Warcraft felt like its own thing back then. Yes, it took inspiration from a lot of pop culture back then but it did something unique with it, and told its own story.
Shadowlands on the other hand, is just some weird fanfic mashup of Endgame, The Eternals, and controversial pop culture mishaps such as Star Wars ST, GoT S8, and TLOU2.
We have an exact Thanos, we have an exact Eternals creation machine, we have an exact "Revenge isn't good" narrative, and purposefully subverted expectations

I'm surprised that the video mentioned the word "Cleft" without one of the most obvious examples from TBC: Nethercleft and Nethercobra Leg Armor. Clefts and cobras in the nethers... How was that not slashed?

They changed Wirts leg, Wirt has been around longer then these devs, Wirt is a blizz OG NPC. Let him be yo. He was taken from his mothers arms and tortured by demons, they severed his leg.!
I'm going to explain for anyone who doesn't understand the reference. The original Diablo game came out in 1997. Wirt was a character who could be found just outside the town of Tristram, the game's main base area. He would charge you 100 gold just to see what item he had, and if you wanted it you could buy it; it was Diablo's first method of gambling since it's all about random items. Everyone hated him because of his greed.
At one part in Diablo 2 you were able to go back to the now ransacked town of Tristram. Outside of town in his normal spot you could find Wirt's corpse, and when you clicked on him and removed his wooden leg, gold would come spewing out, a reference to all the gold he swindled from you in the first game. This was the first instance of the item "Wirt's Leg." Sometime later, Warcraft III I believe, you could look the item "Wirt's Other Leg" and later in WoW "Wirt's Third Leg." The second and third items are pure silliness, nothing more, and changing them is the current dev team thinking they're better than the dev team in the 90s.
@@shawntraub7249 There is also a wirt's leg item in Hellgate London as an not-so-secret easter egg, as it was made by some of the same devs (ie. David Brevik) who've worked on Diablo 1/2 before going on to make Flagship Studio and other things later on.

The problem is that a "third leg" is a slang term for a very large penis.
It's entirely possible there was no ill intention since it was literally the third instance of Wirt's leg, but Blizzard likely wasn't leaving anything to chance when they went on their stupid censorship crusade.

Basically, them trying to change anything was a waste of time. I remember my wife and I used to see all these little details. It was intricately in the DNA of the game, and even FFXIV does it, but you don't see them worrying about it. Blizz trying to save face is so stupid.

Harrison Jones got replaced in my garrison for some reason, just not in achievement text.
I remember an npc in Spires of Arak, Warlords of Draenor. I looked her up to make sure I remembered her correctly. It's because I barely remember her and her dialogue. Lady Claudia, Brigadier-General stationed at Admiral Taylor's Garrison. They're all dead btw. Her quest involved collecting canon balls and a canon I think. Or maybe just canon balls. Either way, when you talk to her, she says something along the lines of a dick joke. Like "Don't talk to me unless you have the balls." Or "That better be a canon there." Or something to that effect. I honestly can't remember her exact words. Just that it was one of the few adult quips that I ever noticed. It was hilarious as all balls.
