The Tilton River has been in my backyard for my entire life, yet this is the first time I've explored the waters. I found a section of the river away from private property and surrounded by old growth forest. Just a short drive from Morton Washington up the river valley, the fly fishing adventure did not disappoint!! Love it when trout HAMMER the fly on top!!!

A guy I work with grew up in Morton. He relayed a story his Grandmother told him. They would take pitch forks down to the Tilton to get their Steelhead when the runs were in. My wife and I love the Tilton.
That's nuts - the pitch fork method of fishing, no wonder they are all gone!

I can't believe this. The Tilton is known to be low and warm in the summer. I have driven by it 100 times and if you look it up, it is not good news. Planted, early fishing. So, the cutthroat may be Sea Runs and the rainbow nice planters?

I'm a mile and a half from the mouth of the Tilton. I fished it once. Nothing. But I was having seriou reel issues. Fixed that. I'll go back. Great vid Dan.
