    I rented this car on Turo, I’m hooked. I’ll be picking mine up in a few days. Personally, I like running it in full regen, one pedal mode - I find that super precise for me. But if you like it in level 0, I guess that’s why they made it adjustable (unlike Tesla), we can all be happy. By the way, the regen doesn’t always restart in level 1, it will stick in level 1, 2, or 3. I wish it would stick in one pedal, but it’s just a quick flick of the paddle whenever you switch into drive. This car is so fast, smooth and quiet it’s like a magic carpet. So fun.

    Great comprehensive review. Thanks. Had mine two years now almost to the day and still love it. The ergonomics and interior plushness are fantastic.
    Over the ionic 5 and EV6 are:- Noise cancellation for a super quiet interior, doubled glazed glass all-round for further noise isolation, the click wheel controller, the logo puddle lights, the modernised UI of the infotainment system, the B&O stereo option, the crystal sphere gear shift, the suede-like and Nappa leather interior options, the powered front seat bolsters, the two way closing panoramic sunblind, keyless/phoneless entry via face recognition, over the EV6 reclining rear seats- I’m sure I’ve missed some but not an inconsiderate list.
    If buying for the long term that 800V architecture and full OTA updates function makes the extra cash for the extra comfort a worthy consideration.

    Excellent review. Design is personal, but for me, this design inside and out is outstanding. A perfect blend of performance and elegance. Also on the performance trim, you get the VGS (virtual gear shift) option. If you get nostalgic for the ICE shifting experience (unlikely, but maybe just for fun), then switch to VGS mode and the regen paddle shifters turn into gear shifters. Is it necessary? Definitely not. Is it fun to play with? Yep.

      Hybrids are the worst of both worlds

    • @Antiguan_Dart
      @Antiguan_Dart 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Given you can get a 300 miles + EV ( my petrol Mazda Rx8 had a range of 275 miles) which will charge 10-80% in 18 minutes the only reason I can see for getting a hybrid is if you don’t have home charging!- some zero tail-pipe emission motoring is better than non for air quality and the climate.
      Hybrids are missing the point BEVs are part of the solution for improving local, national and global air quality even if you don’t agree with the climate change argument. I think Hybrids are being sold as the best of both worlds when they are far from it. Yes less expensive than the equivalent full BEV, yes slightly better fuel economy than the equivalent ICE. But if one of your objections is the charging problem with a BEV which may have a 77kWh battery how much more frequently and how much more inconvenient is it going to be to have to charge a hybrid battery which is probably a quarter of the size and doesn’t support really rapid DC charging!
      A hybrid is all the complication with none of the benefits; Fully BEV have lower service and maintenance costs, if home charging lower fuelling costs (with 10 000 mile a year motoring easily £1000 a year cheaper in fuelling than ICE), in the UK at least no road tax currently, no restriction on city centre ultra Low emission zone nor ULEZ fees and in London no congestion charge.
      With over 32,300 public charging sites (61,000 individual chargers) in the UK compared to 8,353 petrol stations the difficulty of road trip charging as an objection issue is a mute argument now.

    I would say this is an ok car, but according to Naveen and his associates, a luxury car mustn’t be based on a cheaper platform to qualify this as a luxury car. Finally after the anti Lexus following crapping on the LX, Crown, Crown Sport, RX, and Century SUV for simply existing on the same platform as Toyota vehicles although they are obviously more luxurious, I can say that according to their reasoning, this Genesis is a POS!

      That’s the key difference. The ioniq5 ev6 are already RWD and drive and perform better so the gv60 being a nicer version of that already exceptionally performing ev is a good thing

    • @mrgurulittle7000
      @mrgurulittle7000 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@naveenthemachine No, it’s not a good car. Being based on a Hyundai platform screams cheap. Luxury buyer don’t care about RWD. All they care about is the platform not being a cheap platform, which the GV60 is. For them, the GV60 is just another Hyundai. Disappointing that Genesis lost their integrity by using a cheap Hyundai platform. “Badge doesn’t mean luxury.”

      @@naveenthemachineYeah, the A Class and 1 series. Sorry, but luxury doesn’t equal performance. You’re mixed up, especially when you act as though you represent the whole “luxury consumer” demographic by criticizing the dumbest things about Lexus like sharing platforms with Toyota. Well, here we have Hyundai doing the same thing; copying others like they always do. It may be RWD, but that’s irrelevant to the fact that it uses a cheapo Hyundai platform, making it a cheap car. When did you stop calling the Century, RX, Signia, Crown, etc cheap Toyotas although I explained they might use the same platform but they have AWD which is actually a luxury feature? Exactly! You just insisted it was cheap because of the stupid fact that it used the same developed platforms as Toyota. Well here we are again, except the tables are turned.
