Nick really enjoyed the episode , Seawind seem to be a company focused to improving design and innovative with the processes in each new model boat , love how you guys cover so many different areas of boat ownership and your not just lifestyle focused
Wow! Thanks, it's absolutely fantastic there, their doing spectacular work; and So clean, anyone that keeps a production like that clean, you know they know what their doing.
The European factory looks so much better than the Vietnam factory. The European factory looked spotless which is how you want to see a factory. I know they were still building the factory in Vietnam when they were making Ruby Rose but this is where I would want to get my catamaran made.
Ask how they deal with "Stray Current"? There's some other friends on another channel who are dealing with that nightmare and just wonder how Seawind deals with "Stray Current"? 🖖
Nick thanks for the tour through the factory this was a great experience for me. I used to work in a sheet metal shop and this reminded me of the paint shop section of our building. Cookie is adorable. I bet you and your wife would love to have a cat for yourselves.
On yıldır izliyorum Seawind'i çok kaliteli ve emniyetli katamaranlar üretiyor.Ülkemize gelmesi ayrıca bir gurur oldu benim için.Çok sevindim.Yolunuz açık olsun.
Very impressive! It all looks very clean and efficient with good attention to detail. Well done Seawind Europe (Turkey) I must admit that it could have been me at 6:34 - naughty man
Nice, it's always so interesting to go around these places. We done a tour around Hallberg-Rassy a few episodes back but they have separate factory for molds so only covered assembly
The same De Villiers design studio has developed Elcie and Delos has worked up an Al Seawind for them. There's two other wildcards potentially arriving, a smaller and larger Windelo's built from Basalt fiber . And If someone Starts to commercially produce Inventwoods Metelwood .. chemically Engineered modified wood. This might come through a company like RM Yatchs in France but Would result in wooden boats as strong as metal.
I've resigned myself to the fact that a dozen of my favorite you tube sailing vlogs are spending the next 2 years dockside for rework....its freaking sad now a potential cat purchase is driven by the quality of the warranty work ...
I would love to hear Nick give a review when he compares catamarans to guitars. Did you go for a d-45 when you could have had a d-18? Thank you for the great review.
And so ends Seawind as a great catamaran! They have become a production boat and the quality they were known for is now done. Here come the problems of Lagoon, Leopard, and Fountaine.
123.5 nautical miles between Izmir and Athens ( Athens lies in the south) .The distance between Kusadasi and Samos Island is 19 nautical miles. If you want to do some research. . ( Of course, if you are going to the Adriatic Sea, it is a different matter.) ;)

So the Wynns are experiencing catastrophic electrical issues, you experienced a wide variety of issues which perhaps will never be solved. I feel bad for both you and the Wynns because it is a huge investment in time, money and heartache when your long awaited hopes and dreams are sullied by subpar design, engineering and construction. It seems not wise to buy an early version of a new model from either Seawind or HH. I would not after watching both your horror shows but thanks for the warning.
The difference is RR’s issue were fixable and Seawind worked with the owners. HH is a disaster, it appears they have a stray current issue that’s causing anything metal to rust and pit but they don’t have the technical knowledge to find it.
Wow. Clean factory. Seems like a very different environment. Hopefully they will be as efficient and precise in dealing with your warranty work. Thank you for the video.
@Angie-in8wc Worse, the Wynn's boat is stuck in a small marina on an island adjacent to Davao since mid-July, and HH is sending people there to try to diagnose and resolve their boat's various serious problems, after failing to adequately do so at the new HH Cebu facility. The marina they are in also no longer has haul out facilities, per a cruisers website. It's a real pickle for all involved, to put it as politely as possible.
These are not catastrophic failures. Every new boat has some problems. The difference is how the company deals with aftermarket sales. Seawind and HH are both responsible and have a support system in place. Every new owner expects the issues in the first year, but after that they have fantastic live aboard.
@@GlenNickson 6? there are only 3! "a new hope", "the empire strikes back" and "the return of the jedi" what will you tell me next. that there are more than 2 terminator movies? more than 3 indiana jones movies? stop with the nonsense come back to reality
He mentioned Quality Control, really, did you mention all the warranty issue s pending, one of the big issue today around the world is qualified labor, you can’t find it in any business anymore, everyone wants a higher rate however it comes with a crappy work ethic, I’m two years from retirement, I can’t wait! Today’s work ethic sucks! Sorry it’s the truth!!
Shouldn't do another factory tour. Wouldn't want Teresa to have a mental relapse. Both seawind. And hh. Didn't put there best foot forward with there youtubers boats
Realistically all 3 of you have had new boats built, all 3 went way over the time scale expected and all 3 have had and still have some serious problems. One wonders who would consider placing an order on any of them , everyone in the sailing world must watch you , and with the top 3 contributors all suffering poor quality workmanship I would say the manufacturers should cease production and get it sorted. I suspect European builds are better as all 3 of you went to Asia.
With Covid and the continuing supply chain issues worldwide I am not surprised there are problems. There is also the fact that they are Content Creators and thus are sharing everything with us. Did you hear what happened to the owners of the boats 5 hulls after each of these TH-camrs? ...Me either! As far as Europe and build quality don't forget all the added regional costs that inflate the price of things.
Great factory tour. "Cookie" the Seawind Cat is a fitting catamaran factory mascot.

You might mention sealing off the water tank so it doesn’t get all that debris in it when they clean it up.
Indeed! I think that's gone out as part of their internal comms.
Enjoyable episode! Very cool production facility. I hope your warranty work goes smoothly! Thanks for letting me tag along 😊
Thanks you guys for sharing this tour. I want to buy one now. Love the size.
It's a great boat

Hey Nick did you happen to catch what hull number that was that just came out of the mould. I’m hull #11 and it could have been mine.
Great episode. Thanks for the tour.

nice tour Nick.
Hi, great video, thanks! I want to order one...
Aluminum will take over more and more.. Having said that, these seem to do a good job and not leopard quality problems for example.

When are you guys in Greece. We are in Chalcis rot 4 months this winter. Although December we are delivering a Neel 51 from Gibraltar to Martinique
Ruby rose could have a similar problem there anodes degraded very quickly and could be part of the reason for so much rust, like by the anchor
A long way from Seawind Bellambi, Australia
Is that in the gong,I sailed a new seawind last century from Wollongong, straight from the factory.
The factory in Turkey is state of the art. Wish they would manufacture the Farrier F-22R trimaran.

Great video
I see Scott Bader resin is used in Turkey, do they use the same resins in Vietnam?
Nick do you think that making the hull in one big piece would be better than making it in three pieces and bonding together?

It’s a good time for Seawind to crank up the marketing while HH sort out their issues with the Winns 😂
Did they say how long it takes to build a boat from this factory? Hopefully, it's much less than 2 years 🙂 Good video.

Should be a nice affordable boat.
If you have to change an engine out, what is your access point to remove the engine and install the new one?
…says it all
is it possible to remove the engines for overhaul?
I had the same thought how do you get the engines out? They will be end of life long before the fiberglass hulls.
The 25yams aren’t very big so while miserable probably possible to take through the hills
You have to love to see the Australian safety Boot's. Being thongs/ flip flops love from Australia

A bit suppressed at the price to be honest! A Neel 43 is cheaper by quite a bit!.
