t even play it with the silencer on
That’s a bummer, are those speakers on the bottom front or underneath? The speakers are great on class of 82, but still very loud at volume 1. People have been complaining about the audio being too loud, I just keep it at 1 when I play :)

Well, it "WAS" a great cab, until it started not responding after a while. Leave it on for a few hours, come back, and controls froze up. Had to cold boot, after unplugging it. Happening with PacMania, too. Started happening after latest update. Anyone else seeing this? I opened a couple of tickets. Waiting.
Sorry to hear Thomas, hopefully their next firmware will correct this freezing up because this doesn’t happen with other cabinets.

I am too, selling a few cabs to make room for Deluxe. Unfortunately we might not get what we want on our used cabs, but space is valuable.
It looks like it has the same input lag as the original Class of 81. You can even see it in your gameplay video at 9:57, especially if you play the video at a slow speed. It seems to take about 1/10th of a second for the ship to move after you move the joystick. The games are still playable, but the input lag is annoying.

I wish they would have 2 versions. A Ms. PAC - MAN and a Galaga. That 2 on one is a big NO for me. It just gives me a cheap feel
I get it, I wasn’t interested in just a Ms Pac-man without having Galaga games and Rolling Thunder. Even though Pac-man Deluxe has those games I liked the look of this cab better. Fomo set in at Best Buy and I gave in :)
The problem with this deluxe cabinet Ms Pac-Man Galaga is they don’t give you the original sound how it sounded like and everyone should know and Pac-Man Galaga allows you to continue after you lose all your lives and includes Pac-Man I own this arcade machine at home cause the arcade used to rule the world of video games I would shop for arcade machines over console games didn’t care if I had to pay $3,000 seeing these classic games getting ruined by weak consoles just bothered me I hope arcade 1 up releases the original version one day I’ll go and buy one
I think you can change the continue options in settings, it works for Galaga 88. Do you have any A1up at home?
@@PDX7 it should be only for MS Pac-Man and Galaga Pac-Man the games that the original arcade machine came with arcade 1 up is just using the design but not making them playing the way they should be playing that’s why everyone’s better off buying the Pac-Man or Ms Pac-Man deluxe over the Ms Pac-Man Galaga cause your not getting what it came with
The only thing I had against Ms Pac-Man is it would be missing Galaga 88 and Rolling Thunder. I know Pac-Man Deluxe has them I just like the look of 81 better.

@@PDX7 no I found it you can change the speed I already did it all you got to do is go to the menu is automatically on here when you go and pick a Miss Pac-Man when you go to the top before you go to play it go to the settings right there to the left and then you can change the speed🎮🕹😀👍🏾
And you can change the speed on class of 81 Deluxe cuz we did it already on when you go to the menu where you pick all the games at where Miss Pac-Man is at all you got to do is go to the left right there to settings and then you'll see all the settings you can change the speed to fast 🤦🏾😂🤣
