I just got out of a relationship with a woman who is an atheist. This sermon was meant for me. Thank God and thank you pastor for speaking the truth. I prayed to God to show me the wise way to deal with my situation and I believe He just gave me my answer. Although I love this woman, if she doesn't turn to Christ we can not be together.
This was an outstanding word and much deeper than it appears to me.
It applies to all aspects of life, on all the choices we make daily. What we watch on tv and our phones, what we listen on the radio, what we read on books and so forth. That’s why it’s so important to have a heart change! Only God can change our broken nature and character to love what HE loves.
THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR HOLY SPIRIT THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!

Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future. I was an addict for 9 years of 25 to 30 Percocet 10/325 a day. I quit cold turkey. While I was withdrawing from percs I started reading the Bible and became a Christian. That was 12 years ago. The group of friends I had stayed in that lifestyle so I got away from them. I told them they needed to stop and give them the gospel and I couldn’t be around it. I told them this only ends in 2 ways death or prison. They are all dead now. I did start a ministry called Hands and feet street ministry and I deal mainly with homeless and addicts. Never judge a book by its cover. You don’t know their backstory. 99% of people who use are doing it to not feel because some major trauma happened. I just let them I see you and hear you. And just listen to them with no judgement. I’ve heard stories that would make a Billy goat puke.

I know exactly what you're saying, been there & done that & I lost all the so called friends but it's ok cuz God is so much more important
that is awesome, we have a hands and feet ministry here in Bastrop Texas where we go into Austin Texas and wash the feet of the homeless. We do the pedicures and get them cleaned up really good. Give them new footwear and pray with them. Look up of Heirs Grace here in Bastrop it is a really cool Fellowship!...Brent(been outta the pen since 2008!)
Praise the Lord for rescuing you from destruction through Jesus the Christ! Brother, we do judge “a book by its cover “ all of the time, and discerning things we see isn’t bad unless we only walk by sight…but we do in fact look and make judgements wisely. Yes, we may not know the exact story behind why someone turns to drugs, but we do know from the Word, that we are all deeply twisted from sin and our fallen nature. We do know that that person chose to numb themselves from pain rather than face it and heal…we do know that each person can only truly change by the power of the gospel, so we share hope with all & leave the rest to the Spirit of God for conversion.
Then we obey Christ & we judge by the fruit we see in their life, if they are truly converted…
I was never warned against bad friends and was raised in a way that told me that Jesus hung out with eff ups and losers so I should do the same.. it kept me humble but since I wasn't strong in my convictions, I partook in their crappy lifestyles. I figured it out late in life that the company you keep matters, when I got held at gunpoint and robbed by a bunch of gangsters because they thought I was friends with a guy I gave a ride to that i used to work with..I can't find wise friends, so I hang out alone now.
Better alone on the path to heaven than in company on the road to hell.

It would basically talking a person who only speaks about or directly in the Word of God.
I think it would be like talking to a robot. He has everything memorized. Every question has a memorized answer. Not my idea of a good conversation but everyone is different. Lots of people like to be told what they are supposed to believe.
@@KA2HROif you ask someone what 2 plus 2 is,they will “like a robot” give you the memorized answer 4..that’s just the nature of truth it’s exclusive and narrow and if you don’t enjoy that it’s because you enjoy not knowing/suppression of truth..it’s better to just make random things up because they feel good to you in the moment right?thats a meaningless conversation of “opinions” that goes absolutely nowhere….if there is a creator of a company there is only one way to be successful in that company and that’s to be told what to do and follow it..There is a Creator of the universe and your eternal soul, if you don’t want to be told what to do by Him then just like the person that doesn’t like the authority of the companies creator you will be fired 🔥..you find comfort in ambiguity and muddy waters because of your love for the sin that will eventually destroy you if you don’t repent

I’m a Lutheran (LCMS) and our sermons are generally around twenty minutes. If they go twenty five some people get grumpy. 🤣I grew up Baptist though and they were generally around forty five minutes to an hour so I don’t care either way. I listen to sermons all day these days and love it.

Brother jeff, could you shed some light on the matter of working with/ working for unbelievers, im in the business of framing houses and would like to only do business with other brethren but there's noone who wants to work anymore it seems and that makes it difficult to build a good business without any good help which leaves me trying to piggy back off/ work with people who aren't Christians if im going to succeed and support myself and family, nevermind signing contracts with home owners/ general contractors who aren't Christian
