So the LITENING II Podcast keeps gen 2 thermals on the gripen, but on the F16C it gets gen 1? Gaijin fcked up again

@@jacoproita9010 All LITENING IIs irl are worse than war thunder gen 1. LITENING ER/AT is roughly gen 2 in WT. AV-8B+ should have the G4, which would get Gen 3s.

11:30 this looked like either a stickey key, you accidentaly holding a or a in-game sticky key causing you to roll over
it was quite ovious that the plane was leaning left
The lvl 10 f-4s the second they spawn in:
it's a bug, if you say something in chat it has a chance of stickiing the key you typed first. i.e. if I say "what" in chat it might hold W in game after sending said chat msg
Sometimes if u hold down a button and alt-tab, it will think that button is pressed until pressed again in the game
Now if only we could get the WWII vehicles for the Hungarian air sub tree, at least Mike & Oxy did say that they would be coming in the future.

Back when the update dropped i was having the same glitch where no matter what plane/tank i used it kept rolling/driving to the right (instead of left in your case) only way i could fix it was by resetting the game..... W gaijin
And ive been having fuel glitches with the addition of the custom fuel slider so thats fun
Yes that lag spike at the air spawn seems to be a bug, it happens to me sometimes as well depending on the map

I don't know if many players are aware of this, but if you lock an aircraft with your targeting pod, it gives you the lead indicator for guns without giving any alert to the other guy. The lock won't break if he drops flares chaffs or is notching
Doesn't work with all planes that have targeting pods. The F-14B can do that, and also the mirage 2000-5F, but I don't know any others that do. Maybe the Gripen? But in that plane you don't need that anyway.
@@thombrick all the really modern NATO jets that I tried can do this. It works with the grippen, the mirage 4000, 2000-5, the f16C. It's even deadlier with stealth belts

How effective these new ones are is probably why they only get to take one per slot compared to the early mavericks with 3 per slot…balance issue
Nah, the reason is much more stupid than that.
Irl the LAU-88 rack that mounted 3 mavericks withdrawed from service and replaced with LAU-117 that can only carry 1 Maverick each. So most aircraft carry heavy mavericks only carry 1 of them.

The G’s seem worse on the stat card, would you say they’re the best variant as of right now? I have the F-16C and have both the G’s and D’s but I haven’t used the G’s yet
@@christopherchartier3017The G's are definitely better. When the mavericks first came out they used to be really good because they could overpressure vehicles, but gaijin disabled the overpressure for them so they now only do damage through the heat jet. Since the new ones do HE damage they can overpressure tanks which makes them one shot almost every time. You can see the difference if you use protection analysis and select the different mavericks from the f16 and test them against tanks.
@@KMark43 I think you can only take two G’s on the F16C vs Six D’s, so I’m trying to figure out a decent loadout
@@christopherchartier3017 Yeah that's true, on the harrier you can only take 4 D's so I never considered the tradeoff. I think with the D's you'll obviously have 4 more chances to get kills, but the G's eliminate 90% of the rng element associated with them. Like Justin said in the video, the D's might only one shot 40% of the time, and going in for another pass increases your exposure to spaa and anti-cas planes. So I guess which is more suitable depends on the current conditions in a particular match.
The British Harrier Gr.7 also got the AGM-65G's and MAW, pretty funny
Speaking of Hungary; they have Leo 2A7s and Pz 2000 tanks too, and I don't know why they didn't added those to boost the Italian top line (besides not getting a lineup). Also there are some German planes in the game with permanent or optional Hungarian camo (not just in the Italian tree, like the Fw-190), so why the sub-tree starts with the Yak-9? + its missing some jets too!
I was about to jokingly say that Japan should receive the Gripen just as a reference to Girly Airforce, but I just remembered that Thailand is a Gripen operator

whats weird is seeing the Blast frag warhead not have 223mm pen, and the AT Heat warheads not have 4000mm pen like its suppose to instead of having 800mm pen or w/e crap thunder thinks it has.

I think you made a typo. The AGM Heat should have 1300-1500 mm of penetration not 4500 mm. Also they should overpressure better than how they're now.
@@Kwisssim talking about the AGM-65s not hellfires. it was a small typo, i ment to say 4000 not 4500.
But Mavericks are NOT comparable to normal ATGMs, i dont think you fully realize how stupid huge or powerful these things are. Their upgrades over the years have all been engine and guidance/seeker related, with the exception of the blast frag warhead variants which are designed to be used aginst non armored/alternate targets.
Hellfires are only 1300mm pen irl.. The AGM 65s with the heat warheads are ballpark 4000mm, that is NOT a typo.
the warhead alone on those is a 57kg heat warhead.
A hellfire missile for comparison has a 9kg warhead with 1300mm pen. The WHOLE missile, body/warhead/ motor/ and guidance section "the whole thing", is only 45-49kg depending on variant.
The Mavericks Heat warhead alone is 57kg.
It is a comically over powered missile that is disgustingly overkill for anything you shoot it at even by todays standards.
All a maverick has to worry about is having the target break LOS to lose lock, or getting shot down by anti missile or AA.. it does not worry about APS, ERA, or armor.
A Maverick could face pen 2 T14 armatas through the front if it wanted to and still have energy left over.
as for over-pressure, its illrelevent. the biggest parts of the tank hit by a maverck are raining down in little chunks 400 yards away. Their should not be any hit markers or slight damage icons. anything hit by a AT mav in WT or any game that has them should be hard nuked. Full stop, end of story/discussion.
You dont need to keep leaving the TGP view to fire the mav. For spotting sure it can be nice
Did you happen to use the chat before those two failed take offs? Sometimes I press enter and the first letter of what I want to type so fast that if it's a WASD key it messes with the plane. It takes an opening and a closing of the chat to reset it.

the fact the F-16C gets limited to ~2~ 65Gs is sooo funny... why is it limited to two when it has the hardpoints for four??? also lmao at the F-16C still getting Gen 1 thermal litening pod when *EVERY OTHER TARGETING POD IN THE GAME* is gen 3.... it's a nerf specifically for the American system too as the JAS39 you're flying in the vid uses THE EXACT SAME POD as the F-16C does, but gets generation 3 thermals that actually work vs the garbage the F-16C gets.
Ikr, gaijin does that on purpose, without a care. But for their ru system no problem. Give them everything and better 🤷🏾♂️ and they say balance 😂.
Why do you keep changing the camera after firing the mav? You can stay in the targeting view and launch several mavs without having to switch camera view
Once when I played my I185 my ping got stuck on 333 then my plane started moving on its own then nose dived into the ground.
Personally, having the new su25 unlocked, I think the missile approach warning is a great addition in ground realistic as it allows a counter to aim9m’s which are crazy good, but I think the missiles should be nerfed a bit

The game sometimes just start rotating the plane if that happens u need to press esc and it should be over
it's a thing that happens when you ALT TAB, it will randomly choose an input and apply it as if it's being spammed/held down (and as you said, the way you fix is hitting escape!) (ALSO you can fix by alt-tabbing again and back into the game (I do it to check twitter during rearm/repair)

I don’t think they could fit the G’s properly on the multi-racks. They’d sometimes damage the pylon when fired

am i the only one that cannot get the rb75 on the swedish gripen to fire from further away then 3 kilometers. Was it nerfed recently or i am just dumb and can't use them? they have a 20+ launch range och the statcard but i cant get them to work

Also i mean cool for the su-25 with maw but you cant fire the missles from more than 20km because thats the Max range of the laser also the camera gimble limit is about 35° witch is mutch worse than the 90° of the su25t so you have to fly towards the enemy while your giding it
The optic gimbal limit is uniquely limited but the missiles have plus 20 km launch range for sure. Both seem to be perfectly capable of launching at 30km it’s just too far to be practical.
I’ve been able to just launch at 18km to be realistically capable of launching with reasonable missile time which already just out ranges all AA.
The zoom is also 16x with Gen 2/3 thermals so the camera gimbal limit does not really mean much since you can stay at 20km away and just be looking fairly away from the targets, I have videos on it that can showcase the way the Frogfoot just plays super convenient.

@@wolf_god1776 the Kh-38ML missile goes into IOG, loft mode for the initial stage when it first fired. You can even launch it without a laser lock and it will roughly loft over the ballistic lock/target point, as of testing, will follow the laser lock to maximum slant distance possible and will go towards any laser lock once you turn it on over a target.
The Kh-38MT can be launched all the way to maximum range possible depending on altitude and speed, but essentially it can be launched with “point lock” functionality all way over 30km.
I will have to make a full video showcasing these missiles full launch functionality’s and limitations but overall these missiles don’t need to be used from plus 20km, even 15km is fine since it will outrange Tor-M1 and VT1 platforms which have max range of 13km.
And it takes well under, to 20 seconds for direct impact vs at over 20km you have around 40 seconds for direct impact which is problematic or impractical for GRB.

Prooobably all to just modern ammo with a far greater velocity. JAS39's 27mm is going at 1025m/s (3690 kph) while MiG-27K's 30mm shells travel at 825 m/s (2970 kph)

as far as i know, when i launch my AGMS i automatically get sent back into external pov, and have to swap again, it isnt like the heli targetting AFAIK

Only gets 2 and a gen 1 thermal sight.... Gripen gets 4 and a litening II pod that mysteriously gets generation 3 thermals..... as the generation 1 thermals nerf to the litening pod was ONLY applied to F-16C....
