One other point, is to ignore the traditional elevator “etiquette” of everyone standing facing the doors. Turn inward so you can keep eyes on everyone onboard. If you feel awkward, or feel like you are making awkward for others, just keep your head down (unless you get threat cues from someone specific), and just watch hips/feet. Most attacks will happen with the hips starting to move, and it keeps you from creeping people out by watching more toward their shoulders/head.
