  • I use a 36 watt UV gel light- 4 9 watt bulbs
    i got mine on ebay for about $35 and it will last me a very long time
    My polishes are all GELISH and they the base coat, black, and top coat.
    Polishes average about $12 each and last about 3-4 weeks depending how rough you are on your nails.
    Hope you guys enjoy and let me know if you have any questions :) xoxo

    Great job! Short, simple and yet contained all the info I need. I always look for the short tutorials first. Don't have time for long ones. This was to the point. Terrific!

    Just thought I would point out some things (just trying to be helpful and not a bitch lol). If you are going to be using the Gelish polish or any LED soft gel polish you do not need to file your nails to "remove shine". Its actually very unnecessary and can do more damage than good. You want to remove the oil and not shine. You can do this by using rubbing alcohol or a dehydrator. Also, it is faster to use a LED light (all soft gel polishes should cured with a LED not UV). If you stay away from the cuticle it can also help prevent your polish from lifting or chipping. Also, less is always more. The thinner and less coats you do will help keep your polish on longer! To apply the glitter, keep the "sticky" layer on your nails. This way the glitter has something to stick to and then you don't have to dip your top coat brush into the glitter and ruin the brush. Push down the glitter with a small piece of paper and then run the top coat over it.

    oh dearie me,a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. i use bluesky polishes at £5.50 for 10 ml. a uv lamp and an led lamp are the same thing,they both give off ultra violet light that cures the gel polish and makes it hard.the one with 4 x 9 watt lamps uses small compact flourescent tubes,takes about a minute from cold to get to full brightness and gives off less uv so may take 2 or so minutes to cure,more if the lamps are old.led or light emitting diodes have no warm up time,give out more light so the cure time is 30 seconds or so and will last many many thousands of hours compared to flourescent tubes hundreds. with my nails i first use a bluesky primer and NEVER EVER file the nail bed as it thins the nail,then apply a base coat and cure for 2 mins or 30 secs depending on the lamp used which will then leave the nails sticky as a by product of the curing process,this needs to be removed using isopropyl alcohol,rubbing alcohol or some similar product. next apply the colour coat of choice and again cure under the uv lamp and wipe off the sticky residue,a second coat if needed for the darker colours.a final top coat can then be applied which after curing and wiping off is usually shinier than the other layers. due to the strength and multiple layers my current colour changing gel polish,cold makes them dark and warm makes them light and shades in between, has as of today been on for three weeks over my natural nails which are all about 10mm beyond the end of my fingertips,as a a transgendered man who works in a manufacturing industry i have found them to be much harder wearing than normal polishes at work as they neither chip or scuff and can be problematic only in respect of being harder to remove than conventional polish.

    I tried China Gelaze last night on two friends under a 9watt UV lamp and we did the cuticles, top of nail filing, alcohol wash then
    1.base coat (1min)
    2.1St layer of color (1min)
    3.2ND layer of color (1min)
    4.Top coat (1min)
    5. Alcohol wipe down
    all while avoiding the edge of the cuticles and it didn't cure properly. On the 2ND friend did the same steps with increase of a minute on each step; yet at the last step again parts of the gel stayed on while parts of it completely came off. :( any suggestions?

China gelaze has base coat in it already that why you don't need foundation I use a buff nail file that pink on one side black on the other and I also use a prep and clean dehydrator work like a charm for me.. ☺💅💐

    • @SeasonalFrostbite

      the polish is not going to hurt you or your nails, it is the UV ray light that can hurt you, it can cause skin cancer and wrinkles SO all u need to do is buy a UV led light, it's better and safer for u. just buy a light bulb not that expensive nail stuff, It will cost u around 5 to 6 dollars for the lightbulb

      Here are some things you can do to prevent peeling.
      1. Prep your nails properly. Push back all the cuticle and file the nail plate gently using downward strokes this makes sure the gel adhears on the nail better. Then use an alcohol prep and wipe away all the dust. You can make a prep by mixing 1:1 ration of alcohol and acetone.
      Things to remember.
      Gel won't stick to a shiny or oily nail surface.
      Make sure you wash your hands to get rid of any oils from lotion or sunscreen before you do gel.
      Do a thin base layer first and make sure it cures properly.
      Chipping can occur also occur if you use thick coats. Do one coat first, let it cure, do another one. And then seal it with a gel topcoat and make sure you cap the free edge.

    what's the difference between using gel and nail polish?

    • @kristie312
      @kristie312 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gel nail stays longer on your own nail and does not chip easily, PLUS more shinny and natural looking compare with regular nail polish.

    Are uv lamps dangerous to use?

    • @alexsaucier6442
      @alexsaucier6442 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luka Crosszeria led is just a better choice, dries quicker and it doesn’t harm your skin like UV

    • @MsS-J
      @MsS-J 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexsaucier6442 actually LED lamps are still UV, LED just refers to the bulbs used.

      Nope not at the level they're at. But if you're worried you can just apply sun screen to your hands but be careful not to get any on your nails.
