I have a 01 Corolla and this was very helpful, thank you. If any of you are wondering like I was how to plug the old speaker wire harness/connector to your new speakers, all I did was cut the old red(positive)/black(negative) wires off the old speakers and got a crimp connector to attach them to the new speaker wires that were supplied with the new speakers I bought. I got some $35 Kenwood 6.5 inch speakers from Best Buy that fit perfect into the old base in the back speakers. Hope this helps, I may make a quick video on it if I have time.
Thanks to this video, I now have two shiny new rear deck speakers to replace the factory set--one of which was blown out. This was super helpful, and very easy to follow. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for your share and guide. It’s very helpful. Other bitter ppl should stop critizing others’ decisions when seeking for their guide. You don’t know their personal plan and priorities. So ungrateful.
Im having issues after replacing new door speakers im thinking the speaker covers on the door panel is just a little smaller then the speaker its hitting the speaker any ideas ?
what stereo head unit do u recommend? I really like the Alpine 105 but not sure if it's worth $150... or is there no significant difference and I should just go for a $100 stereo?
Thank you so much for this video. When it started with no speaking and metal music i was thinking to myself, great, and unprofessional teenager tearing things up. The video editing is a bit out there for me, but it had a lot of great content, and helped me (biggest problem was those child seat bolts). Good angles on the camera, caught the important stuff.
I know it’s 10 years later but now it makes sense why my speakers didn’t work. I threw away my original speakers that had the brackets so that it would be mounted properly. What do I do if I threw it away ?
@BaowowNguyen I have the Pioneer P4100UB and good. It's kind of old so I don't know what are the new features for the new head units. I bought this one because of its (3) hi-volt pre-outputs and the ipod control. But definitely, you should buy a Pioneer or Alpine
in your video you show how to remove the panel which is great but then it cuts to the new speaker ....will the aftermarket speakers screw holes line up exactly with the factory speaker bracket ? i know most aftermarket speakers are pretty much universal but is the corolla door speakers holes going to match the holes in the speakers i buy ? can you maybe shed some light on this please ty ...great video btw
Really blew the front speaker installation. Do you reuse the rivets or grind them off? Did you buy a mount bracket and drill new holes or reuse the existing? This part was like those auto manuals that don't show you where the part is located but advise you to remove it.
@MyMrBlackBerry dynamat ! google it, its a sound deadner that helps to reduce rattles. I didn't use the one of the brand dynamat, i used one that is called peel and seal that it is not for car audio but is cheaper and it is sold in Lowes. The sound of your car will be much better.
@antidescent go to crutchfield's website and they will tell you the size of your speakers. I have polk audio MM and they are amazing, I recommend them ;)
Hey I have a quick question, I can't take out the speaker because the type of nail or screw thats holding the speaker with the door has some sort of circle thing on top. I looked throughout my whole bunch of tools and cant find one that fits with that stupid nail, anyone know which tool to use? It has like a circle insert.

How did you lower the seats
How did you cut the metal back?
Im also wondering if you grinded off the rivets on the front doors? And did you re use the factory mounting bracket or did you make your own?
thats right, i drilled the rivets and i used the mount kit that came with the speakers (front doors)
Just noticed it's very recently made too. So why do I need to buy an amp if I'm only changing the 4 speakers?
