    I got this Nebula to replace my old Parsec. The interior water-resistant PUR liner failed in the 2nd section, and I didn't take advantage of the ultimate warranty and bought TNF Recon hated it. Did the warranty exchange and got a new Parsec, for free, not impressed. Kickstand internal frame not flexible to kick under the seat or stuff in the overhead. Bought this new Nebula 32L and love it. This pack is exactly the same as the OLD Parsec 32L with more/better materials. It weighs 6 oz more than the old Parsec (and recycled materials) but 8 oz less than TNF Recon. The zipper issues encountered are because of the zipper cover overlap. This back has zipper overhangs for water resistance that TNF Recon does not. ATV in Puerto Rica rain forest exposed that deficiency of TNF Recon.

      Wow, I can imagine a rain forect would stress test anything. We have lots of rain here but not at that level. It's more light but constant. Thanks for the heads up and comment. It should help others with similar usage 🤙

    Fantastic review! Very thorough, comprehensive and at the same time, simple. It's the little things others don't think of; like hanging the bag from a biner so that it's not constantly flapping about while you exhibit.... brilliant. The bag looks almost identical to the Tropos 32 except for the back panel. Osprey key clip is extremely easy to unclip the keys from. Alternatively, you could clip a retractor to the clip and then attach your keys to that. Great review, thank you!

      Glad it was helpful! Yes I think the Tropos and Nebula are one and the same just with that different back panel

    I got the yellow model for $100 on Amazon to go with the black/Tunnel vision gray Farpoint 40 to cover all my daily commuting and future travel needs for the foreseeable future. I also got the 40 at a deep discount through REI, so i got both packs for $240 total, and ths Nebula will connect/attach nicely on the Farpoint 40. Can't wait to go camping and do other travel with the fam

    I have a version of the Nebula that is about 2-3 generations before this one and for the life of me I can't understand why the admin pocket only had ONE zipper! I've never owned any brand of backpacks that have had this but for some reason Osprey decided do try it. I don't know why, considering the Nebula I had before the "redesign" had two zippers for the admin section. Overall I think it's the best bag on the market hands down and they stand behind their warranty (I wore one of my old Nebula's out - they sent me a replacement).

  • @groberti
    @groberti 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Very nice video! I have both the Nebula and the TNF Recon and I actually prefer the Recon. Somehow the material on the Nebula feels cheaper, not as rugged. I don't like that you have all those flaps and compression straps in the way of the zipper plus the straps and back panel on the Recon are, imho, light years head of the Nebula. The Nebula basically just has a flat back panel which is, for me at least, not comfortable at all + the straps are very thing and dig into my shoulders. These last 2 things were the biggest disappointment for me in the Nebula. The Recon has a very comfortable and well padded back panel + very good, thick straps.

      hey man, which year's TNF Recon do you have? Is it the latest redesign?

  •  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Very nice but I have already one backpack like that, a backpack you've done a review, same price range, so so same volume and I am happy with it using it since 1 year now.
    As you mentionned ... the North Face Borealis :)
    For me Borealis is one little step up he backpack presented here for one 'essential' reason (for me), the elastic cords outside if you want to 'store' a pullover, a k-way, ... and have direct and fast access to it

      Just pulled the trigger on this, and I have also got the Osprey Daylite 26+6. What I will say, is that if you are travelling straight from airport to hotel with the Daylight, then it's great, but it's no good for extended walks as it has no breathable back system especially when packed. First ever negative review I have for an Osprey pack.

    What is your opinion about Osprey Tropos 32 ?
    Do you think it is better than Nebula for EDC or travel?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, from what I remember the Tropos and Nebula are very similar bags. The Tropos has that air frame back panel to help with increased circulation of air. If you're travelling somewhere hot then that extra circulation will help. In my experience they don't stop you from sweating however they definitely help to keep the sweat away from your bag. The only downside if they don't have an much flex in them. If you're moving your bag around a lot with travelling it's harder to fit them in confined spaces. If you get a chance to find one in a store, it's always too to have hands on

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think so! I'm assuming just commute with maybe a laptop and change of clothes so there's plenty of room for your stuff. The materials are reasonably light so they'll be less friction whilst running too. I guess it depends on things like a laptop if you're carrying one. A smaller laptop might jossle around in there. Osprey also make the Quasar which is similar however it's a 26ltr pack which will help to reduce weight

  • @andriyurenov7215
    @andriyurenov7215 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Is it waterproof somewhat?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes definitely. The material has a DWR coating so water beads off it in a light to medium rain. It'll definitely keep your stuff dry for a commute or run from your car to the office, or even whilst out walking. It won't be 100 waterproof in a heavy rain. It doesn't have taped seems or aqua-guard zips. Hope that helps 🤙
