    Am I the only when that gets super stoked when I cross a bridge and see a new river for the first time?

    I love watching your videos and you have inspired me to finally start documenting my own adventures as well. I live in Randle, WA and spend my days fishing, backpacking, paddling, camping, you name it. My friends and family have been telling me for years to document all of these amazing adventures and I truly don’t know why I haven’t. We live in one of the absolute most beautiful places in the world. I have to pinch myself every day because I cannot believe where I live. I grew up around spin rods and am newer to fly fishing and have gained some useful info from you. Much appreciated. Fish on!

      Thank you Tom - I appreciate your kind words. Exactly why I started the channel just over a year ago. Crazy and sometimes negative times these days - I wanted to spread a little positivity. Cheers!

      Thank you! It certainly was - nothing like a river flowing through an old growth forest.

    Nice vid. I'm guessing those are young landlocked steelhead landlocked by the dams placed years ago. Good size to them, but unless you can catch a 10 - 12 inch or more rainbow that has that exact appearance, then I'm sticking with baby (Steelhead) rainbows. Juvenile Rainbow have parr marks on their sides in Western WA and OR. Once mature, the parr marks disappear. On the east side of the Cascades, a mature Redband Trout - subspecies of Rainbow retain parr marks in adulthood. Loved the river up there in GPNF.

      Just saw this comment pop up! Sorry for not responding - thank you for taking the time to watch and for your thoughtful comments - I do appreciate that! Cheers!

    That comment was incorrect. I double checked - apparently some wild coastal Rainbow do maintain parr marks into adulthood. Looks like fun up there. Perhaps I'll make the 90 minute drive some Summer day and give it a try. Thanks!

    Hey there Dan...dig your videos! Was actually trying to head up to north fork lewis this weekend...any suggestions? I don't have much luck fishing anything other than drys for some reason. ...lol...Also, which area is fly only?

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anthony Grijalva awesome and thank you! The section above Swift Reservoir is fly fishing only. Dries should be the ticket this time of year - good luck!
