Great Video Kate. I also used CE Shop to pass my South Carolina Real Estate Exam on the first try. You make many valid points throughout your video. One of the best points is that anyone using CE Shop must be serious about getting through the studies and passing all of the unit exams. The Courses are content rich, but you must be proactive to get through the units.
So far my biggest concern is how you'll learn some things through the units exam and not the actual unit itself. You will study and study and study before the units exam, but they'll throw in some curveballs and will ask something with an answer that was never really touched upon in the entire unit. It's discouraging and frustrating, but I try to take it as a teacher looking to trick you to teach you something new about the lesson to help you understand better. I think's it's incredibly stupid to take that approach, especially when the answers CAN be something NEVER mentioned previously, but the other in depth questions helps you think carefully as if to ready you for the actual exam.
i literally thought i was going crazy! or maybe i wasnt just reading correctly?! because ive been facing the same issue. its like i know an answer would be correct, but another answer would. when all of the following options would be correct and say that the other right answers are wrong. its so frustrating.
I agree. But just like any of the Prep Courses, they cannot give you the exact questions or answers, just the topics. CE Shop does a good job of covering the material you need to learn to pass the exams.
@@harveyclayRealtori think you misunderstood or I worded it wrong. I understand the questions can't be like the actual exam. My issue with them was that it had asked me questions about topics it never taught me. Like when I was going through the differences of Condos, Apartment, etc, the practice test asked me about land for RVs or something? Its been a few months so I can't recall, but it was nothing I learned and I spent a sold hour reading through all my notes and the materials given just to come to the conclusion that it was never discussed before it came up as a question (and you don't always get the same questions for each exam before moving onto the next chapter so it could've been likely that I would've never learned that). Sometimes it would also ask questions that really made you think, like a curveball question that a teacher would ask to trick their students. But to me that just doesn't work if I'm practically teaching myself and if the answer was nowhere to be learned besides in the quiz itself. It only made sense a few times when critical thinking was important and the answer WAS in the material, just made you think hard about the answer.

Hi Frank! You take a final exam with The CE Shop - mine was online with a proctor. Then you go in person to take your exam with the state. In SC you can't schedule your in-person state exam without submitting your real estate education records. But I imagine it is different for each state. Hope this helps! -- Kate
