  • 1. Microwaving is safe and is in fact a recommended ‘good method’ of cooking for retaining nutrients. (WHO 2017)
    2. Microwaving does not produce any carcinogenic chemicals nor does it make your food radioactive.
    3. You need not fear the microwave for cancer risk.
    4. What can increase your risk of cancer is if you are using the microwave to cook or reheat high calorie, high fat, trans fat laden, ultra processed food.
    5. It is perfectly fine to store home cooked leftovers in the fridge and eat them the next day by reheating it in the microwave.
