      Have you seen the new Doordash feature where it says pay per time or pay per order? I was in another state and saw it there. When I got home it was gone. Seemed like it was a test run being done in some locations. I don't know if you did a video on it already. My acceptance rate is same as yours, in the 20's. I got up to 38%, but then it decreased again. My Uber Eats though is at 57&. I am trying to get it to the 60's or even 70's. Just a goal

      What happens if everyone just ignored all the small orders and cherry picked only the good ones? Not asking in a confrontational way, I'm just wondering if that's what they may be struggling with. They may be dealing with a lot of orders not getting delivered or delivered late after sitting for a long time. 🤷

  • @mikebowman2981

    Cherry picking is an unfortunate and inaccurate description of an independent contractor accepting only those orders that are profitable. Considering that gas in my market is at 4.09 per gallon any order less than 1.00 per mile is at best jyst breaking even. No dasher is in any way obligated to accept unproductive offers. If that bothers those that disrespect my time with lame tips than they can get off their lazy cheap asses and get their own food.

      People just want their food. They will never give a rating unless they’re unhappy.
      Service workers know that people are disgusting and hateful. You want to destroy your customer rating? Take a bunch of no tip orders.

      Exactly. They need to be sued because if we're independent contractors or subcontractors then we shouldn't have to accept offers that we don't want to accept and we shouldn't be punished or penalized for not accepting offers and wanting to strategize and do what's best for ourselves. If your placing huge high paying orders like that, even now you are going to get a dasher that has high stats "priority support" and fast delivery times. • @vikings7683
      @vikings7683 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaraElizabethYT Customer always gets priority if they call themselves, For drivers VIP support only means you will be able to understand the support agent (no heavy accent) . lol
      DD right now, usually only gives LOP (large order program) orders to drivers with high completion rates (CR 95% and up) and high customer ratings (4.7 and over.) . So customer right now gets a driver that will commit to an order and most likely will not cancel if there is an issue. I am one of those LOP drivers and I make good money doing it.
      It used to be you could only get LOP by being invited to the program. With the new tier system anybody that meets the platinum requirement's will automatically be eligible for LOP/catering orders, which may actually affect me. Right now my stats would qualify me for platinum (4.97, 82% AR 99% CR and 98% on time early), but the more drivers that achieve platinum the less LOP orders there may be for any given driver. In my area with my stats I have gone from making $20 to $25 an hr cherry picking ,to making $35 to $50 an hr with my high AR/CR. Best was $127 in about 45 mins, for just one order.

I find myself not able to schedule any shifts. The times I been able to get on is during the weekends when it's busy but they are letting me an hour at a time which is ridiculous. Its like passive aggressive punishment that you can't Dash because your not taking the garbage orders and get "locked" out unless you raise your acceptance rate to qualify. I've noticed the same thing with UberEats orders. It seems like if you don't take no tip orders or a higher mileage order then they will not send you the good pay orders. You would have to wait for over 30 min. for a decent order. I noticed when you do take a bad order then right after you will get a good order. Then the cycle continues also if you decline multiple bad orders then you will be sitting in your car from 25 min. - 30 min. waiting for a good job. Cherry picking has died for my market in New Orleans.

    I'm making way much less these days because all the offers are a dollar to a mile at best and if I'm lucky I may get $1.50 per mile. The so-called 'high paying orders' are the $4.75 going 1.8 miles. I kick them all back. I think I'll sign up for instacart.

  • @Snerdles
    @Snerdles ปีที่แล้ว

    I did an AR reset at the beginning of June, and that comes with 14 days of forced top priority for these so called "high pay" orders. I still struggled to even maintain 50% AR to keep the diamond zone orders. There are so many orders in my area that are just barely acceptable for just the drive, but go so far away from zone or even any merchants the return miles make the order conete trash.
    What's even better, my area has legislated taxi fares so the ride starts at 5 bucks and gets 1.65 a mile. I don't get the 5 bucks and am averaging basically at 1 dollar a mile. I even drive a PHEV so mu forst 30 miles only cost like 3 cents a mile for propulsion and I'm still barely making money.
    If this comes out in my area I think my only option would be to drop doordash.

    my area just recently had the earn by time hourly rate raised from 11 dollars to 16 dollars an hour. seeing this i decided to try earn by time for the first time, first hour was fantastic made 43 dollars in an hour and 5 or 10 minutes. then it went to hell after my first 4 orders i got nothing but no tipper after no tipper for the rest of the day. in total i took 14 orders and 4 had tips. yes i got 10 no tippers in a row. so today im like maybe it was a fluke so i started out earn by time again first order had a tip second and third both were no tips so i ended my dash and went to earn by order. oh and 1 of the orders i did yesterday was for 10.3 miles i was freaking furious. i do not think i will be doing earn by time again unless they raise it to 20 an hour because they bombarding me with no tippers is a no for me. btw my AR is 68%

    Been dashing now for about a full year. In my 2k deliveries, im sitting with a completion rate of 97%, acceptance of 77%, and a rating of 4.96. this sounds kinda stupid to me because im in a tad larger market i believe(Atlanta) and for me, the first time i got top dasher it cause issues in my app where i couldnt dash for a week and i had to get everything reset.
    Im a bit of a double edged sword because i primarily dash downtown, im used to seeing orders that are just about at that $1:mile combo. So I get my 100-130 per dash and keep going.
    While these programs sound great, they havent been consistent enough or programmed them right to allow for the people they want to take advantage of them to take advantage. With the way its trending, they are possibly going to start gating the larger orders entirely behind these walls and that will be what kills the app.
