You should start at your house and stop when you get home
Yes. Treat it as if your home is your office. When you leave your office you start tracking your miles.
Yeah and tbh... do NOT even pick it up if they ain't offering a tip. I use uber eats all the time and i only order if i'm tipping at least 18-20%. Those drivers need to make money and the price of gas is often waaaaaaaaaaay over looked by those greedy corporations. I feel so bad for these drivers.
dashing in the morning or between 3pm-5pm is absolutely pointless in my area. youll get orders but each order takes 45-60 mins to complete because of the traffic.
HUH? if you're starting at 7am, traffic is nonexistent xD yall wild
Killeen texas is a gold ✨️ mine when the army gets paid
I always start tracking at my house
I rarely try breakfast, but when I do, I regret it every single time.
Start mileage at home and end at home. The spot or closest business I drive to is 3 miles away. When doing your taxes, as a 1099, it has you break all that down, Commuting miles, business miles and total miles. It's a headache when you have to figure out commuting miles
pay a tax person to do it for you. a PRIVATE tax person. it's worth the 500 dollars. especially when they can get back ALL of your tax money for you. so instead of paying thousands in taxes, you only pay 500 dollars.
I track from the time I leave my house to the time I get back.
Thanks for this video. I have hardly done breakfast runs but didn’t notice anything special about them. I avoid Dunkin and very busy McDonald’s, where there are long waits for orders.
I start all the apps when I'm still at the house. I live about 3 miles from the closest hot zone. If I don't get any decent orders while I am still at home, there's no sense in even leaving the house.
I go out for breakfast and lunch, lunch I make more but when I add in the money from breakfast it adds up nicely. Everyday is different but some orders that come from restaurants that just specialize in breakfast have some real good tips on them. I track from home and until I get back home. Happy 4th! 🇺🇸🎉
I stay home on holidays. Just not worth going out..
I turn on the apps when at home, so I turn on my mileage tracker on while at home, too. Like you said, those are business miles.
I start tracking before I pull away from my house, and I stop tracking when I get to wherever I’m going after I’m done delivering. Sometimes that’s when I get home, but if I’m running errands or eating or shopping after delivering, I’ll stop tracking once I get to that place.
Your hair is so pretty like this! Nice to see someone else doing GH!
Thank you
I start the a doorDash at my house, but I also live near a lot of different restaurants. Sometimes I’ll start it in a shopping center but most of the time I started from my house.
Your tax guy is correct. You start counting mileage at your home (or wherever) when you get in the car to go work. Then you stop counting when you get home from working. Every one of those miles only happened because you were working.
Where it gets tricky is if you end your day and then use the car to do something personal. Say you finish your last delivery and then decide to go see a movie or meet friends. In my opinion, in that case you would stop counting miles where you dropped off the last delivery.
I start the a doorDash at my house, but I also live near a lot of different restaurants. Sometimes I’ll start it in a shopping center but most of the time I started from my house. also, my dad has his own computer tech business. He has contracts with different police departments and he charges $75 just to come out to the location just in case the problem is something is simple as hooking a cord back in.
I count every mile possible. I start at my house and end when I pull back in. Any effort I'm putting in to working like if I'm driving to another zone. It's counted towards work so I'm going to deduct it. We don't get paid enough out here. I'm going to take money back from the government anyway I can. Love from LA💜💛
I track when I leave the house and turn it off qhen I get home
I write my miles down turn app on! When finish I write down ending miles. I have notebook that I tally up miles by month and when I do my taxes that’s the miles I use!
Morning shift is a hard pass for me unless I have a scheduled catering order 😒
Total miles from start to end shift .
The way i do my math to know exact how much i make. Deduct
35 % = gas, repair, mileage, etc.
Happy Saturday! Your jewelry is pretty. Where do you purchase?
Thanks they're from Amazon www.amazon.com/shop/saraelizabeth/list/YMMI40091ZYO?ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_aipsflist_aipsfsaraelizabeth_XTX9RQ0JWJ1YGEC1Z6PW&language=en_US
Hey Lady , it's great to hear from ya' . I tell ya' , the Sonic up here is near my place so if they pulled that on me . I probably would've gone home . 1:37 , been experiencing days very similar . your tax guy is on the money with his advice . In an earlier life , my work carried me throughout the southeastern states so the mileage " per se " helped me greatly . As far as proof of my driving , I furnished gas receipts from different areas . I' might've been " long winded " here but " you did ask " . Y'all take care .
I keep a log on my phone. I start when I leave the house, end when I get home. All business miles. As long as you are documenting your mileage (keeping a log every day you work), you are good.
I have got 2 the point where if I come out early I only do Walmart spark ain't no point of turn dd or uber eats early lol
I track starting with first pick up to last drop off.
Yes track miles start at house end when you get back to the house even if you stop at store on the way home don't end miles tell you get home.
I do well with breakfasts in my market. It's like I am the only one out here most early mornings. Then, at 9 am, I hit a couple of CVS Pharmacy runs on Roadie.
You market is a lot better than mine lol
in my market in las vegas abreakfast runs are ass non existent unless you wanna deliver shit for 3 and 4 dollars
I track all miles from my home to the zone and back again.
Dordash it’s done. Now with the 3 status you are it counts very much. Impossible orders here in Chicago if you don’t multi app literally you screw and yes I’m start from home now 💪🏻💪🏻
Track it when you start your vehicle. We are IC, so every Mile is business miles. Stop tracking when you get home or you are heading home but need to stop somewhere else for something personal.
I start tracking the minute I drive away from my house.
Hi I see Uber it's paying less than door dash 😔 why Uber it's paying less
From home. I’m usually walking out for the first order but even if there’s a ride to a zone for some, and especially bc the app encourages people to not sit in one spot for too long… all miles during your “shift” should be counted imho.
When app goes on I start tracking. When app goes off I stop.
9:13 In my area, unless you like working midnight-5 am, DoorDash has nothing available, not even breakfast, not even lunch, not even dinner 🙁 I literally have to get up at midnight to TRY and get something decent and truly the best time to make money is at dinner, at least here in Denver metro anyway.
Irs defines it as the "purpose of the trip" that means to and from as well as changing areas to get orders. Think ice cream vans. All the random driving they do to sell ice cream. All for business.
Well it was a holiday
I avoid holidays now, even on the holidays where most places are open. It's always dead, and I figure it's because there's more driver competition out there from ppl being off work, AND more ppl are cooking at home with groceries delivered the day(s) before. Maybe better to experiment on a regular morning to see true results... fri-day or s-nday?
I did good on 4th of July. And about the gate code? I do get repeat order.
I've been out in the mornings. It can be a hit or miss. Meaning no orders are coming through. Otherwise there can be. Hard to tell when it is a hit or miss besides just going out & waiting. I can always schedule in the mornings whenever I want. Today I went out briefly for the morning. I wasn't getting anything between 6 and 7:30. I left to do some errands. When I came back online at 8:30, I started getting decent orders. I could only take 2 cuz I needed to go back home. I think if I stayed on longer there would have been more. Oh well!
6.5 year driver here for Ubereats, DD and GH. In my opinion it's not necessary to take a McDonald's order inside of a bag to the door and then take a picture of the bag with the order at the customer door. That was a $5 offer going to an apartment. You are not going to get a better tip for that. And you aren't going to get a bad rating from the customer for not doing it. One thing I've learned along the way on my 13,000 deliveries is never do more work than you have to if there isn't going to be any benefit.
Also you have the most beautiful eyes. Just thought I'd mention that 😀
Solo or everlance??
As a tax preparer I can say the IRS rules for mileage from your house to the first "job" and from the last job back to your house are excluded from business miles.
Ha! The IRS is going to follow you around to track your miles? Hell no! Be honest about your mileage (and make estimated tax payments) and the IRS will leave you alone
not if you open the app at home at your office with a business license at home.
Not if you have an order when you leave your house! 😂
My accountant will only take the miles my apps say I did . I disagree it should be miles from the minute I sign in till I sign out .
I would turn my miles on when I got to the city I was doing pools in then off when I left that city. The company paid per mile.
Your dashing in the wrong part of Florida. Dash in small areas get small payouts. Id be doing sarasota springs. You have to go to areas where alot of people walk and dont drive. Yeah its an hour and half away. But i travel and hour each day ti my zine and drive back
I end up with about 15k miles per year
It sucks in my area I have to go in the city to do anything lol it’s better their but not for breakfast tho
I don't use an app to track I start from home to back home
Saturated.. I turn on Uber eats food delivery is crickets, only rideshare going off turn on DoorDash crickets I forget it’s on and my AR is 50% that tier is garbage only thing is booming is spark and rideshare and I’m in Los Angeles
Not doing Sunday or Holidays
Hi Sara happy Saturday night to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter happy Weekend
It’s gotten worse in my area. 2 years ago I could make decent side money. But now it’s like you get 1 damn order an hour🤦🏽♂️And some of these orders are so terrible, bc the customer ordered far as hell(for some damn reason), and didn’t tip anything close to the mileage distance🤡or worse the customer didn’t tip at all, which is crazy bc that means there are fools out there ordering food online and expecting the grubhub apps BASE PAY to cover the gas to get to them🥴😵💫uhh what?? $2 base pay isn’t incentivizing ANY driver to leave their home or family or friends, just to wait for who knows how long on your order🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yeah, 50% of my lunch time orders come from Chick-fil-A. So yeah ouch.........yeah I have always from my house.
I noticed while editing that the front door was borded up so maybe it was only that location.
Mine was open just for lunch 10-4@@SaraElizabethYT
if you start at your house at your home office, its all a business expense including hydro, square footage, wifi, computer, everything is a tax deduction. Work clothes, cell phone and plans. Food , gas, insurance, wear and tare 35 cents per km. Interest on credit cards to run your business ...... the works. id say a new pair of shoes a month, and a few tops and bottoms, rain jacket , winter jacket, cleaning supplies, everything used to work as an independent contractor is a write off against your income at a % multiple phone lines for different apps, phones, a meal every 4 hours on the road. as long as its used for work, its a write off at a certain % Under the contractor contract it says we must be presentable, that means clean decent clothes. No gucci but levis and nike all day. 2 rain coats , 2 winter, 2 rain boots, 2 snow, 5 pairs of shoes thru the year, private hygene to stay clean and fresh for work, everything. Prescriptions to stay healthy for work, sunglasses to drive with less fatigue, prescription glasses to see the road, everything you use for work. Advil, tylenol, socks, underwear, if it its used for work its a write off.
Solo costs 😮
My IRS friend said it like this: Did your W2 pay you to get to work? No? If you use a tracker and you get audited...
Tisk tisk, busted
@@sarasue56 clearly your irs friend doesn’t know the difference between w2 and 1099 work lol
@@menards23able She does tax returns for agencies helping elderly and low income. Many doing gig work. I also use a tax attorney who follows the same procedure. So yeah, she knows what she's talking about.
@@sarasue56 well clearly they don’t know the difference between W2 and 1099 cause you can claim the miles from your home and back
@@menards23able I see, professionals know nothing but you do. Interesting 🤔 Hope you never get audited. There is an IRS person in this thread. Scroll through and read her comment.
@@sarasue56smh
Sara that's allnur going to be getting is low offers if u don't improve ur stats
Ubereats doesn't care about stats. Doordash does but some of us aren't going to allow these companies to force us to take bad orders in order to get good ones.
@@larryt510 then less money for you and uber eatsnisbstartingnto care about stats
I don't know how to track miles
The app does it for you
Home to home
Haven't watched ur videos in a while. You loom like you've lost some weight. Looking good
Yes I have, thank you!
It makes sence but you hate miles. Lower the miles the better no matter the pay. I will take a dollsr a mile or lower. Others won't.
Dd is for people that tell people they actually have a job. In reality these platforms are done. Only good for if you need weed money there you go.
I use Solo. House to House. You should not be paying any taxes on gig work. It’s a money losing gig on paper.
I can't see why this would be any difference than the miles of driving from home to a workplace, and isn't that tax deductible?
Yes unless it's driving to a W2. They don't get to claim anything
