I once failed my scholarship interview just because I have a dream to become a video game developer and one of the committee member in that interview just silenced me by saying why do you want to become a game developer when it causes children's to get adddicted and spoils them , I haven't had any answer back then, I didn't know what to say except I love to and I want to,but this video is actually what I wanted to express and answer at that time but sadly I couldn't
I run a guild in an MMO. We have guildies from all over the world. From Thailand, The Phillipines, Germany, The U.S., Tasmania, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Argentina, Vietnam, Australia, Brazil, China, Japan and Venezuela just to name some of the countries I've had the great pleasure to meet people from. I've found that almost everyone everywhere actually have far more in common than not. My favorite thing about that game (although a great game) is the chats and the love for the world we all share.
If it could be moderated, it would be wonderful. But such things on youtube most often fail because of trolls and a lack of civility. Not to mention spammers and hate groups. If youtube would at least take responsibility for these things to some extent, it would be far more possible to avoid such problems.
Gaming has gotten me through a lot of tough times. I know how that may sound to a lot of people, but when life throws so many inconsistencies and doubt, at times, games have made me feel like I have the ability to overcome and ultimately triumph; even when that’s the last thing I feel like I can do in real life.
See u can see the benefits of using these to teach students at different levels and with great improvement as kids prove to be excellent at solving puzzles when it comes to games. And I'm almost certain I'd be much more advanced in my knowledge if I'd had gaming based lessons rather than through the "normal" type of lessons. That said minecraft is one of the few games being used in basic teaching.
Excess is bad. I would say try to find balance in your life. When all this virus thing passes, go out and help charities, you can help in a local church where you notice good people, you could also do some courses about things you like, i imagine technology related stuffs like repairing or hardware/electronics. Seek things that deliver meaning to you. I passed through it and after some life experiences i noticed that meaning is the magic word. We are good people seeking for something new, something different. You could find inspiration with Eminem, he was an alcoholic and now he is back on track since 12 years. One day at a time, like they say.
Her talk is reminding me of the game Cart Life, where you play as a street vendor but their harsh personal lives are part of the gameplay and you must manage them as well as their business. It's meant to simulate people going through various hardships whilst maintaining a job.
I agree. Children have saved lives because a game taught them what to do if they're confronted by a bear. The military continually uses video games to train and simulate otherwise dangerous environments so that when they do go in those scenarios, they already have the muscle memory of what to do. Nurses are currently training in VR to avoid potentially giving the wrong medication to the wrong patient. Gamifying education set aside, plenty of current games have morality systems, address mental health issues, etc. Recently a lot more studios have taken the direction of getting mental health advice. Video Games, like any art form, can negatively impact just as easily as they can positively impact, through the designer's lack of knowledge, foresight, or just plain malevolent intent. But yes, the combination of play, increasingly advanced tech, and interdisciplinary collaboration is a powerful force for positive change.
If they actually get off the game and do something for the real world, then yes, yes they can. EDIT: And yes, I play video games, so this isn't meant to be an insult. It's just a genuine statement because some gamers stay glued to their screens 24/7.
Once I play NCSoft games...Obviously very true... Gaming is a creative art and this kind of project can be achieved with determinations, hardwork and skillful thoughts...so if they used this brain in building the nation then why not..it's obviously feasible
@@cosmicphoenix2006 look ? i have not cut my hair in 2 months, i have an anime profile picture, do i really look like someone who'll know what haircuts is and what not? but i appreciate your comment
Yeah I believe this! Virtual reality and gaming is a good way relieve stress and take a breather from the "real" world. Thank you to all the game developers of the world and also this video, Thanks 👍🔥
Personally I've heard better examples of how to integrate game development into the workforce or general education. Video games can be very time intensive and costly to make, so the ideas she presented are a hard sell when considering who might the buyers be, BUT her point is sound though. An example I've thought of would be a game like Civilization V where you basically manage recourses and implement national policy but integrate more real world dynamics up and down the scale... so a turn based strategy game where players choose a real world country with their existing infrastructure and are given a set amount of money to further develop.... Hard Mode would be to do all that, AND consider all the effects the players choices would have on environment, foreign policy, mental health, etc.
This was a bit of an odd one I think her intentions are noble it’s a bit goofy but over all the neat idea I wouldn’t be opposed to it but at least she was self aware 👍🏻😋
I won't agree ma'am.This video games won't make fitness to children it became mental stress basically outdoor playing activities makes strong & feel fitness ⚾🥎🏏🏑🏒⚽🏸🎾🏉🏈🏐🏀yu have to come outside play freedom👍👍👍👍👍
Playing League of Legends really make our lives better. I realized that: 16 players fuc*ed my died mother 7 players wish me die ...and others wish me cancer 🤦🏻♂️
Alan Watts I love playing video games and have done so since I was a kid. And if you think I haven’t achieved anything you’re wrong. I’m a dentist and a gamer, it’s all about balance.
Videogames are destroying my life... It's a drug.. But like any drug it depends on your resilience. For me it's the worst I have ever seen... But perhaps others can resist the urges.
I do not like Games that will just lead us to Mine Craft / Money Related, I like games that it will only required skills / Ability not just to mine but actually win clean not dirt, is so boring to have a game that will reward you because you Mine more money than the other player.
Make sense. Creating positive collaboration among players much offer peace in our world rather stress brought by the media. Amazing talk.

I love how you talk about taking a breath and coming down to relieve anxiety during gaming it helps a lot 💕💕💕

One more reason to like video game!! For many of us video game are truly amazing and useful!
Yo this concept isn't empowerment, this is straight up revolutionary!!!
This is a great talk. Game developers have to create better games for this to work
Dare I ask this, but please Livestream these discussions so the chat can interact with the talk and lead to more interesting discussion overall

And who said that video games waste time!? This girl is awesome!!
They don't know how gaming is so awesome! That's why they judge!
This is so interesting! I get what she means, I've seen games that simulate a persons perspective with physical challenges within the game.
This is why I prefer Indie games than AAA games. They are more unique and compelling.
League of Legends has ruined my life and I need help, but I'm enjoying my life.

Yes. It depends on designer's intention for how the game should be to their users.

Right? It’s super nice looking, tbh I’m really jealous
Straight facts!!!
Try a hack n slash or swordfighting style game with biofeedback and the experience of a meditation teacher? That would make for a fun game
Thank you for the great video! So inspiring 🥰. Play+Technology×Collaboration=Superpowers
FINALLY!!!!!!!
GAMERS!!!

She's mentioning game developers/designers. Not necessarily gamers although developers can still be gamers.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS has left the chat!
Does anybody have the link for the nevermind game
That's so true, my lady! Thanks

My superpower is my fight IQ from UFC undisputed 3
Video games make you OP.
Can confirm. Ever since I started playing Hitman, whenever I see someone I don’t, I just drop a chandelier on their head.
There are games about being homless which show how hard it is to sleep or go to the bathroom when homeless

She is beautiful.
The dislikes are from people who says:"video games waste your time"
*waste*
...or people that hate it when pink haired "gamer chicks" cram politics into games that used to be free of politics.

Brain games, keep learning , and having fun!
Popular video games are all about destroying something, unfortunately.
She clearly hasn’t played Grand Theft Auto..... but Call Of Duty idolizes the military experience....

Bro wii sports had this idea years ago.
Exactly but I think they approach it more in sports.
This time around will be more. We are in age of augmented reality.

How can this be possible if video games cause violence?
Finally a worthy video
What gaming can do is ensure you are not achieving anything , so others like me can have less competition playing the game of the real world
Alan Watts I love playing video games and have done so since I was a kid. And if you think I haven’t achieved anything you’re wrong. I’m a dentist and a gamer, it’s all about balance.
You know what helps in playing the game of "the real world"? Being open minded.
overgaming is bad even a child knows this and little bit gaming is good for your biology

or
