A look at one example of the 7.62x39 AIA M10A1 . Shooting footage to follow . These use an action which is a copy of a No4Mk1* Lee Enfield Action in many aspects.
They did come in in small numbers. TriStar was the importer. I had one, a beautifully finished 7.62x39 that wouldn't feed from the original magazine. Bolt over rode the top round every time. Returned it to Tri Star and actually had to file suit in Kansas City before they would refund the 600.00 odd dollar cost. Should have kept it, probably worth a couple grand now here in the U.S. I really liked it but not as a single shot. I still have the scope mount and one of the two original magazines.
Actually, if I remember correctly, TriStar took over the line from the original importer. May have been a company called Sabre Defense? Anyway, they got stuck with a number of the defective rifles. During one phone conversation the TriStar rep mentioned they " had a dozen of them sitting in the closet".
@@lifewithabe312 best of luck in your search. Mine was used and did not come with a scope rail. It has excellent irons, but I'd like to see what it does with a 1-6x and some good ammo.
a chunk of these AIA rifles made their way into Canada. They weren't a huge success but they do have a small fanbase here. You see them come up on the used market from time to time. Interesting pieces.
Not sure how reliable these are but I wished more of these were made/imported to the USA. This seems like a pretty good rifle, havent shot it and have heard of mag problems however
I’ve only got one so can’t comment across all of the rifles they made , but I’ve had no issues at all and my friend has one similar to mine with no issues . There was a website in Canada or the USA where a bloke was proclaiming all sorts of issues and representing himself as an expert speaking against the rifles at every opportunity, however he also never touched or saw one in person so how would he know :
I would imagine the AIA rifle is a modernized .303 #4MK? The 2moa with junk ammo is a blessing especiallywithAK mags. It is to bad the critters in Washington were frightened enough to outlaw the rifle. I probably would have bought one.
More or less a No4Mk2 style action , however with a lot of changes and not much compatibility. I’m glad people think that ammo is junk keeps it cheaper for me 👍
This sounds like a very interesting rifle. The sound quality, or rather volume of the video is so low that it is almost inaudible. I've noticed that some topics seem to be turned down, maybe be the tube of you's. Just thought I'd say something.
Great looking rifle I'd like to one but here in the US that might be impossible the Lee Enfield design and the7.62×39 is good all around cartridge too a person can do more with it than the 556 round although I've use the 222 version on many different sized game animals I'd be happy with the762 added to my gun safe
Probably would not have sold well in the US. We already have quite a few domestic 7.62X39 bolt guns plus European imports. Not to mention, all the semiautomatic 7.62X39s we have. Of course, price is everything. If it was inexpensive, it may have sold. 🤠
Probably true. Maybe the novelty of it being based on a Lee Enfield design might have helped it sell to some people . But I know I’d rather an SKS / SKK or AK variant
I've actually been interested in getting myself one of these. Seen a few pop up in the past & like the look of them but never really found a decent honest review. Now will definitely try add one to the collection.
Thanks for watching, yep i had the same experience. found a lot of negatively biased reviews by people who had never owned or used one. Not sure on some of the motivations but i guess some view the Lee Enfield design as something that cant be used unless its a military surplus rifle. @@krakentacticaledc
A common misconception that these were built from surplus rifles or parts, but as we know, they were built from all new made parts with limited parts compatibility to actual Lee Enfield rifles
@@servicerifleshooter No worries, Ed from Fhuck Outdoors had a mild rant and told us you were a well told short story. Remember legends are usually dead. Do you have a contact email address?
Hi mate. Great video, recently bought one of these. However, the front sight had been removed from the front sight base. Any idea if AIA can still be contacted for any replacement parts?
Hey mate, thanks for watching , is that the one that was at Adelaide GS? looked nice if so... nah i dont think they are operating at all anymore even for that sort of thing. A gunsmith should be able to adapt any other front sight to fit i reckon, if they are decent.
I am genuinely interested in buying this rifle, if it is for sale. Ive been looking for one of these for my collection. This is absolutely a serious inquiry. Please contact me if it possible. Otherwise... Beautiful example. If you still have your contact... I really, really want one.
@@JohnDoe-in2gk they weren’t cheap but for a new start up they weren’t overboard either . Main issue was they couldn’t get into the US market as they used parts sourced from Vietnam such as the stocks
@@JohnDoe-in2gk I really don’t remember but I’ll see what I can find , I might have an old catalogue saved somewhere. I had a conversation with the owner of AIA as i sold him an Elcan M145 , he said part of their business model was to be more of prestigious made to order company and he specifically compared Morgan motor vehicles . In my opinion, that’s a flawed business model in so many ways in this industry . I think the USA thing is a bit of an excuse as the wood could have been produced in Australia or elsewhere if that was the only problem.

I like the rifle, the caliber, the action and ability to mount an optic.
Would’ve been cool to have these in the USA

Somewhere between 800 and 1200 made it to the US. Gander mtn was the main retailer. I picked one up in 2010 and they’re fantastic shooters.

It's amazing to see what Enfield lovers' countries make out of that rifle !

🇦🇺😎👍PPU 7.62 x39 123 grn sp works well in my Howa Mini Action. The cheapest steel case works well and is quite accurate ….Great calibre😉✌
New to the channel, was just sent over by FHuCK Outdoors, definitely not disappointed so far 👍🏻
Thanks for coming mate, glad you liked it, hopefully more to come, FHuCK's a legend
same!
Ive been trying forever to get Ruger to make a Gunsite scout chambered in 7.62x39, which uses AK magazines
That would be awesome
