    The standing option and the mesh thing at the back is what I like on this bag which is why im leaning towards getting this instead of the north face one

    You are presenting this as mainly hiking/outdoor pack, Yet Osprey has it as a everyday/commute and it belongs into their 24/7 line. That's why it has the dedicated laptop pocket and why it lacks massive hip belt.

    • @orbispictus6127
      @orbispictus6127 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      yeah but if it's a edc commute bag then I dont see why there's a hydration port on top of laptop compartment.

    • @carnivorewitch
      @carnivorewitch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@orbispictus6127 theres a hydration port in a lot of EDC packs it doesn't mean it's necessarily for hiking. I'm looking for a hybrid pack that I can take traveling with my laptop but can also transition to a hiking pack and 2-3 day trips. This one fits the bill for my use case.

    • @carnivorewitch
      @carnivorewitch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think he's presenting it as a hiking outdoor pack, he said it's a bit overkill for edc.

    I like the compression strap placement. it's an added security against sticky fingers when traveling

    The basic concept seems similar to my Osprey Stratos 34, but this one has the 'standing' function, which I'm digging...

    Thanks for great review. Thinking for everyday usage between Tropos and Parsec 26. Are you planing to make review of Osprey Parsec 26? Thanks in advance

    The kickstand is the single most important feature to me. Even as an edc. Any chance you can make a comparison with the 2023 tropos 32 model?

    Do you think this pack is good as a carry on underneath the seat of a plane?

  • @DoReMeaCulpa
    @DoReMeaCulpa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think it bears pointing out that the tropos is actually designed to fit men. The women's version is called the Talia. The frame has what they call a kickstand, which is what allows it to stand up reliably. Also, you can use the laptop compartment to carry a packing sleeve, then just carry a tablet or 10 inch computer in the tablet sleeve. (Which is what I did when I travelled with it. It is true that the kickstand makes it awkward and bulky at times. Lastly, I did not find the main compartment to be especially roomy, due to the separate laptop compartment using up a lot of room, and the suspension system also intruding into the bag.

    Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the frame inside ? I'd like to wash it but it doesn't fit in my washing machine...

    Osprey Escapist 32 vs Osprey Tropos?

  • @gogo-fz1hm
    @gogo-fz1hm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello!
    I want to know the depth of the main compartment.
    First of all, the bag specifications of this Tropos are as follows:
    53H X 34W X 27D CM
    I want to put some clothes pouches in the main compartment.
    The specifications of this pouch are as follows:
    19.5Hx30Wx20D CM
    20D is the most important requirement Can it be put in the main storage?
    It is possible according to the specifications.
    Except for the main storage,there are two front compartments and a laptop compartment at the back. I think the depth of each storage is set to some extent. Therefore, the depth of the main storage is not really wide.
    If you don't mind, can you tell me the maximum depth you can put in the main compartment?

    The small pocket in the laptop compartment is actually meant for a tablet.

    Is there a loop to hold up the hydration bladder in the laptop compartment? Or would it just slide down?

    will the bladder hole not allow water in if your laptop is inside that pocket?

    The compression strap wouldn't get in the way if Osprey just added double sliders to each zipper. Then, you could just keep them at the top of the bag (in the middle of the zipper), and you wouldn't need to undo the straps every time. It's weird that Osprey would not think about such a simple solution...

    • @barryn1673
      @barryn1673 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bag is mainly presented as an urban Backpack, so I think the compression straps are there for added security

    I'm a similar build to Riley Becks (featured wearing the pack) and I'm curious how the shoulder straps fit her. Did they sit high on the neck or stay on the shoulders? Did the pack feel like a good fit, or would she recommend a womens specific pack?

    • @shaunbecker5890
      @shaunbecker5890 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Considering you're still waiting on a response from Pack Hackers, I thought I'd try and help... I was looking at this pack for my daughter who carries a mountain of school material home everyday. She's Riley's height as well and the pack just seemed a little too big for her torso - the shoulder straps don't curve around her for a proper fit. It's something she could probably live with since she's never known better, but the Osprey Radial is the direction we're likely going in. The newer version of the Radial (26L, expandable to 34L) has an adjustable strap system to allow for better fit. I hope Osprey trickles that system out to other bags in the coming years. Hope this helps. :)

    I had one chance that ai can try an osprey bqg when I was abroad. What is the technology behind standing by its own. How can they manage to do that? Is it shape of bag or what? Also very front pocket seems like it is not secure for pick pocketting. Which made me think twice about this bag. And can I hide the straps on the top like the nabula does. Iam in between nebula and this backpack can't decide

      Hey Zer, this pack isn't waterproof, but it has some light weather resistance. So, if you get caught in the rain, this bag will be just fine in some light, sprinkling weather.

    Vertical zipped front pocket is the most stupid thing I have ever seen in a backpack in the last 40 years. It looks like their designers have never used backpacks. Unbelievable!

      its probably for access for when slinging it to one side on one shoulder to quickly grab something. When in that orientation, it is horizontal. there is also a horizontal opening at the top so I personally find it more versatile.
