What if I want to neutralize a color only in part? For example, I lift the hair to a red/orange colour, I want to tone them to obtain a warm chocolate with a slight red undertone. Should I use blue-green anyway?

HA probabaly not lol. my hair was medium brown and i’ve bleached it twice and it’s still dark orange. if you wanted to highlight it you would probably need like 5 bleached and an amazing toner

Can I still use toner on my hair even after I’ve used a dark blonde dye, it is still really coppery but not as bright orange as it was with just the bleach.

6 months ago my hairdresser did a subtle balayage that came out caramel color which I loved. This time she suggested going up since my hair had grown and I asked if she could do an ashy blonde color but instead it came so dark and she even said “I think I overtoned it”which she tried to convince me it would eventually wash out.. she had another client coming so she didn’t have time to correct it. I’m not happy And wish I hadn’t scheduled the appointment in the first place. Thanks to your video I now understand what went wrong…😕any suggestions on how to lighten it at home or at least get rid of some green I see in some areas?
If she used a Demi-permanent color (meaning it’s not temporary, but it’s not permanent) it would’ve been mixed with developer, usually 10 volume or less so that it’s only depositing color but will eventually fade. There’s a treatment from the brand Malibu C and it’s a clarifying treatment specifically made to get toner out and all the buildup on the strands. You can find it on Amazon. Once you clarify you can assess where your color is at from there and see if you need to do anything after

I wanted to go from box dye / adore black to light bright , bleached it to bring the black out it turned hints of ash green , I’ve also stripped the color using colourb4, should I put in a red rinse before applying the brown dye it’s a brown dye similar to your brown ?

They always say I have to buy $250 worth of product to get one for free I even offered to pay for a book but they said REDKEN stopped making them for just for sell. I would say maybe try looking online somewhere!

Hi If someone is a natural level 3 base and want to add some dimension, if they lift their hair with Lightner to a level 5/6 can they then add a level 5 toner? Or do they have to lift their hair to level 9/10 first? Or do you just need to lift to the level you want to tone to? Thank you
It's well explained but i have a question. So i was light brown naturally with gold undertones when I was in my early twenties..then i started coloring my hair the last time i saw my natural color a few years ago it was a very ashy dirty blonde my skin pale with red undertones but my veins blue and purple which is cool...right...so then what is my best fit? 🤣 wow im so complicated. I was red for few years i loved it but now im a process in a changes and im not sure what color i like on me. Any suggestions? I do not want to go darker then a lever 7
Can you please explain how to remove unwanted toner? I’m a cosmetology student and I toned my client waaaay too dark and she hated it. It basically went back to a brown from a blonde balayage 😔
Rianna S aww! So sorry! So there are a couple ways of removing a toner that you just applied. You can do a bleach wash with shampoo and bleach that should take it away make sure not to leave it on too long. Also I recommend from matrix they sell these little clear color packets, You just mix them with hot water and put it on the hair and it removes the toner! you just mix them with hot water and put it on the hair and it removes the toner! I always keep a couple in my studio just in case if something goes wrong. You can get them at your local State beauty supply or Cosmo prof. :)

What toner do you use? My hair is like level 2 so i always get warmth and orange. I really want a cooler tone instead.
Try getting like Ash ? 2A or 2AA
