    The best review I've seen of this bag by far! You go really in depth about every feature and I love how enthusiastic you are about it! It's nice to see a review from someone who clearly cares so much about the product. Thanks for the shots of the inside too, it's something a lot of people tend to forget :)

      Thank you I appreciate it! I will have to do an update video after a whole school year with it. I was pretty green in terms of TH-cam in that video lol 😂

    Thanks for the vid. I've been carrying the Gamut 3.0 for the last 4 or 5 months, trying to love it. The damn thing just tips over...constantly. Just putting things in it is a chore. I'm at the point where if it doesn't stand on its own, I'm not interested. Bought this bag the other day and ...wow, what a gem. Why there are no reviewers reviewing this bag is beyond me. It's truly a hidden gem. Go BLUE!!

    Nice review. Thank you for the thoroughness. I have an Osprey Quasar that I've used as my EDC for about 9 years and it has held up just fine. I take it to work at my office, I take it on small hikes, and use it when in the community.

      Thank you I appreciate the comment. That is exactly why I made the switch. I also want a bag I can go on hikes with during my vacations. I am loving it so far after 6 months

    Thank you for this nice review ! I would like to use this backpack for work but also with my kid. Is it possible to fit a basketball in the main compartiment ? Thanks

      Good thing I am a P.E. teacher. A basketball will not fit in this bag. Its a deep compartment but it doesn't open up that wide. Basketball shoes will fit but not the actual basketball.

    Hey, a couple questions, both hydration bladder related:
    1. Does this bag have a port up top to feed the tube for a hydration bladder through.
    2. Do the shoulder straps have loops/straps through which to feed the tube through so it's not just flapping around? It looks like it might, but I can't tell if that's actually a loop or merely an accent in the construction.
    I have the Tropos 34 (previous generation, not current) and it has both of those features, and the Parsec is advertised along side the Tropos as 2 sizes of what seem to be essentially the same concept in a every day/commuter bag.
    Thanks.

      @MichiganDad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Apologies this completely gapped my mind when doing the video. Yes it does have a port up top for a hydration bladder to feed through. And it has one cross strap on the shoulder strap to keep it in place. It is the gray/black strap just above the sternum strap.

    Thank you for the extensive review, this backpack sure is interesting!
    The focus on guns is a bit jarring to hear at first, but that has more to do with the fact that school shootings are very rare in Europe so I'm not used to worrying about that kind of violence...😮

      Yea my bad I did this one a while back … my channel is a gun channel which I should have kept out of the review now that I’m looking back at it lol
      I’m glad you got something out of it. My plan is to do an update video here soon. 👍

    I wish this bag had better internal pockets/pouches for smaller things. I'd happily take a half-pound of additional weight for better organization like zip pouches along the inner wall of the main compartment. Had to go back to my Vertx Gamut 1.0. It's a shame because the Airspeed back system and kickstand are wonderful.

    • @MichiganDad
      @MichiganDad  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@vincepaperclip7874 I agree but I’ll take the lightweight over that. The only issue I have with this is the admin pocket. It simply cannot hold pens, pencils, flashlights anything without it falling out into the bottom of the bag. As a teacher that’s important to me. Thanks for sharing 👍

    Is that mesh backing worth buying the back for? Unsure if it’s worth getting this over a Mystery Ranch Catalyst.

    • @MichiganDad
      @MichiganDad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For me the mesh backing and the kickstand was well worth the purchase … and it doubles as a hiking bag for me bc of how light it is

  • @Continental_EDC

    Man i couldnt agree more. The vertx bags are awesome but so heavy. I have a sling bag with the ballistic panel in it and its so heavy before i even carried it i decided it probably wasn't for me.
    I ordered the parsec so hopefully this works. Thanks for the video

      You will love it. I have zero regrets on it, even with the big price tag. It suited me for my job even if it doesn’t have a ballistic panel.

      @@MichiganDadCurious about what a vertex bag is and go for a search as I’m in a country that no firearms are legal. But curious about the weight you are considering, as the parsec is 26l but I saw a random vertex bag on my search that is 28l and also 1.9 lb. Not the main reason but I’m just curious. I’m considering between ospreys parsec and the quasar!

    • @MichiganDad
      @MichiganDad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wilsonlamlyt7138 A vertx bag is a concealed carry bag that makes off body carry a bit easier than a standard bag. They are very durable and made with extra thick material making them a big heavier than traditional bags. They are also designed for ballistic panels. The Parsec is way lighter and more ergonomic. If you want an incredibly durable bag then the vertx is definitely the way to go. But if weight is a concern then the Parsec is great. I prefer the Parsec. During my research the Parsec had what I was looking for which was a good laptop and documents section in the main compartment.

    Thanks for the review, your video showcased every detail of the backpack. Osprey Parsec uses a metal frame to help it stand upright on its own. I was wondering, does the metal frame press into your back or waist when you're wearing the backpack? Also, does the part of the backpack that rests on your waist feel uncomfortable or cause any pressure points? Thanks!

    • @MichiganDad

    Does the kick stand frame get annoying for regular edc? Seems like it would be felt while carrying or be cumbersome on a daily use if not using it a lot?
