these are bomb.. i’m a fairly new self taught nail tech and i literally dread when someone asks me to do a dark color on them😩 this was gorgeous and neat.. literally goals lol😭
I'm not a nail tech but I have a lot of experience with nail polish and gel polish and so I can paint dark colors neatly. I have some tips that may help. First apply the gel polish a Little far from the cuticle and then push it towards the cuticle because that way you won't overflood it and it will be less likely to cheap. If you push your brush lightly on the nail it will spread and fit the cuticle perfectly. Also when you are really close to the cuticle hold your brush in a 60° angle and this will help you be more precise. Lastly if with those tips you still can't go really close to the cuticle then just paint as close as you can and them use a small brush to go closer. Start with doing really thin coats and then you will slowly get used to it.
Awww music from my fav movie of all time The Great Gatsby. I love doing my 70 yr old moms nails at home and lately I’ve been doing gel so it lasts longer. She’s amazed at how long it lasts. Thanks for the video! She ❤️s it!
Holy crap there are a lot of unsupportive nail nazi keyboard warriors. I bet they all aren't good at doing nails. These turned out beautiful. Everyone has different methods. If they apply nice, look nice, last long and dont get infected, then I am sure she is doing them right. So chill people. Good hell
I watched this video and remembered how much I like dark colors on short nails like this. Now I have them. 🙂 Later, I’ll have those insanely beautiful long blue nails!
Don’t forget (anyone watching) to let gravity do the work for you as well, by keeping the finger nail pointing downwards. Starting in the middle means the nail plate nearest the sidewalls gets done last, so there’s less chance of the product spreading to the skin area (as well as not overloading your brush and wiping away excess polish from one side of the brush). You can also cap the free edge first to avoid a ridge, then brush down to it to keep it smooth.
the reason why she kept going back & forth between nails (two nails at a time) because gel polish tends to shrink if doesn't cure under lamp quickly. i've noticed this when i work on nails myself.
Alexis Lopez that barely happen in the shop. it means the surface wasn't prepped good enough. buff the surface, cleanse with acetone. dehydrate and then primer. add 1/2 base coats, 2/3 coats of polish (depending on the color) one top coat. after everything is cured... file the free edge. your mani will last for months with no chipping
Miss Mathews LIES. I don’t care how well you prep the nail, gel polish moves and if you don’t cure it as quickly as possible it will start to chip before two weeks. And filing compromises it too. You have to cap the free edge. Sometimes I use two layers of base coat too
Natiya Cisse lol well sucks for you. I work at a nail shop 😊. my services always last. learn how to use your products, i don't know what to tell you because i do nails all day and i've witnessed and experienced longevity with our services. you're most likely going to a chop show. modern shop, you get what you want first time around😊😊😊😊😊😊. has nothing to do with curing lol. you cure after you polish each hand... use the product.. don't let it use you. STILL FIRM, A GEL MANI CAN LAST 3/4 WEEKS IF PREPPED CORRECTLY
Miss Mathews CAN but not likely. Gel is practically bulletproof on nail enhancements but unfortunately the same can’t be said for natural nails. That’s just the reality.
Natiya Cisse lol it's FACTS. lol i see it all day long lol. acrylic don't be all broken and cracked either. no lifting, hair pulling NONE. find a new nail tech lol.
This week I've took off my fake long acrylics that I've been wearing for 10 + years now and I've decided to wear my Natura nails for awhile and see how that goes( not saying I'm not gunna stop getting long acrilics in the future) and this is exactly how I want my nails painted when I get them done in 2 weeks I think black and white nails polish looks the best on short nails, I can wait you did such a great job
Hello! I was wondering why you do two fingers at a time? I’m a licensed nail tech working at a nail salon and want to improve since I’m a newbie! Please answer:)
+Palmira & Rui Thank you very much for your comment 😉 Honestly since I've been using this degreaser and this gel base coat I don't have any lifting problems. Sometimes I use gels from other brands like Crystal Nails or Peggy Sage and I don't have problems while not using primer; every brand has a primer but I don't use it so I think if you properly cleanse and apply a good base on your nails you don't need to use a primer 😉
l didnt see you put the nails in the machine for drying like they do in nail saloons. dont this nails need drying or its like a normal nail polish where they dry themselves ?
Is the base just a clear coat of nail polish or is it a special gel ..? Sorry I kind of want to learn I’ve never done them before; you explain everything very well I just want to know what I need to get in store to do them 😃💅
Gel polish and nail polish are different from each other. If you use a regular nail base coat and then a gel polish the gel won’t stick; it’ll slide right off. You have to use a gel base for it to stick
Look into a starter kit that's for begginers. I've got one from the brand depend, it's amazing, and the steps are easy to follow. I've done my own nails for a long time, then got them done in a salon bc I wasn't having it anymore to spend so much time on them. And then I decided to look into some gellack and LED's and believe me BEST DECISION EVER! my nails are done in 15min max. And they last for 2 to 3 weeks.
whenever i do my gel polish they never stay on. when i get them done at the nail salon they stay on for at least 2 weeks sometimes even up to a month. i have the same top coat and base coat as my nail salon and i have the light. any tips on how to get them to stay longer? i put acetone on my nails before to make sure there’s no oils. i’m so lost and without a gel polish on my nails break very easily.
It's all in the prep. File and gently buff your nails so there is NO shine. Dust off and wipe with rubbing alcohol. Apply thin layers of gel especially the base coat. I don't know why this tech suggests thick layers that's a big no no with gel. Always better to apply three thin layers than 2 thick ones! Hope this helps.
i’ve only been doing nails for 4 months and i’ve had this problem too. it’s probably because you aren’t buffing the nail fully and getting rid of shine and oils on the natural nail. also a dehydrator or alcohol will help too, at least that’s what has helped me!
@@TheValerinFamily Hi Michelle 👋 I'm a qualified nail tech specialising in gel nails. When I prep I use acetone to cleanse the nail plate before application of base coat. Might be worth giving acetone a try 😊
I’ve been trying to do them myself, when I get to the removing the sticky layer at the end they always mess up and u have to remove everything and start over, no matter the drying time..idk what I’m doing wrong
e_stimpy 7 I was using gel nail polish that was a dry on it own 🙄 I was unaware that it needed no lamp, I have to let them dry by them self until I purchase actual gel nail polish. But I use, gel cleanser
There’s a no wipe top coat I love. It’s called Born Pretty. You can get it on eBay for like $5-$6. It’s super shiny. I feel like the no wipe is shinier than the wipe but that’s just my opinion. However you do have to cure it with a lamp, but you can use it on top of regular nail polish too.
My problem is the top coat. I always feel like it overlaps my color and looks ugly on the edges. Should the top coat be a little further than the color one ?

careful with at home nails, if applied wrong you can get a nail/gel/acrylic/methacyltes allergy! Beware

@@janveekisto2310 about 30 seconds in LED lamp:DDDDDDD
This set came out beautifully. I have a question, the lamp that you use what setting do you have it on to cure the nails or is it just one setting ?
There’s only one setting..but the only diff thing
is the amount of seconds
Indeed one of the best I've seen🥰
So soothing! This relaxes me so much
So that’s the key to the nail not looking flat??? A good amount of gel base coat??
Nails look very nice. Beautiful color. 😍

Very satisfying to watch, great job ♥️
Hello! I was wondering why you do two fingers at a time? I’m a licensed nail tech working at a nail salon and want to improve since I’m a newbie! Please answer:)
so the gel doesnt have time to run to the cuticules i would say
seydamazingnails because she was doing it very thick which I don’t prefer it this way . It doesn’t last
Because gel can shrink or shift, ie pull back from the free edge. You can flash cure for 10 seconds a couple of nails at a time to prevent this.
That color is gorgeous!
What color is that on your beautiful long nails? I love them!!!!!
ok saw this im thinking "lets go for the short nails"
saw her nail: "crap now i want her nail"😂😂😂😂
So you used to coat after the base
How do you prevent the tiny bumps or air bubbles when you put the top coat on?
U can let them actually cool b4 applying or put base coat then top or the top ur using isn't compatible with that polish brand
Those are so beautiful.
Love it! Do you mind adding the link of the tools you are using. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
So beautifull work:)

Also you start immediately with the base coat. No prep? No primer?
What do you use to cleanse the nail at the end luv?
Nail cleaner or just plain 90% rubbing alcohol
Hi! How long does this entire manicure take you? Thanks! 🥰👍
Very good and beautiful nails 💅

Ur nails are soooo pretty
I like short nails paint on them nails 💅
They are sooo pretty😍😍😍😍😍💖💖
I love your tips!!!! How long do you cure the base, gel polish and top coat?!
It will typically say on the bottle. Some gel polish needs to take longer than others. It's usually around 1 minute cure time
30 seconds for base and top coat in an LED. 2 minutes in a UV lamp.
Absolutely beautiful 😍
So gel First then two coats Of colour and finishing Top coat?
Veronica Lidström Joannides yep
You can do 3 colour coats if you have a pale colour that you want to add more coverage to 💓
All four coats were gel
But you left the cuticles completely busted?
How many seconds are you curing for?
Yeah I got the same nails to but I got pink like ah dark light pink

It's not as much the brand that you are using but the way you apply them. If has to do with how you prepare the nail.
I agree with them also make sure you cap the free edge when applying base coat, the gel polish of your choice and top coat.
Love it 💖💅

Instead of nail degreasser can I use acetone to remove the sticky part at the end of the manicure?? Or no
no this will weaken the polish, you can use rubbing alcohol
@@SuperKermit19 ok so rubbing alcohol, thank you!!

Sounds like you may be putting too much product on your brush.
Looks nice
Do I need to have a base gel?
It's better to have one to protect your nails
Yes, it gives the coloured gel something to adhere to, prevents staining of the natural nail and helps the manicure last longer.
Yeah with gel manicures you have to use it for it to last
Can we use a brush that is more thinner when applying the color?
Yes just make sure brush is saturated with gel first
So helpful thank you!!!!
Last forever??!?
Can you use cuticle remover before gel nails ?
Yes
Can u do it on fake nails
