this jam is serious as fuck. I've been present for a good deal of the renowned 3.0+ jams, and this is easily one of the best I've ever seen in person. Something about the way live phish mixes these uploads/sbds tho just completely sucks all the energy out. They keep the mix really really clean, but I always have to dirty it up a bit myself lol. The last few mins of this jam might sound good in this vid, but IRL it was some of the grimiest shit I've ever fuckin heard. Hartford wave of hope the next night is nearly as good as this one for me too. Awesome weekend we just got. Best fuckin band.
That's why a good AUD or a SBD/AUD matrix is the best for jams like this...and really all jams. The compression for the soundboard mix takes a lot of the low end out.

I’ve never seen them before this year and I’m going to my sixth and seventh show in Jones beach tomorrow and the next day. I was scared to see them because I didn’t think they would measure up to the fish I listen to growing up but God damn are they playing so good.
I'm going to Aug 3rd and they've already played so many if the songs Ive been hoping to see this tour. There's nothing left :'( I'm sure they will still amazing me and my gf. We've been together for 6 years but this is her first phish show. I brought her to TAB a couple years ago and she loved it. She's never really been into this kind of music but she's super excited to go now. I told her I kind of wanted to bless someone with our tickets because we really can't afford to go but she is adamant to going because she really wants to. So I'm really hope they blow her mind! We'll be at pine knob next week dte energy the 3rd. if anyone wants to meet up and make a new phriend!

Man, did I pick the right week to drive from Tennessee to see a band at Woodstock! It'll always be Woodstock to me- i mean the first one took place 1 hill over, so. And my Dad, who's from Buffalo, went to the '69 one and that makes me jealous. So I see as much Phish as I can to match his concertness. But hearing BUFFALO Bill for my first time, and Fire with the Anthem, after a show with this fucking swooning wondrous nebulous on Neptune stack of grooves SYSF, I was so blown away with nostalgic, Woodstockian satisfaction for driving up. Greatest band from Earth.
Somebody said this before me and now I'm finding it easier to understand that is was true when I was watching it happen at the concert. This is the one of the best Jams/improv's I have seen in years...many many! I have been sober for almost 2 years now and while I was watching this live I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing. Reached pure extacy. This is genius. I have been going to Phish concerts since 97 and after this show I bragged to friends that this jam is in my top 3 Jams of all time I have seen in my Phish experience. This jam was mind blowing!
Go to more shows.... they will blow your mind more often. ;)

Nice to hear some Talkings Heads make an appearance and the jam is one of the more interesting ones this tour- quite refreshing!
Jon's snare sound is so good. It's punchy and airy, yet still manages to somehow have that slight wetness to it that makes it easy to record.
Oh right and the jam was a fucking road trip. Many places visited. Nothing better.
