Indians are really good in science and numbers yet none of thier local smartphone survive. Indian market are occupied by Chinese or americans electronic or software products. Most of the IT companies in india provides services and software products to american companies. So it's more or less a backup service for silicon valleys. India is still centuries behind their chinese and americans compatriots in my opinion as a tech savvy person? Despite india produce tons of engineers and doctors or programmers the policies they have could not attract the investor's around the world . So the next silicon valley will be china not india in near future.
This is an EXCELLENT video, well done. I'd bet $1000 that India is gonna outpace China and America. The main point in this video is the 25 or so hubs that teach students technology. America is busy fighting over things like abortion and gun rights every year, India is just doing their work, rather quietly but aggressive. India is the future, America is a dying powerhouse.

Truly amazing. India went from nothing to this in only a few years. Most of its neighbors, especially Pakistan, still concentrate on war, religion extremists, and destruction. But here it is India coming up and becoming a rich and developed nation all from intelligence, engineering, and ideas. As an Israeli, I simply love India. Israel also is a very entrepreneurial country, that needs to rely on intelligence to survive (doesn't have natural resources). Also here Computer Science is one of the top, cause it allows to put ideas into practice with just a laptop. India is Israel's brother, from Israel we really respect you!

Ever heard of Japan, South Korea and China? When did they start? Study history dude! India needs more freedom and opportunities. Only few lucky people in India are able to leverage their talent in the way these Bengaluru techies do, which is certainly impressive, but unfortunately, only possible for the elitists of the society most of the times. The vast majority of India continues to suffer. Look at India's condition in research. It's pathetic! India is way behind China, Japan, South Korea, and most western countries in Research and Innovation. The funny things is, it's nearly impossible to find a reliable source of nutritional information on Indian vegetables, and that a lot of(perhaps majority of) Indians despise hugs, and even if they don't, they'll frown at it. VICE News has done a great job at broadening it's audience. It's a great business strategy! After all, India has 1Billion+ people, and nearly 35% population uses the internet if I am not wrong. :)

I'm in Silicon Valley, literally Ebay/Paypal and Google etc all a bike ride away, and all the friggin' time companies get caught bringing in Indian workers and putting them in dormatories, and paying them the same $20/day they get in India. Free dorm living and free vegetarian Indian food, so they get to see the USA a bit during the half-day a week they're free, and get to save up some money. It's all illegal as hell of course, and occasionally someone forgets to pay a bribe and they get busted and it makes the news.

As much as I love our desi immigrants, I am glad to hear some of the intellectual capital is staying home to bring innovation to India and increase GDP. It used to be that almost everyone would emigrate as soon as they could.

I went to engineering school with a ton of Indian international students. Bar none, easily the brightest and most hardworking group. Their capstone projects were INSANE! Glad to hear big things happening in India and can't wait to visit one day!

India has so many people, that they will also effectively have many bright and highly educated people. However, you'll hear very little about Indian scientists, and if you do, most of them will be US or UK based. Many Indians want to go to University and study some sciences, especially Informatics, but they won't go into research and development. To them, their degree is just a key to get a job. That job could just be opening up a tech support, or making dumb apps. They could do so much more, but most of them are just in it for the money.

When you said that these brilliant kids nolonger dream of moving to USA after graduating, it made me very happy.
USA has shown the world that it's not interested in globalization, it's now everyone for themselves. Nations need to wake up to this fact and start developing their talent and build their economies from national resources ( human, natural, capital, etc)

what is best in India is that you don't have to export talent from other countries, It has its own talent which is the best in the world.
I feel it's less becoming silicon valley and more like becoming to tech what China is to manufacturing, we provide the 'labour' to American and other international tech owners. It's not a bad thing per se... But we just don't have the infrastructure and the conditions to build massive tech companies like Americans do or even Chinese do these days.
Actually the use of Special Economic zone in China would work perfectly. Essentially you let companies do whatever they want for a small fee and tons of people get paid. That said most of the actual "labor" in Computer Science is done by the employees of a company and the contractors normally are tasked with things like bug fixes.
Also, I could see India becoming a "Tech hub" like China is a manufacturing hub"
@@KRYMauL I'm Indian and I don't see it.... We have underlying problems with our education and infrastructure that'll make it very hard to become to tech what China is to manufacturing.
I mean there'll be pockets of high value tech companies here and there, but that's not enough jobs or increase in GDP to become a hub.
@@jujijiju6929 I mean IT call and data centers are the back bone of tech, so all they would need is to invest in data center architecture.
The problem with tech though is it's very skill based, so it wouldn't allow for as many jobs as a good factory. If anything India might be able to become the Silicon Valley of IT, but that would only account for one city just like Shenzen.
Main issue is funding , a company cannot launch its ipo until it follows many guidelines, I'm a retail investor and would like to risk some of my capital in some promising startups but I can't due to laws, it's my money who tf is govt to tell it's risky, as financial literacy increases here it'll automatically become a startup hub

Im an American and Indians are probably the smartest group in America. Seriously, I’ve never met a dumb Indian. The shop owners do well for themselves, many of them are doctors, professors, IT, etc. Never hear of Indians breaking the law or anything. There’s a lot of knowledge and talent amongst Indians, their people and nation have so much potential.
