I've never been to a live training session with anyone in Coach Blauer's organisation but I used to own his Be Your Own Bodyguard on VHS set and can say from experience that what I've learned from it has worked for me.
Tony discovered and developed a system of defense, based on a number of scientific principles and pure intelligence, that no human has discovered or invented before in history. It is so ingenious that its beautiful! Changed my life as a personal defense instructor.
i give the guy props. my background is muay thai and bjj. they are good, but they are still ring sports. he takes whatever he feels is effective and adapts it to survival situations, which require a different mindset. it's what krav maga, close quarters combat, etc., are all about. it's not rocket science, but you still have to do your homework. tony did, and shares his info fairly freely, it seems. a true martial artist. my hat goes off to him.
Tony is awesome. We have been doing this in aikido for decades but Tony has refined it and expanded it for street defence. I think it is Brilliant what Tony is doing. As an aikidoka it refreshingly reassuring to see something developing that we in aikido can easily adapt to because it is very close to what we do.min short so effective is Tony's system it goes to give much needed credence to aikido. Just look at basic aikido stance extended arm splayed fingers. We have been doing this since dot
MY FAVORITE AND MOST CREATIVE FIGHTING COACH,, WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME,, DON,T BELIEVE HIS CRITICS THERE JUST JEALOUS,, THE TRADITIONAL GUYS JUST HAVE NOT CAUGHT UP YET,,IN 20 YR THEY MIGHT, LEARN EVERYTHING HE TEACHES YOU,,HE IS A LEADER IN THE INDUSTRY,,
Jason Jackal That must be why it's the only standardised system recommended to police in the UK by the Association of Chief Police Officers. I dislike how all these videos come across as sales pitches as much as the next guy, but there's some stuff worth taking on-board in there. What's your martial background anyway?
if don't follow up with something to hurt the enemy someone is bound to get hurt. such technique is good but hesitates. the enemy who has execute a right punch and blocked by blauer the enemy right hand can yank down the blocked arm and follow through with the same punch or the enemy left hand can remove blauer right arm up and ducking under the arm by placing his right shoulder under blauer right armpit and the enemy complets the huge.
the enemy can step in with the left leg foward follow dropping down the punch (in a circle manner) and up to remove aside blauer right arm for the enemy to complete a choke. but all that I analyze here just another hesitations. and that what happen when we base an art on too much techniques.
Don't even need to go that far, just a level change is good enough to beat this nonsense or side step and play a mean joke pinning his hand to his hip whilst you punch him from the other side lol
His top defense is very good but he is open to kicks to the groin and stops, he should have follow ups and escapes. It is a reflex defensive system, but why stop there, teach to finish or escape.
He does go into the aftermath & continues the fight to the finish in other classes. This is just the PDR class which is to be introduced to beginners & novice fighters. Here he is giving people instruction on what to do in that jack in the box moment or ambush. SPEAR / PDR is a bridge to your next move.
This class is like 1,500 dollars to get in, not worth it, I became an instructor in krav maga instead. His Spear concept has run it's time. He knows it, that's why he has introduced crossfit self defense which is showing he is desperate to make money and be relevant.
"Why don't Blauer ever use black men as training partners?" This could ironically have been an objection before. See where am I getting at? :) If you don't know Blauer, then every view will be a guess. We see what we want to see. The black person did a wonderful job actually. Better then most. He gave realistic energy, body language, sounds and so on. I struggle for people to understand the importance of this. A RBSD-teacher cannot teach well in seminars without good helpers like him.
Who goes for a headlock from their opponent’s erect position? Head grab/head control maybe. Edit: Oh I get it. Same old MA demos and straw-man arguments.
This guy is a joke if u want to learn how to defend yourself learn Brazilian jui jitzu this wouldn't work against someone bigger than u or someone who is trained in a martial art i want to see this guy fight a trained martial artist or someone bigger than him

Tony is definitely onto something. Very good stuff.

I learned this in karate and I was able to stop my 5’7 instructor when I was only 5’1 and like 90 pounds :)

Are you paid to say that or you are just so clueless about fighting?
You are perfectly right Edward!
I lost it when he was describing a shitty pull up, and he did a pull up with better form than any crossfitter. lol
mr blauer. I'm wondering if your teaching is base on a style or base on self-defense techniques ?
It's based on human physiology.
It's based on bullshit.

They are too stupid dude to figure this out, they think an attacker will just be immobilized by his arm frame
Golf clap for Mr.Blauer
will gritting my teeth make my muscles stronger like an open hand keeps my arm stronger?

This guy is a joke this stuff doesn't actually work. This guy couldn't fight someone bigger than him or someone who is trained in a martial art
