  • Please note that when I reassembled the head I should have turned the coarse knob FORWARD instead of backwards. That mistake was why the coarse knob was a bit loose and didn't snap back after reassembly.
My older Manfrotto/Bogen 410 Junior Geared tripod head had a bit a play in it, allowing for some wiggle. Obviously we want the head and tripod to be as sturdy as possible. I've probably been using it this way for years, but decided to look into the matter. Please shorter followup video here... • Quick and easy adjustm...

The problem with my head is the bottom gear is extended right back and wont go back to the middle, i was trying to take photos of stars and tilted my Junior head right back. Now i cant straighten it up. Shall i do what you have done the first time, i guess it will release the gear, yes?

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand. If you have it stuck all the way back and can't get the fine adjustment knob to turn it free, it would seem like you could take off the sticker and loosen the 4mm bolt just enought to free it up. Good luck. I feel like I've had mine stuck before, but that would have been a long time ago.
