Looks like you handled MIQ with great finesse. Hoping you are settling in ok. Huge changes guys. Be gentle with yourselves. You will fit in well. Very respectful. Thanks for coming and nursing.
Saw you guys on ‘It’s a Drama’ with Liz and Brian and have subscribed to your channel. Can’t wait to see what you get up to and all the adventures you go on. Just be careful on our roads, it’s winter, so it can get really wet, plus they’re pretty narrow. Can’t wait to see your next vid. 😁👍🏼🇳🇿
Hey guys. Im a new subscriber. Im so shocked by the recent increase in migrants coming in from America lately. It doesnt sound like the U.S is a healthy place to live considering work conditions and healthcare being a few of the main downsides from what im hearing. So you'll love the laid back lifestyle in NZ...Especially if you love fresh food because its so easy to throw a few seeds in the ground and grow your own vegetables. Everything grows in the garden of Eden! Im looking forward to watching more of your videos and seeing my country through your eyes. Wishing you all the best with your new job and settling in to a whole new world 💜
Hi from Canterbury. I watched your interview with Liz and Brian and just subscribed to your channel. I'm really enjoying watching videos of people moving here and their thoughts and experiences. Best wishes for your new life here in NZ Whittakers chocolate is the best. They do have good dark chocolate in the large blocks.🙂 Hope you enjoyed that long drive down to Dunedin. Although I'm guessing there was a lot to see on the way.
just seen you two on the podcast with "It a Drama". It was cool to hear your guys story and hope you guys Enjoy Aotearoa (New Zealand). Nothing but love for you two and Goodluck.
Hello new Dunedinites, Its a Drama brought me here, you both look like you'll fit in really well, really enjoyed your podcast with Liz and Brian. I guess you're in Dunners already, hope you find a good house, there's a lot of draughty old Victorian era houses there. I grew up there but now live in the UK,do make the effort to go to Tunnel Beach, one of my favourite spots, also plenty of great lookouts around the city, really helps to get your bearings.
Thank you! Yes, we have made it to Dunners, hope to do a video update about it soon but life has been a bit busy since MIQ. Tunnel Beach is high on my list, once we settle in more I hope we can explore more. Dunners is a beautiful city and we already love it. We just rented a place that seems to be fairly warm with lots of sun, but once we move in we will know for sure. Fingers crossed!
Sorry hit the wrong button. Go when it's raining for all the waterfalls and a dry still clear day. Both will have you in awe. And be sure to give at least an extra hour to get there from Te Anau as you will not to stop at alot of places on the way. Take care and I'm sure you'll love it. Arohanui
Thanks for sharing!!! We are trying to get has much info about MIQ!!! Taking NZ5 flight next month (August 21) my wife and daughter are vegetarian. So this is good info. I guess it’s all about the question which hotel we will be doing MIQ!
Yeah unfortunately where you end up does play a big role, but my understanding is that New Zealand and the hotels for MIQ work with dietary restrictions pretty well. How exciting for you guys! Where are you moving to?
Kia Ora guys, you are most welcome here as you will soon find out I'm sure. You'll see penguins, seals, dolphins and the extremely rare Royal Albatross. Your close to the Catlins which is a beautiful area. Also Queenstown is not that far away either. Milford Sound which I'm sure you'll visit should be viewed ,
Thank you for the warm welcome! So much exploring to do! Once we get settled in more we hope to start taking trips, I am very eager to see the Albatross and little blue penguins. Milford sound is also high on the list, Brian has been and says its one of the most beautiful places he has ever been.
@@ZoomiesAbroad yep Milford sound is the jewel in the crown. The drive to Milford sound from Te anau is as good as Milford sound itself which is actually a fiord. But take your insect repellant as the sandflies over there are on steroids
@@ZoomiesAbroad you'll learn about sandflies pretty quick lol. When they get you it will be extremely itchy but resist the urge to scratch and the itch will go way. If you scratch the bites it seems to intensify the itch. Springs on its way your going to love it here. Take care guys
So I guess you're out of MIQ by now; I hope that you're enjoying Dunedin. Visit the railway station if you haven't done so already; lovely bit of Flemish architecture in a very unlikely place! I'll be visiting Dunedin at the end of the month; will probably bump into you (because that's what happens here) and I hope it's OK if I say "Hello."
Yes, we have made it to Dunners, and visited the railway station during the Farmers Market. There is lots of lovely architecture around the city. Drop us a line when you get into town!
Hello guys, New sub. here and loving your videos… In the future I would love to hear you guys talking about the work environment there in NZ. I’m asking because I heard you say you’re a nurse. I’m a very non-traditional medical student here in the US and my goal is to finish MS and residency here and then move to NZ. Could you please talk about the culture in the hospitals there? Thank you!
Definitely! That is actually a video I want to do once I have worked for a month or two in the hospital. I have only just completed my first week, so I can say that so far there is a lot more support, and we actually get our breaks. You will need two years of nursing experience before you can get licensed here, just FYI.
@@ZoomiesAbroad That’s great! Can’t wait to watch it. Yes, I researched a little about healthcare professions and I saw that some need 3 to 5 years of experience, but I don’t think doctors need prior experience if they already completed their residency in their home country. I won’t leave the US until I finish medical school and residency.. My husband and I are super excited. He’s got 3 cousins that live in NZ.
@@patriciayoung8956 good point! I actually have no idea about doctors but since they are in high demand there is a good chance no experience is required. I hope school and residency go well and that you stay safe!! Best of luck moving here
Go an meet the kea gang they stole a Scottish tourist wallet an went to McDonald’s drive in an called the gang come lunch is on me 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊they even distroyed the cops car the tourist went to cancel his card but was Too late 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A Bernie fan yay!
If you're weird, you might like the village of Waitati, North of Dunedin. Full of my weird friends.
