Powerful Sermon On Fake Christianity

  • Jeff Durbin was asked to be a guest speaker for a high school youth group in a very large church for a new series on sin. He was asked to speak on the topic of abortion for about 25-minutes. Not long before he spoke, Jeff says he was convinced to do away with most of his planned sermon and emphasize something else.
    This is what happened.

At 19 I got pregnant and the church reacted negatively with bad looks, and asking if my baby had a Father. I was ashamed but still wanted my child. Because of the bad reputation my pregnancy brought my Mom, she asked me to go to the clinic to "talk". I found out years later that she had already paid for my abortion and signed all the paperwork although I was an adult. The clinic "nurse" gave me a pill after my Mom left without warning. My baby was ripped out. It was bloody and she was put in a Tupperware bowl on the counter. 11 years later I met Jesus alone in my car when I confessed to my part in her murder. The Scripture says the "little" children will lead them. My Daughter lead me to Him. He told me He was a crisis pregnancy! His Mother was a teenager on the run because being pregnant with Jesus was a crime in her culture. Every young Mom in a crisis pregnancy can relate to Mary and we should not make them feel ashamed for their teenage pregnancy. To answer the church's question, does your baby have a Father?....Yes, His name is Jesus.

Two days ago marks the day that the Lord opened my eyes to the utter hypocrisy that I had been living while I sat there and called myself a follower of Christ and quite frankly I was disgusted with myself and I got on my face and lamented before GOD and he changed me instantly. I was weeping profusely and at the same time I felt profound peace.

    • @deniseedmondson6236

Oh my goodness! I had to laugh when I read about crying profusely and feeling peace at the same time and I am giggling now because I remember that so clearly when I was 16 which was when I accepted Christ at the Lighthouse Ranch in Lolita, California! Crying and feeling peace happened again 6 plus years ago when I had to almost die to get on my knees again, tell him I was sorry and through my tears cry... Jesus please help me! Since that morning I have been studying the word of God, listening to great videos by Jeff and many others, praising God, singing with beautiful and inspiring Christian rock, rap, jazz, blues, hymns Plus and dragging my feet, sometimes even subconsciously to some extent while my loving father is taking me through painful, difficult and deep changes! I know these changes are good but they hurt like hell after 2 + decades of running and hiding in heroin and Klonopin/ benzo addiction! Oh yes and praying though not enough! Lord please take me where I need to go to become more like you, give me the strength to go through it, use me, please bless me... your will be done before I am with you! It is a miracle I am still alive and don't look scarier than I do! It is crazy how I seem to feel good when I am sharing the word of God which I do everyday with many people he puts in my path! Are my reasons for sharing because I want to feel the Holy Spirit? Ohyeah at least partly! That is my great Grandma who pretty much raised me, grandfather who died before I was born, my grandma and Aunt in my profile picture. No we are not the point in any of this... You are right! It is what God has done to us, around us and mostly through us that is the point! Satan has been hitting me hard this past month but God uses evil to bring forth good! Please pray for me brothers and sisters! I am saying a prayer for you now Avery and everyone else reading this! Pray for our country, the world and all the people around you! It is difficult to love others and pray for them when they are working on destroying you! I am very emotional and overwhelmed right now so sorry for all the words. Thank you for your prayers! Even though Satan is roaring loud right now Jesus put him in his place two thousand years ago which was part of the plan all along! Difficult to understand? Yes of course and we don't need to know-it-all but!... I have learned more in the past six years than I did the 30 before... hell... for the 50+ before! 6 plus years ago I got my head beat in to the point of traumatic brain injury which almost killed me... It takes what it takes to bring you to your knees! Thank you Lord God!

People! Stop praising a man! He is just doing what God called him to do... What God calls all of us to do! Almost all of the comments I read after I hear a sermon or presentation by Jeff, are praises for Jeff, not Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit that is working in and through him. I think he would be the first one to tell you not to praise him. Get your eyes off of men, and onto Jesus Christ! Then get on your knees and ask the Lord what He would have you do for the sake of the Kingdom.

Which of course would have to mean that it's okay to recognize good work, good preaching, even good obedience. Etc.

I used to be pro-life as a catholic(born and raised but not saved), then when I strayed and went into the new age(demonic deception) movement I was pro-choice - strongly believing it was just a clump of cells and it’s the government trying to control women(that one stings now.) now as a saved Christian I would have to say I’m pro-choice but not pro-abortion. Meaning I’d be the first to be at the abortion centers praying for them and with love trying to get them to change their minds, but would not vote against legal abortion (that’s proven to be an even bigger mess) as well as I believe it’s between the woman and God. Hearing you mention, at the start, the countries you get to reach thanks to the internet. Just wanted to shout out for the work you’ve done in my family over here down under. You, Jeff, have helped to turn my family around and unteach my parents from the penticostal and NAR influenced church teachings they grew up with. I’d like to thank and praise you, Jeff the Ninja. You, along with Chris the Pirate Christian Rosebrough, and Freakishly Tall Todd Friel. You three have changed my family for God. I’m not sure if you’ve met the other two, but I suggest you do at some point. You three have helped to re-introduce the truth of the Bible into my family. I’m typing this as the 22yr old son who has seemed to be able to ignore most socialite and church trends. I haven’t been influenced by most of the false teachings that have taken hold of the church. I’m not sure how I manage this, but I am glad. I know I haven’t been influenced because I find myself agreeing with the three of you and just expecting what you teach to be common sense and obvious to christians, and the influences I’ve noticed in myself, I’ve kind of struggled with and wrestled with it. I’m not saying this to brag in my own ignorance, but to thank you for teaching the truth. My parents have had to struggle and wrestle with the false teachings they know from childhood and young adulthood, and now, my Dad can’t help but exclaim the truth and teach against the commonly known false truths. It’s thanks, in part, to Apologia church and Jeff the Ninja for the truth.

He cannot strengthen anyone, only the Holy Spirit can do that. Paul the Apostle continuously had to tell people not to follow him or praise him; that he was just a bond servant of the Lord. You cannot go out and start preaching to people based upon another's ministry. It must be from the Holy Spirit , alone, working in you and speaking through you. Submit to the Lord in all your ways, and He will guide you.

Keith Green was an enigma in that he absolutely didn't care what people thought of him; he spoke the word of the Lord without compromise and turned away from any praise. He bought the property in Texas in order to be more effective in service... And, to be out of the limelight. I remember the day it was announced that he, along with two of his children, had been killed in a plane crash, I said to my son "the world has just lost one of the greatest voices of truth out there." I think one of the most important things about Keith, is that he shunned praise. There wasn't room for it in his heart because it was all about Jesus, not him. I like Jeff Durbin, and agree with much of what he has to say, but I cringe every time people praise him... I would hope, that he also shuns praise directed towards him. We are all sinners, saved by grace.

Some people are nudged gently by God, I was shoved down the stairs (fell) and severe sninal injury forced me to reevaluate my spiritual relationship with God. I didn't ask for healing and I didn't expect it. I came to understand that I wanted to serve Him wether I recovered or not. I had to crawl up the stairs in my house everyday and I thanked God for the suffering He endured for me. I'm not entirely without pain but I can work and I can walk or even run. I thank God every day for allowing me to recover so I can continue to provide for my family. I would thank Him every day if He didn't allow that as well because I know that He would still provide.

Bro Jeff I can see opposition and malice against you but I pray to God that He continues to use you as He is right now. Jesus said My yoke is easy, My burden is light." He also said, "In me you have peace, but in this world you will have tribulation."
The totality of the NT indicates that the grace of God by the Holy Spirit inspires, enlightens, and empowers the believer to live a transformed life. To live like Jesus without the ongoing infilling of Holy Spirit isn't just hard, it's impossible!! Knowing about Jesus only emphasizes what you are not able to do. However knowing Jesus intimately, abiding in Him by surrender and submission moment by moment to Holy Spirit is righteousness, peace, and joy. The life of God springs forth and does in and through you what you cannot due by mere human efforts, no matter how serious you are or how hard you try. Only Jesus can live the Christian life, and for Him it is effortless because it is according to His very nature. He is light and no darkness at all. If we walk in that Spirit you will not fulfill the list of the flesh. In Him is fullness of joy!
If living out our faith seems hard, it's because our focus and devotion is not totally on walking intimately, abiding in Him, but on the works themselves, or in trying not to sin.
Dan Mohler teaches on practical righteousness wonderfully and with great passion and love. Be greatly blessed in Him today!!

It has been incredibly challenging to find this kind of truth being shared where I live. Thank the Lord that He is working through His children in so many ways to share the word and that His light shines through the darkness.

I had a Catholic friend today tell me there are many ways to God, that she believes in a merciful God that won't condemn loving good people to hell for believing in the "wrong" religion. Ugh! She told me she believes buddhists will go to heaven because God loves them too. What!? I asked her so does that mean you're going to become one with the universe by believing Jesus Christ is God? She looked at me confused. I asked her why would buddhist go to heaven when they don't even believe in In God or heaven? If that can happen then you get to be one with the universe and come back as a cat for believing in Jesus. How does that make any kind of sense at all? I told her the Bible teaches there is ONE way to the Father and that is through the LORD Jesus Christ. She told me I was misinterpreting the Bible, I should leave that up to scholars because I can't possibly understand it.

However, you don't believe in solo scriptura. You believe in your church writings. You don't need the blessed mother, Queen of heaven to pray for you. You can ask and pray. You don't need her to intercede for you. I pray you honestly look at your bible and pray about it.

I left Catholicism and into a relationship with Jesus, there’s a big difference. Not that a Catholic can’t have this same relationship and still be in the Church, but my next question would be, why the Catholic Church, they teach you to pray to Mary (a sinner) with your rosary, they tell you to repent before a priest (also a sinner), their churches are filled with symbols and idols, etc... I pray for you brother, I pray that your relationship with Jesus grows through reading scripture.🙏🏼

Personally I don't push speaking in tongues because God does that you seem to think it's fake. Have you read the book of Acts specifically Acts 2:4 " and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 11:17) for as much then as God gave them the same gift as he did unto us who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ what was I that I could withstand God?

Tongues ceased in the 1st century and everyone understood that until some heretics in 1901 named Charles Fox Parham, Agnes Ozman, R.E. McAlister, and others brought in the pentecostal movement and then baptism and tongues were made mandatory for salvation later on. They deny God's triune nature, preach a works based salvation and that it can be lost and are nothing but a cult. Bryan Mcgills "repent" the greek word "metanoia" does not mean the same as the english translation. the greek word means a "change of mind"
the english word means to be sorrow and turn away from sin.
the english word implies "works" to be able to be save, by works I mean self effort, which contradicts simple text of the bible that say, not of works, not of yourselves, is the gift of God by faith, by grace, lest you or I or anyone could boast or brag.
the english translation should not be used when preaching the true Gospel because it perverts and adds works to the plan of salvation and will not save anyone.

I know many people want the right to judge other people according to the Bible LOL but the thing is God knows the intention of the heart who? God does and he will judge us. What people do does not necessarily display their hearts intentions from your perspective most of the time their hearts intentions are slightly or completely different than you thought. Never the less it's not going to be you who separates the sheep from the goats so stop doing that on Earth. Promote every Christian or believer or whatever people are calling themselves. Romans 3:10-18
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
    Romans 8:28-37
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
    1 Peter 1:2-5
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
    1 Peter 1:19-21
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
    Ephesians 1:3-7
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
    7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
    Ephesians 1:9-11
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
    Proverbs 16:4
The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

    8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

    Matthew 22:14
For many are called, but few are chosen.

    Mark 13:20
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
    John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
    Jeremiah 1:4-5
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
    Acts 15:17-18
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
    John 6:44

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
    Romans 11:7
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
    Romans 11:28
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
    Isaiah 42:1
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

T = TOTAL INABILITY (Called in Calvinism, Total Depravity, but actually taught as the Total Inability of man to choose Truth. The Calvinist plays many such word games. The Word of God teaches that God created man with the ability to reason, choose, and receive Truth.):
Ephesians 2:8: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."
Romans 10:17: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
James 1:21: "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and RECEIVE with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls."
Isaiah1:18: "Come now, and let us REASON together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
Deuteronomy 30:19: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may live."
Joshua 24:15: "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, CHOOSE you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Psalm 119:30, 111, 173: "I have CHOSEN The Way of Truth: Thy Judgments have I laid before me....Thy Testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for They are the rejoicing of my heart....Let Thine hand help me; for I have chosen Thy Precepts."
John 1:12: "But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
2 Timothy 1:12: "...I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have COMMITTED unto him against that day."
U = UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION (Calvinism teaches that God selects those who are to be saved without any condition, but the Bible teaches that there is one condition to salvation: faith.):
1 Peter 1:2: "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ..."
2 Thessalonians 2:13: "...God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth."
Luke 7:50: "... Thy faith hath saved thee ..."
Ephesians 2:8: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."
L = LIMITED ATONEMENT (Calvinism teaches that Christ died only for the elect, but the Bible teaches that He died for all mankind. The reason not all are saved is because they failed to repent and receive the Saviour, not because He didn't provide for their salvation.):
Isaiah 53:6: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us ALL."
1 Timothy 4:10: "For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL MEN, specially of those that believe."
1 John 2:2: "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD."
Hebrews 2:9: "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for EVERY MAN."
1 Timothy 2:4: "Who will have ALL MEN to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the Truth."
I = IRRESISTIBLE GRACE (Calvinism teaches that God's grace for salvation cannot be resisted, but the Word of God says it can be resisted):
Lamentations 3:35-36: "To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not."
Matthew 23:37: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and YE WOULD NOT!"
John 5:39-40: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And YE WILL NOT come to me, that ye might have life."
Acts 7:51: "Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always RESIST the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye."
Proverbs 1:24-26: "Because I have called, and YE REFUSED; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh."
Proverbs 29:1: "He, that being often reproved HARDENETH HIS NECK, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."
P = PERSEVERANCE (The Bible teaches preservation of the saints; not perseverance of the saints):
Jude 1: "... to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and PRESERVED in Jesus Christ..."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24: "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and I pray God your whole spirit and soul, and body be PRESERVED blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. "
John 10:27-29: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Fathers hand."
Colossians 3:3-4: "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
Hebrews 7:25: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
      CONCLUSION:
Calvinism clearly errs from the teaching of the Word of God on all 5 points of it's TULIP. The logical conclusion of Calvinism is that God is an unfair respecter of persons who chooses people to salvation, not according to any standard that He established, but arbitrarily. This strikes at the love and justice of God, contradicts the fact that Christ gave his life for ALL, and rejects man's responsibility to choose and love his Creator.
Proverbs 24:23: "... It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment."
Acts 10:34-35: "... Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him."
John 6:28-29: "... What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? ... This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.
Ephesians 2:8: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

This man preaches Works! You CANNOT work your way into heaven!!! By Grace are we saved, not by our works. this man says to do this and that, to turn from our sins, turn to Christ for life, love our neighbor,to die to self and for the preborn...ALL WORKS

GV, read the New Testament 3 times and I promise you'll come back with a different perspective. We are saved by grace. We were dead in our sins and at enmity with God when He, by grace, reached out to us. Our response to God's amazing grace is a life that realizes that there is no greater calling than to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, the One that gave himself up for you, me Gal 2:20. How are we brought from death to new life? Jesus said we must be born again. How can we be born again unless we die to self. Imagine if the disciples of Christ were saved by grace and then disobeyed His teaching. Did nothing for the One that gave Himself up for them? Went back home to live their life? Didn't deny themselves? Didn't take up their cross daily (death wish and humility) and follow Him? Luke 9:24-25. Read James 2:14 - 26 and grasp, works by faith, NOT faith by works. Grace and Peace to You! May we experience the abundant life, by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, as we are raised from death the newness of LIFE!

@Great Value true it's by faith and faith alone but what does having faith mean? Can you really say you have faith in Jesus and not follow him?
Can you say you have faith in Jesus and not repent and turn from sin?
Again I ask you what does faith mean to you?
Jesus talked alot about what is required to follow him.
Jesus even said pick up your cross and be willing to give your life.
If you were face with somthing like that I can easily see you talk yourself out of it claiming it was works.
What does faith mean in the word of God?
If you think you have the golden ticket and nothing else is required you better go check out that ticket because Jesus just might say he doesn't know you.

Gods Soulja Nope. Does your belief system allow you to comfortably engage in false witness?
Jeff has countless videos teaching that salvation is a gift from God and only possible through faith apart from any work.
We just happen to agree with the New Testament in that when God saves a sinner they are born again and good works follow. Because they are saved.

Apologia Studios. In what way am I bearing false witness? I listened to this sermon and when he quotes Romans 1:16 he forgot to say that it is the power of God unto salvation to all that BELIEVE. Key word is BELIEVE. If God offers the free gift of eternal life to all who will believe in Jesus then how is it that my works somehow earns the free gift? I believe in living a godly life but that has nothing to do with my salvation. How about Romans 4:5 blessed is the man whom does not work but his faith is counted as righteousness. I don't want to start a fight but I do want you to see the real gospel and that is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. You guys are missing the good news

    • @ApologiaStudios
      @ApologiaStudios  6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

Gods Soulja You are clearly not familiar with our ministry. You are bearing false witness when you claim we teach something other than justification through faith alone. We have hundreds of hours on that point.
Finally, he quoted THAT portion because of the emphasis he was making about WHAT God uses to bring about salvation: the Gospel.
We want to very humbly encourage you to have integrity and more rigorous standards of thinking when you engage in critiquing another. Jesus isn't glorified when we lie and misrepresent others.

*Unshaken faith:* “And I heard a voice from the Father, saying: Yea, the words of my Beloved are true and faithful. He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. And now, my beloved brethren, I know by this that unless a man shall endure to the end in following the example of the Son of the living God, he cannot be saved.
“Wherefore, do the things which I have told you I have seen that your Lord and your Redeemer should do; for, for this cause have they been shown unto me that ye might know the gate by which ye should enter. For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.
“And then are ye in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the commandments of the Father and the Son; and ye have received the Holy Ghost, which witnesses of the Father and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made that if ye entered in by the way ye should receive.
“And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
“Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
“And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God without end. Amen.”

*Jesus Christ is our judge:* “Repent of all your sins and iniquities and believe in Jesus Christ that he is the Son of God, and that he was slain by the Jews, and by the power of the Father he hath risen again, whereby he hath gained the victory over the grave; and also in him is the sting of death swallowed up.
“And he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead, whereby man must be raised to stand before his judgment-seat.
“And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end.
“Therefore repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and lay hold upon the gospel of Christ.”
“And he shall rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men.”
“Wo, wo unto him who knoweth that he rebelleth against God! For salvation cometh to none such except it be through repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
“And now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?”
“And these things doth the Spirit manifest unto me; therefore I write unto you all. And for this cause I write unto you, that ye may know that ye must all stand before the judgment-seat of Christ, yea, every soul who belongs to the whole human family of Adam.”
“And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father I will draw all men unto me that they may be judged according to their works.
“And it shall come to pass that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.”
“And whosoever will harden his heart and will do iniquity, behold, I swear in my wrath that he shall not enter into my rest.”

The Savior’s encounter with the Sadducees *_proves_* that eternal marriage is one of the Savior’s doctrines. The Sadducees, who “say there is no resurrection” and do not believe in “angels” (see Acts 23:8), certainly would not make up a doctrine that is based on the resurrection.
The Sadducees went to see the Savior with their pre-planned story about a woman marrying seven brothers, one after another as each one died, until “last of all the woman died,” and the Sadducees asked, “Therefore, in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.”
They clearly intended to mock the Savior and his doctrine of eternal marriage, but the Savior did not suffer himself or his doctrine to be mocked. The Savior did not answer their question and instead referred only to the six brothers to whom she would not be a wife in the eternities, stating, “In the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven,” which served to tell the Sadducees that there is a resurrection and that there are angels, both of which the Sadducees deny.
The Sadducees went there with high hopes of mocking the Savior, expecting him to explain his doctrine of eternal marriage, the same doctrine that Jesus Christ has restored in these latter days, and the Savior’s reply “put the Sadducees to silence” (see Matthew 22:34).
Those who reject the restoration of Jesus Christ’s doctrine of eternal marriage and seek to mock it are like unto the Sadducees, who fought against the Savior and all his doctrines.

Testimony of Christ You are right in saying that they came to mock Jesus and He silenced them well and made it obvious how there IS a resurrection and living angels but Jesus doesn't say of only the six brothers, He plainly states that there is no marriage and no one is given into marriage. He's pretty general and very plain. He answered their question with the truth.

Count the cost for salvation? I think you are confusing salvation (free gift) with service/discipleship which IS costly. Justification with sanctification. Sorry, salvation is totally free to the recipient who believes the gospel. A free gift can't be "costly." Salvation and service must be kept separate or you bring confusion. Do not put the cart before the horse. I'm saved because of what Jesus Christ has done for me, not what I do for Him.
Don't make additions to the Gospel and the Biblical requirements for salvation. There is a clear distinction between a requirement for salvation and a result of salvation. The two should not be confused with each other. A willingness and desire for Christ to rule over one’s life are prompted by the new spiritual life imparted by the Holy Spirit when He regenerates the believer at salvation. The unsaved do not and cannot submit to divine rule (Romans 8:7). Just as a tree cannot have apples unless it already has the nature of an apple tree, so a person cannot have a willingness and desire to submit to Christ’s rule unless he already possesses the new nature received by regeneration at salvation (2 Pet. 1:3-4). Thus, even the willingness and desire to submit to Christ’s rule are the result of, and not a requirement for, salvation.
For salvation, Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30). For discipleship (service) Jesus said “pick up your cross and follow me”. Discipleship is NOT easy with a light burden. They are talking about two different things. Don't confuse salvation and discipleship. Salvation is FREE. Discipleship is costly, BUT will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ. If you abide in Him, you can bear much fruit! Are you in the doctrine of Jesus or the doctrine of the Pharisees? The parable of the publican and the Pharisee is a great illustration.

Thanks be to God! This is the true message of the Gospel! Salvation is acquired through faith in Jesus Christ, but that faith is not a one time profession. True faith is one that is professed everyday in all of our actions and words. The Catholic Church is always accused of a belief in work-based salvation. We do not believe one can merit their own salvation, but instead believe that TRUE faith is a faith that is active.
"What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead."
    James 2:14-17, 26
May all of us be saved from our tepidity and truly love God and our brothers and sisters with true faith.
